Great tool for connecting applications

  • June 29, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray's UI is easy to understand but robust enough to create the necessary connections between your applications. The interface that you use to build out your workflows is both intuitive and friendly to your eyes. The support team there has been very helpful with getting my workflows set up and debugged.

I'd also like to call out the Tray academy which has some useful videos set up to get you up. It starts with the basics and gets more advanced with so much information available for you to self-serve.

By learning this tool, you'll gain an understanding of APIs in general and be able to connect to a variety of APIs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be a bit high without support but they have a decent amount of help articles to make up for it. If the interface does not map to current aspects of an API you want to connect with, you may need to wait for Tray to update their connection with said API.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When certain integrations between applications don't support your use case, you can use Tray to custom build your integrations directly with the applications API. Tools like Zapier can help with creating connections between applications but they are nowhere near as robust as something like Tray. The amount of events that can be created + customizable workflows is endless.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely check out the Tray.io community and academy to get a lay of the land.

Powerful and Flexible low code automation

  • June 29, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When we're integrating systems, it rarely goes perfectly. Often small differences in data format or edge cases would prevent us from using other automation platforms, or introduce a large number of errors downstream.Tray provides access to logic and full code snippet execution to ensure that we can always make our workflows function correctly, even if may end up a bit more technical. This ability to jump into a more advanced workflow when needed is key to ensuring we can always use Tray to automate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though it's improving all the time, Tray's trigger library is limited compared to something like Zapier. This isn't necessarily a problem as zaps and other automation platforms can trigger tray workflows easily via webhooks, but it is an extra step.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sales ops automation, quote to cash, and data migration

Easy to use with powerful results

What do you like best about the product?
UI is clean and simple; there are so many connectors that are valuable
What do you dislike about the product?
for some of the features, if you do not understand how APIs work, you need to do a lot of self-learning
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
connecting enterprise platforms with custom solutions - I don't need to rely on certain products just because they have an integration with XYZ

Great automation tools

What do you like best about the product?
The system has a powerful set of tools for interacting with APIs. So far I have been able to accomplish everything I set out to do with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is relatively high for our use case. There are some buggy issues here and there where nodes dont work as expected. Also, support is slow to respond now that we are live. During our trial, support was very responsive and participative. That set expectations pretty high. Makes sense why that would have to change, though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use tray to interact with third party APIs to accomplish several different goals. One of the integrations we have built is directly responsible for revenue generation. We also use it to push reporting data to decision makers via Slack.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend time during your trial to get a working POC. That's the only way to know if it will meet your needs.

Great engineers - will work with again

  • May 04, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I feel we were lucky to be paired with our solutions engineer (Gordon). We were building a custom integration and needed his critical thinking to solve for disconnects we were finding in the data.

Would recommend.
What do you dislike about the product?
Account Managers take weeks to communicate. Perhaps it is an industry standard I am not familiar with. If it is, disregard it. If it isn't, I would prioritize the communication issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were connecting a history student/class registration software with HubSpot. The integration works.

Long hard road but we got it to Production.

  • April 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Live API Calls that allow you to see the data you can change or affect. Great documentation.

I worked with Matt E. on the many processes to get our integration done between Hubspot and Leaflink. He's a great guy and wonderful to work with. Their team is willing to admit failure but not defeat. It took a long time to get production, but we still got there.

Their team was willing to step in when there were problems, and they took ownership of the software shortcomings in dealing with my specific issues. We attacked the problems, coded solutions, and got our relationship back on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
The roadmap was rough and much longer than initially forecasted by their team. It took a long time to get to production. I was expecting a Q1 integration, and it rolled out in Q4. Not ideal, but they made right on the contract and billing to reflect this long onboarding process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data interpolation in the canabis industry.

We have an operational Hubspot to Leaflink integration that only interpolates data found in Leaflink as a customer.

Tray is a powerful low-code automation platform

  • April 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Tray already has so many platforms integrated into its environment. What's even better is that if someone uses a platform not integrated, it's only a small fee to add it to Tray.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. For anything I can't figure out, my Tray support plan allows me to have meetings with Tray support staff as needed o work through the problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team is automating otherwise manual processes. We're saving significant amounts of time, our first workflow saves about 20 hours a day of manual work for a particular team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Build a test workflow with Tray and see how it works. Try to build one yourself or try to build one with a Solution Architect during your trial period. Record your sessions and that will be a great learning tool towards building workflows yourself.

One of the best and most adaptable integration platforms yet!

What do you like best about the product?
It's super light weight and customizable to exactly what I need
What do you dislike about the product?
A little difficult to get started with the platform
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to easily set up ad-hoc integrations to our platform on the fly has been a game changer!

Tray is very helpful

  • February 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of Tray most. There are many ways to solve a given problem using the built in connectors and 3rd party ones.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the UI navigation can be difficult some times, for example getting back to your list of Workflows when you are inside of a workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Tray to generate custom csv reports to be used in various services. The scheduled trigger feature will allow me to make this process automatic.

Tray is the Swiss Army Knife of IPaaS.

  • January 28, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray has an extensive collection of connectors that they are constantly adding to. As a company that heavily uses SaaS platforms that never 100% meet our needs, we are able to connect them together using Tray reliably and continue using our tools of choice without waiting for other development teams to build integrations for us. We also feel heard by their solutions and product teams with quick turnarounds for connector requests or enhancements that we need to support our workflows.

Tray also supplies a large number of data manipulation tools that can be used to connect systems together more effectively. It seems that every week we encounter an integrations problem that could be solved using Tray.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tray's user access governance leaves much to be desired. Organization-wide flows and auths are just that: available for literally anyone with a Tray account at your company to access and use. As we get larger and implement more controls we find it necessary to introduce segmentation into what people can access. Tray has workarounds that we are using, but it introduces extra management overhead that is not ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Transferring data from one system to another where no native integrations exist
- Setting scheduled jobs
- Streamlining manual processes, saving many hours of work
- Integrations that have saved us money as we didn't have to purchase pre-built add-ons to replicate the functionality we could build in Tray
