Miro is perfect for collaborating!

What do you like best about the product?
The flexible ways to brainstorm and create plans for different projects together with my team are the best, and you can do so many valuable things with Miro.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe the board view on the start screen isn't so usability friendly, and it would be great to choose a snippet of the whole board as kind of a "preview."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro, for example, for all the planning around our B2B business development. There I have one board for everything, e.g., process planning, time planning, brainstorming, mind maps, etc. - it is perfect for getting everything I have in mind on "paper".

A real boost to productivity in coaching sessions.

  • May 07, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Coaching sessions in classrooms can sometimes be quite restrictive and often cumbersome with many people putting post-its on walls and then difficult to organise in teams. We find it easy to add post-its, move them from feature to feature, group them and build out from them. More importantly, every team member can come back to the board and self-reflect anytime they want to.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are few matters, if any, I dislike about the app but I do find the various subscription models confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I deliver complex strategic planning executive coaching sessions and then provide agile ways of working - discovery, exploration, mapping, elaboration, and delivery exercises. The whole process is "generative", and the Miro boards help me get everyone involved in creating ideas and resolving. It helps everyone work in a manner where active listening and servant leadership principles can develop and dramatically improve the teams' productivity.

Making virtual collaboration intuitive, fun, and full-featured!

What do you like best about the product?
The tool has a fantastic range of tools and a friendly interface. I really like that I can work at the speed of meetings without having practiced too much so that, by the end of a session, I can have nicely arranged deliverables that can be presented to partners, clients, and leaders. Using this product has earned us the reputation of being trusted facilitators but not being too "out there".

We have used Miroverse templates with great success (especially the Crisis curve template and the Design Jam template), and we're building and re-using our own templates as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Video conferencing needs full screenshare. Some of the templates can sometimes get in the way of themselves, making them less useful than recreating them from scratch. The tool needs the ability to turn charts into excel files and to do excel-style formatting. Additionally, the filing system for boards needs to become more dynamic - maybe adding an "unsorted" folder and/or an easy way to batch-move boards into folders would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run strategic planning workshops, brainstorms, and even client meetings in Miro, with great result. We're teaching internal teams to do product increment planning through Miro and to move meetings from static activities to collaborative sessions. More gets done in meetings, more decisions are made, and people are happier now that we use Miro, and I'd say that we're getting great value out of the product. I'd recommend it for entire teams and divisions as part of business transformation.

Simply the best whiteboard software available

  • May 06, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The templates are incredibly helpful. There is just so much variety and all expertly done. Saves you so much time having to think about what kind of diagram is best for the ideas you're discussing with the team. In our team now, we've started to choose Miro over a physical whiteboard.

Miro is also incredibly dynamic - you can do everything from mindmaps to wireframes. It's great to have everything in one single place.

Miro also makes sharing really easy; from team members, guests to public. It is very easy to set different permission levels and also revoke them when required. Makes sure any sensitive information isn't available for too long.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing majorly. I've had a couple of hick-ups previously and the Miro team took a while to respond - there doesn't seem to be a live customer service so that would be good to have. But they're always adding new features and improving the platform. Not had any issues now for a long time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's an easy to use collaborative whiteboard software. It's great for creating mindmaps, jotting down ideas or even planning. We always try to use Miro asap in any meeting rather than discussing theoretical - visualising it makes sure everyone in the team is on the same page and Miro makes it so easy to do that.

Miro rocks!

  • May 06, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Not an exaggeration, Miro has changed the way I work over the course of the last three years (Realtime, what!?). Our team has the ability to plan and develop ideas together and with customers at an increased pace. I am the one who introduced Miro to my team, so thank you for making me look awesome. :-)
What do you dislike about the product?
When we share a board with someone who does not have an account, they always request an account from one of the admins. It would be nicer if it was easier to view things as a guest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am an eLearning developer, and I use Miro heavily in the discovery and development phase of building a project. This makes sure that everyone is on the same page with the scope and delivery of the project. Then everything I create can easily transition to JIRA in the form of issues that are worked on in a sprint.

We also use it as an organization to model workflows and processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Learning how to use Miro has changed the way that I work with my team for the better. Can't recommend it enough.

A great virtual solution for collaborative work and Design Thinking

  • May 06, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Concurrent virtual space for sharing ideas,
Work designated can be easily tracked
Tasks can be assign and validated.
Notifications can be enabled.
Sticky are easy to paste.
Posters creation for the features of the product is easy with a lot of graphics supported.
Task boards can easily be drawn like on Whiteboard and each task can be linked with multiple users.
Communication is easy due to link generation of not only for the overall board but also for each item posted on the board.
Email notifications are also easy to send.
Polls can be done with a feature of Timer
What do you dislike about the product?
Export in Excel just export content in a list and these are not in sequence due to usual Boards structures, some better options should be there.

