Collaboration made easy with MIRO

  • February 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro makes it easy to collaborate and communicate with co-workers and clientele. It offers a real-time time collaboration even if our team is remotely located. Integration with popular third-party services like slack, dropbox, and google is super easy and helps in improving our business workflow. Even in the pandemic MIRO has proved to be a beneficial collaboration tool and allowed us to run our projects seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue that I have experienced till now is that when collaborating with a large number of users on a whiteboard, there have been performance issues. Apart from this, we haven't had any serious issues withMIRO.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MIRO has been a critical and irreplaceable tool during the pandemic. It has enabled us to be active and productive in collaborating with projects. It solves our problems related to activities like Roadmaps, brainstorming, delivery planning, and collaboration. MIRO makes it interactive and fun to collaborate with colleagues and I really enjoy using it.

Intuitive, Collaborative Platform with Minor Performance Hiccups

  • February 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Miro enables planning and sharing plans easily with teams spread across different locations. It effectively solves the issue of needing a physical space, like a wall for sticky notes, by allowing everyone in the team to access information wherever they are. One of my favorite aspects is that it still feels like using stickies on a wall but offers the added benefit of zooming in and moving multiple items simultaneously, which is a breeze. The intuitive and simple interface feels like standing in front of a whiteboard, making it accessible for everyone to use without complications or causing trouble. Miro's capability to facilitate collaboration with colleagues across different time zones around the globe is fantastic. Also, the initial setup was trivial, making it easy to get started, and I integrate it with tools like Teams to add photos and occasionally PDFs, which adds to its versatility.
What do you dislike about the product?
I experience performance issues with Miro when there are too many stickies on the board. It tends to slow down the loading process, which can be frustrating. Although this is somewhat manageable by cleaning up the board, it remains a hassle. Additionally, the Windows app has a bug where loaded boards occasionally display a blank screen, necessitating a restart and reload of the board. This process is time-consuming and interrupts my workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro to collaborate with team members in different locations effortlessly, simulating a physical whiteboard experience that is intuitive and accessible globally.

What do you like best about the product?
Drawing, Predefined Shapes, All the integrations and plugins, so easy to share with a colleague via Link or invite, following someone during a session, making comments
What do you dislike about the product?
In bigger Organisations sometimes hard to see who has access to what, sometimes colleagues dont have access to Boards although I think they should have, visibility is sometimes not so good in terms of rights management
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Much faster Visualisation together with Colleages, really find shared understanding by looking at the same thing, using pen and paper to make sure to have understood the same issues. Complex situations become easier with miro.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is the perfect tool for remote teams working together in all types of areas. It really feels like standing infront of the same whiteboard.

Working from Home + Miro = Love

What do you like best about the product?
My team and I started using Miro when covid hit and I must say that it was the best thing that could have happened to our workflow and process. It helped us get together and break the distance barrier, making it feel like we were sitting in the same room, bouncing ideas back and forth.

- Miro is flexible and easy to get into
- The amount of activities you can use it for is endless, from stand-ups, to workshops, plannings, retrospectives, and much more. Imagination is the limit.
- Miro is such a powerful tool that can be tailored to any aspect of your work or even personal life
- Jira implementation is an excellent addition to the collection of tools Miro offers
- Miro is my go-to tool when I want to explore new workshop formats or plan my team's timeline
- It is reliable & the performance is surprisingly good even when importing many very high definition assets
- Sometimes I use it even for creating art when I don't have access to Photoshop

Once you start using Miro is almost impossible to go back to your traditional way of working. We will continue using Miro even when returning to the office as it's already becoming an indispensable tool in our arsenal.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not that many things I dislike about Miro, with a few exceptions, of course, one of them being the organizational part.
I find it very tricky to organize my boards into folders. There is no official support, or at least, none that I heard, that allows users to create folders. The only workaround I could find was to create new projects for each type of recurrent session.
There should be an easy way and intuitive of organizing boards into Collections or Folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the most important problems we solve with Miro is reducing the distance barrier when working from home. It is very easy to bounce ideas back and forth between team members.
Workshops or sessions where I need my team's input are so much easier to conduct using Miro.

Flexible and powerful

What do you like best about the product?
There is a wealth of tools available but best of all are the pre-existing templates, many of which I find directly applicable to my work as a product manager. As a consultant, MIRO has been a very powerful tool to enable easy sharing of notes, conduct meetings and share co-created assets. Help is available however it's so easy to use that you can dive in without fear and get productive straight away!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features around visibility and sharing could be made easier to understand and use. Especially when it comes to sharing or handing over MIRO boards to people outside your organisation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems solved are all centered around the ability to work with clients and colleagues remotely. The endless digital whiteboard that MIRO provides has proven invaluable and a true business enabler.

Making work from home feel like your in an actual team

  • February 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro feels just like a real-life whiteboard in the sense that we can all work together at the same time. We all see each other's cursors so that we all see where we are in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had some update problems on the PC application, from time to time a new release/revision of the software won't load my boards/starting page (SSO-login). It only goes to some screen sharing mode and wont't load my boards. The software will be like this for a few days until another release comes availble. During this time the web interface works fine eventhou not as good as the app. By using the web interface during app problems I have never experienced any down time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The pandemic forced us all to start working from home, and Miro filled a need for us. My regular office team can, by transferring the office whiteboard into Miro continue working as if we all were there. Miro can also function as a personal planner or to-do list. My role is to support different projects within in the company and since project plans tend to change over time, so do my tasks. By organizing tasks with post-its I can quickly move them around my personal planner to give me a visual picture of how my planned work is looking ahead of me. I really love the visual tool Miro gives me. It feels like there are no boundries in Miro, yes there is but Everything that you want to do, plan or visualize is possible. My organisation uses Microsoft Teams and there is an add-in for Miro in Teams which I love since it brings all my tool into one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I strongly recommend Miro as a collaboration tool for your organization. The instrument was brought to my organization as a business tool, and we started to use it head-on. During the pandemic and the need to connect teams globally or spread out over an area, this is gold. We can all work together in a collaborative environment.
