How Auth Should Be

  • June 04, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Kinde for its price point and ease of use. Too many Auth services like to hide basic security features behind a massive monthly/yearly bill, but Kinde does not. They provide excellent service regardless of whether you take their pricing into account; however, when you do, they are leagues above all the other Auth services.

Their client libraries also make implementing auth into your site so easy and if you run into an issue, their support is responsive and quick to solve issues.

Their roadmap also lists exciting features that are on their way and you can even subscribe to them so you're alerted when they progress to production.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside I would say about Kinde is that I would like more multi-user actions, e.g., being able to select multiple accounts to perform an action on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Authentication, and in the future, SAML Authentication are the main problems Kinde is solving for me.

Easy to implement authentication

  • June 04, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
First of all, amazing work! Kinde provides seamless authentication on the user end and effortless integration for the developers. I was able to integrate kinde with my next.js app in less than 10 minutes (literally) cause the documentation is very clear and straightforward, telling exactly what to do!
What do you dislike about the product?
Personally I never ran into an issue with kinde since I used it on a small project of mine but I think since kinde is kinda new in the authentication market so the community support won't be as huge when compared to other providers but that's just a matter of time with the services kinde provides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kinde helped me with easy authentication implementation on my website! I had to code one on an urgent basis and it required an authentication feature. So, I searched for an authentication provider, kinde showed up and man the integration was effortless, had to install their sdk and add keys! Create some folders and file and it's done.

Effortless Authentication

  • May 31, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The documentation is very clear and Kinde offers tons of SDK options to really hit the ground running. I was able to implement auth in my app fairly quickly. The Kinde team pushes out updates pretty often and are extremely responsive. The billing feature while in Beta is honestly one of the top reasons I decided to choose Kinde as my Auth Provider. The team has been killing it!
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside about using a new authentication service like this is that when you do run into an issue there isn't a ton of information available online that's actually help but Kinde support is very responsive and the community is growing pretty fast. I wish there were a bit more custom inputs in regards to user sign up, it's a bit limited at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kinde offers auth as well as billing which is an awesome integration that saves a ton of dev time

Easy Migration, Great Team

  • January 31, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We recently migrated our web application from a self-hosted auth solution to Kinde auth. I found the process to be extremely smooth and found minimal issues during the migration.

For any questions I had, the support team was responsive and helpful in both the discord server and through the online chat.

We are now delving in to the features offered in the Kinde dashboard and finding that they are both easy to use and abundant.

The technical documentation was also great and easy to follow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though the technical documentaion was well written, I found it to be missing some detail for some more obscure functions I was looking at using for our implementation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Security in not having to self-host my own authentication solution
- Functionality in not having to write everything myself, now that Kinde is implemented, all of its features are a click away

Kinde has made authentication a breeze

  • January 23, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Kinde manages almost everything for you. You just set your app and variables on the site and you are good to go. Their site is intuitive, has a beautiful UI and good documentation.

They also have active community channels!
What do you dislike about the product?
I really can't name a thing. So far I have enjoyed their service tremendously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kinde solves implementing OAuth2.0 with role and permission management for next.js 14.
Kinde also solves managing and viewing users.
Also for teams, using OAuth providers through Kinde means less local .env setups for teams, since they are configured in the Kinde dashboard

This helps me make the app development take less time. I do not have to setup an OAuth2.0 manually/or with some other solution.
It's really just almost plug and play experience. it keeps us moving fast as a two person team.

Great product, great value, even better support

  • January 23, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kinde provide some really great features and make it easy to enable auth and access control for your application.
They offer a myriad of SDKs to get you started quickly. I was even able to request new features for the Remix SDK and the team were very receptive and welcoming of feedback.

They support multi-tenancy out of the box so there's no need to bend and hack things to fit your use case.

Their pricing is competitive and fair and the support has been fantastic. I love having a direct line to technical people via Discord.

I'm really looking forward to the release of their event hooks (webhooks), billing and subscription management features.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike to be honest.

I use Kinde's auto-generated .NET client. I found a couple of times that Kinde's management API had changed but the client hadn't been re-generated.
However, a quick chat on Discord saw this resolved quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kinde makes it easy to authenticate and authorize users in my application.

Simple and Better! (Especially for SDE interns like me)

  • January 22, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As an SDE intern whose starting with new framework like NextJS, the traditionally used auths were a bit complicated to me as that required a complex pre configurations. But when I tried Kinde, I realised at that moment that this auth is something different, Kinde was really simple to use and the best part of it... was the user managment system that they provided.

As a developer, I can literally go to the dashboard and review the profiles that are login, visualize it while implementing new features.. That kinda of things added a lot of value to me in my developer's journey. They even got a good customer support.

Using Kinde, I was able to make SaaS application's auth in mins, and I think that's just awesome!
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found any downsides of using Kinde as it leverages simplicity when it comes at integrating it. I was able to use Kinde a bit too often to make my SaaS application.
Implementation part was also a bit easy as it did't require much of pre configurations. Although, I would love to see if they are able to add a feauture where developers can customise user profile(image) using Kinde itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kinde helped solve the painful complex pre configuration that every developer had to go through while intergrating auths in their app, it helped to simplify the problem, and helped me to save time and create more website and focus on the main features of my website. Overall, Kinde made me more productive.

preety nice option for auth integration

  • December 29, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
easy to onboard and implement, i tried it for my personal projects using py, really liked the passwordless and the third-party login, saved a lot of time in development, the support is also good, i.e. interacting with actual persons instead of bots, the documentation is also easy to follow and less cluttered
What do you dislike about the product?
not many bad things i find, just some little ones like last name is mandatory for a user and little and some of the features are still in beta, thus not for stable use as they may change over time, though they are not of a big issue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has made user authentication way easier to implement with easier third party integration, passwordless login and user management with roles and permissions