Linking with Jira should be easy, we faced issues while we were doing it.

Shouldn't be an open URL like www.miro.com/#####, a server to be hosted in the data center where the client is big. For example it should be www.companyname.com/####

Camera/ Video / Meeting enablement would provide this tool and end to end coverage for the overall virtual office experience
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using for the following purposes/ benefits in order of most usage:
Design Thinking Engine
Kanbans boards
Task definition, prioritization, ranking and assignment
Brainstorming/ quick review
Day to day activities of the team

We resolve below problems:
Lack of Whiteboard availability in virtual meetings
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend that do purchase a meeting tool as currently Miro do not have build in virtual meeting capability. We used it with Webex and it works fine.
Also for us multiple downloading of files wasnt there. plz check with support.
Also check if there is an upload limit.

A great collaboration tool to bring in all stakeholders on thematic roadmaps and business ideas

  • May 06, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to work on ideas and whiteboard with your teammates. It helps align the group on the different areas of focus and the results of a brainstorming session. It's a great live collaboration tool where it is easy for users to see where their teammates are on the board and to understand their frame of thought.

Because it's a visual approach to brainstorming and things are draggable, it is so easy to take ideas that are brought up in the meetings and prioritize them based on the business objectives. This feature is essential as it allows all team members to feel that active listening is happening in the discussion, and ideas don't just disappear off the map when they are brought up.

Another thing I love is that I can integrate Miro to my Confluence write ups so it can also be included in all its glory on the technical specs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not something I dislike, but the viewing format is best on a very large screen especially when the team is discussing a large mindmap or something of that nature. When viewing on a smaller screen or sometimes a mobile device, seeing it and contributing to the discussion is hard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Miro to communicate logic and user flows; it has been great in getting other teams' feedback on an artifact from the brainstorming/alignment meetings to make sure it best represents how the group feels.

Now that we are virtual and in-person whiteboard meetings are impossible, Miro has been critical in accelerating the adoption process to an all-virtual work-from-home environment. By using this tool as the primary document or artifact of the brainstorming sessions, it focuses the discussion on the topics on the board and keeps the debate on topic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend some time with the templates to understand the full scope of possibilities with the platform.

Simple, fun, complex, perfect!

  • May 06, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I stumbled across Miro when on a course and found it really easy to pick up and use. Some of the more complex features are fantastic but don't need to be utilised to enjoy Miro fully if you don't want/need to use them. It makes collaboration a breeze and the power of the tool to allow multiple users in the same space to edit is really impressive. It's quite therapeutic watching lots of cursors flying around the screen!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much at all. I didn't like the table creation aspect, but low and behold the next update included paste from Excel capabilities! Perhaps the moving around of boards and permissions could be a bit better, as it does feel a little clunky at times, but that's it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it in the business to gather ideas as a group and on my own. We've got entire projects sitting in Miro using the frames function, and it's a really quick and easy way to keep everyone updated. Visually seeing the stages of a project helps so much more than just seeing it in a chart.

Our favourite tool!

  • May 06, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how it allows our team to work collaboratively and in a very agile way. It is very versatile and we can use it in 1000 different ways and for many purposes, from running workshops to planning, showcasing presentations to designing prototypes, etc.
I love the integration with other tools such as the icons library, images, and the facilitation support functionalities such as the timer, always very helpful during our workshops.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some functionalities that we are used to in other programs, such as creating build-ups for presentations, that it doesn't allow us to do yet, and so we need to find a workaround.
The way how folders are organized, with very big projects, it isn't easy to find the right board; therefore, it would be great to have a system with sub-folders.
We usually don't use the video camera functionality as sometimes it doesn't work so well and we don't see each other, or the camera stays on top of the content. We prefer having another video call application on another screen where we can see everyone and at the same time have the Miro board full space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to work completely remote with our team and it has allowed us to reach people from all around the world to participate in workshops together.
It makes design research easier as all the activity happens in the Miro board directly and the synthesis is much faster, the production of visuals and project outcomes is also much more agile.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definetely use the Frames functionality, it really helps to keep your content organised and to navigate easily through the board.

Fast, reliable and self-explanatory

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing for teachers is the free upgrade. School isn't just about teaching; it's about project management. In Miro, you can work on development projects with all colleagues in a relaxed manner without losing sight of the goal! The visualization helps everyone involved to design complex projects "simply."
What do you dislike about the product?
I also work in teacher training and present Miro there as a perfect software option. Many colleagues are "afraid" to register because they have had bad experiences with other products. To get a "look" at the product without registering would be awesome. At least for my requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned above, this allows us to visualize more complex projects very well. In addition, you can directly name those responsible for the area. What software can be used in the economy because the money is it is not possible in the public service. Therefore an excellent alternative!
