Long time deltek costpoint user
What do you like best about the product?
Costpoint is a pretty easy system to learn and use . Many users pick it up easily and when comparing to their previous systems they like it
What do you dislike about the product?
Some issues we have that are lower priory do not get looked at ever and falls off the radar .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The updates costpoint makes for major realeases usually have updates that been for users and make life easier on workflow

My favorite part of Costpoint is the manage project userflow screen that allows me to assign employees new tasks to charge time to

My least favorite part of Costpoint is that the manage roles screen is broken
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows our employees to successfully charge time to individual projects and synchs properly with invoicing

The Customer Service is very helpful and can easily follow through
What do you dislike about the product?
When setting up projects or any other set-up, flow chart is needed to know sequences to complete the set-up-missing the flow chart set-up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project cost is easily tracking and indirect cost are properly allocated

It has Efficient Reports to Management Team.

It has Complicated Procedure to finish the task

Efficient Financial Data to Management Team.
Good system but can be complicated. You have to use too many screens to do one function.
What do you like best about the product?
As we are learning more how to utilize the features of costpoint, we have found it to be an asset on collecting data as well as performing functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is way to complicated. Too many screens to process one thing. One problem we have is that everything in our system was set up years ago by people that are no longer here. We have problems trying to correct how the set up is to be able to utilize the full capability of the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The new homepage with MyMenu is wonderful for our employees that use Costpoint for many functions. It is a real timesaver

What do you like best about the product?
Costpoint has all the controls built in that are needed to be compliant with DCAA. Other products have to be modified in order to be compliant.
What do you dislike about the product?
Deltek is not investing in the payroll module. There are many requirements for payroll and leave that have to be done manually. Their union/wage determination needs MUCH work. We evaluated their HR Module and had to say no due to the lack of functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deltek is allowing our employees to enter their time in a system that is DCAA compliant, validates overtime, calculates leave per union requirements. Deltek is handling our project costs in a DCAA compliant method.
For government contractors, it is a very practical software.
What do you like best about the product?
The project reporting is very comprehansive. The cost pool structure is very pratical. The timesheet and expense module are DCAA approved application.
What do you dislike about the product?
It need more work on the user-friendly interface.

As a federal contractor, we need Costpoint to provide us contract specific comprehensive controls and reports.

What do you like best about the product?
Easily handles the multitude of projects we have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Single user processes in payroll. We have mulitiple users and we have to schedule our processing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to allocate everything by project. We have several project control employees that are able to pull their data in order to efficiently process the finance work.
Costpoint is a good ERP solution
What do you like best about the product?
Costpoint select support is very helpful from accounting, technical, and all around support. The application itself is fairly customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There seem to be a fair amount of bugs that enter the application through updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Government contracting. Costpoint is a good solution to apply an ERP toward government contracting accounting.

The help function is the most convenient and user-friendly element to get an answer quickly.
Downloading reports in various formats allows users to meet the requirements.

Limited training videos are available on YouTube or any other social media platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project accounting and reporting for program managers through PSR's help meet the business requirements. Scheduling reports is also the most useful and timing-saving feature.
