My first five years working in Costpoint
What do you like best about the product?
The support received from Customer Care. I have worked in IT for over 25 years and this is the first product company that has provided such excellent support and shared knowledge. Whether from a phone call, Zoom meeting, support ticket, in-person conference, or virtual conference. Deltek is there to help you succeed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Error messages that display when an exception occurs. Messages do not help identify the issue, which can happen in all of the Costpoint domains.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not able to articulate at this time.

Deltek Costpoint and Data Driven Company
What do you like best about the product?
All users are on a central system, making it easy to track data like costs. Using Costpoint streamlines our business processes and allows insight into performance and trends.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be challenging to learn how to navigate the system for new users. However, Deltek has done an amazing job providing many different learning tools, guides, and videos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have moved our company from chaotic multiple data sources and spreadsheets into Costpoint. We are utilizing a central location for our data and leveraging built-in Data analytics and reporting, simplifying accessibility and making business decisions faster and more efficiently.
Deltek CostPoint is a Game Changer for Government Contractors!
What do you like best about the product?
The standard reporting that Deltek offers in CostPoint being exportable to Excel
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see some of the standard reporting that is being exported to Excel be more of a table view so that I would not have to manipulate the information for lookups and pivot tables
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to enter enough data when processing an entry to ensure I can pull a useful report and not have to link several reports to get what I need.

What do you like best about the product?
Costpoint offers a great product that allows customers to customize the system to fit the business and support their daily operations. It's scalable to enable a company to grow without the need to move to a new system that would require extensive training and blackout periods.
What do you dislike about the product?
The overall product is great. Some of the processes seem like they could be streamlined to be more efficient. There are application limitations that I think could be enhanced for a better user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company is a large global business. We meet the demands of multicurrency requirements as well as various business streams within a multi-company system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If implementing from scratch or converting from another system, hire a reputable consulting company that has Costpoint experts to ensure you have a successful launch. The money spent on their services will save the company from spending more money to clean up the system or choosing to go to a different product.
Good software for Government Contracting
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to tailor the application to meet our company's needs through extensibility and CBI. We are able to tie our data together for centralized processing in the way we need it. The system is getting more user-friendly as they take lessons learned from usability, but it does require some training to administer the data properly. However, the level of complexity makes it more powerful system to meeting reporting needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being on the Cloud has limited us because we don't have access to Cognos tools we had when on-premises. Some of the operations can take longer than if we were locally hosted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to do a lot of automation which reduces the workload on our employees. This has enabled us to take on a larger workforce without having to hire more support staff as many of the manual processes we performed in the past are now being handled by the automation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking at your first ERP, think long term. Cutting corners to save some money will cost you more in the long run when you find you have to upgrade to Costpoint; many cheaper systems do not handle the data in the way necessary to meet the requirements for government contractors.

The Labor Distribution with T&E interface
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I dislike is the printing in the excel format. I wish there was a dump to excel instead of the PDF type formatting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to complete the month end close process under 5 days
The Only Accounting ERP that a Company Needs
What do you like best about the product?
Following the Project from Start to Finish and In-between is the best for any accountant that follows the complete project cycle. Allowing a quick glance of where the project is at through Dashboards and other Reports via Costpoint Enterprise Reporting or Cognos Business Intelligence.
What do you dislike about the product?
Toggling between Table and Form on the different Modules, wish it defaulted to Form View vs. Table View.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing a glance of where we are as a company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking into a complete ERP system, this is it! I have enjoyed working with Deltek Costpoint for many years since 2006 to this day and have enjoyed learning all that it can do! It has changed a lot during the years of using this product, and I am proud to be a User/Admin of this product.

What do you like best about the product?
Very robust platform for project-based accounting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Upgrade process is unwieldy and time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Projects able to track costs at various levels as needed.
Manufacturing
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of information at your fingertips is just incredible. If I need to know the status, quantity, or location of material at any given time, I do not need to open up three different modules or pages. All the information I need is laid out perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really, I have yet to explore all the features that CP has to offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Production Manufacturing. All reports are easily accessible.

get a consultant to walk you through the conversions and train the users -- the transition from SAP to Costpoint was frustrating.
