This is the Scale plan, billed on a usage basis. You pay a fixed monthly base amount, then add metered usage on top. Five usage dimensions each come with an included allowance, and you pay only when you exceed it. Monthly Active Users bill per additional block of 10, and Machine to Machine (M2M) tokens bill the same way. Monthly Active Organizations, Environments, and Enterprise connections each bill per additional unit. Each dimension scales independently, so your total reflects the base amount plus whatever usage passes each included threshold.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as a Monthly Active User, and are my paying customers included?
A Monthly Active User is a user active in a given month. Users on your own paid subscriptions do not count toward your allowance. You are never charged twice for the same user. Inactive and test users also do not count toward billable usage.
What happens if I exceed the included amount for a dimension like Monthly Active Users or M2M tokens?
Each dimension bills independently once you pass its included threshold. Monthly Active Users bill per additional block of 10, and M2M tokens bill the same way. Organizations, Environments, and Enterprise connections bill per additional unit. Overages are billed automatically at published rates. Organizations with a single active user are not counted.
What counts as an Environment, and why would I need more than the included ones?
An Environment is an isolated space such as production, staging, or QA, each with its own users, data, API keys, and feature flags. You get 1 production and 10 non-production environments included. Extra environments bill per additional unit, letting teams separate development and testing from production data.

I like Kinde because it's super easy to use. It literally takes just two to five minutes to set up authentication, which used to be a tedious task. I also appreciate the very good documentation they provide, which makes it simple to integrate with the SaaS applications I'm working on. The platform's components for rendering and conditional rendering are also something I really like, as they are easy to use and helpful. Once the authentication is in place, I can focus on the main logic of my application without worrying about it, which helps me move fast and stay focused on what's more meaningful for my SaaS.
What do you dislike about the product?
Webhooks, man, I wish they had better webhooks. I'm not sure if they have right now, but when I was using it, they did not have webhooks. I wanted users to also be synced in my database. So, yeah, webhooks are the one that can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Kinde for authentication in my SaaS applications. It simplifies setting up authentication, which used to be tedious, and can be done in two to five minutes. The integration is easy, helping me focus on the main logic of my application rather than authentication.

What do you like best about the product?
Moving from Firebase to Kinde was easy and has allowed us to really increase the way we manage our SaaS platforms users and RBAC. Moving to kinde has been amazing for our business and has also helped us to ensure our security for clients is above the industry standard.
The new addition of the billing has been great too as we are able to move out of stripe and now have a single provider to handle our foundational user onboarding, billing and continued authentication.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far we have not found any limitation within kinde for our use case. All the features we needed and expected work perfectly.
I could suggest some reporting added directly within the Kinde management portal but with the ease of setting up the Kinde API with our CRM and having custom workflows we no longer have a need for reporting directly in Kinde
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to have an out of the box solution with a single provider that can address so many for national areas of a SaaS business has been the greatest benefit. What kinde offer really does allow anyone to get a SaaS business up and running from user management, billing and RBAC.

What a great product, so happy we found it!

What do you like best about the product?
Kinde was super easy to integrate. We had to try and replace an existing Identity Server based customised solution so we had to try and make it work in place of our old solution with minimal rewrites and without completely changing our code. Kinde was up to the challenge and would have been even easier if we didn't have these restrictions in place.
The support we received from their team was fantastic, even in the lead up to the project when we were trying to select a solution, they were great in helping us evaluate Kinde and answering the many questions we had.
Once everything is set up, it just works really well. It's fast, easy to administer, and the pricing is very fair and reasonable compared to the competition.
The team is always building new features and growing the product so it's great to just see new helpful features appear!
What do you dislike about the product?
If any of your code is stuck on .Net Framework (rather than modern .Net) then they don't have an SDK, but implementing Kinde using the oauth token endpoints is still very easy.
Importing users via CSV has some limitations at the moment which I believe they will be working on in the future.
In some instances the docs were a bit vague or incomplete and I had to go to their support team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing user login and registration, removing the need for us to manage user credentials, manage security and generate oauth tokens for securing APIs.

What do you like best about the product?
Kinde is very easy to setup with my Nextjs project. It takes care of user session management for me with simple functions. I love that I didn't have to manually manage user sessions and cookies. User management is easy from the Kinde dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wanted to change roles using the API. I found the API docs for the machine to machine tokens was confusing. I had to dig deep into their Slack channel to find this information. I wish they would write more clear instructions on this aspect of the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kinde is solving the user authentication and authorization problem. It let's me use google sign in very easily to my application: MySocial.
