Deltek Costpoint Review
What do you like best about the product?
Deltek Costpoint, overall, is easy to use and navigate. It is easy to implement for those who have little to no experience with Deltek Costpoint. There are numerous features that are very beneficial, if and when the features are utilized by the company to it's full capacity. From my personal experience thus far, I use Deltek Costpoint daily and have yet to be exposed to any other comparable ERP system.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ease of integration is quite difficult specifically with other supporting software. Customer support is primarily through the company IT department which makes it challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deltek Costpoint is solving the ease of use. The benefits from that is streamlined work flow and little to no delay when training and updates are implemented.

What do you like best about the product?
User friendly, intuitive, and constantly incorporating user requested enhancements. Customer service is knowledgeable and easily accessible.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Chat feature for support is not always available in a pinch. You often have to submit a case and wait for them to get back to you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deltek has incorporate the functions of many previously external functions into one platform. We can pull the data into one report tool. We no longer have to log into multiple products to use all of the functions.

What do you like best about the product?
I've been working with Deltek since 2012 and it is a great system for government contracting. Over the years as more and more things are automated it gets bettter and better for gov con businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
In a lot of ways Deltek Costpoint is not intuitive and the help screens would be nicer if they showed "best practices" so that there is a least some idea on how to work with them and configure them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily we use Deltek Costpoint as our finance and timekeeping system. The T&E piece of the system is very benefiical to us.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very helpful that we can create new reports and formats to tailor to our specific needs. There are a lot of features for account and program cost management that make my job much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is that the T&E side is spearate from the Costpoint side. That is if we make changes to a timesheet and import, but then it doesn't get posted, we have to manually check reports to identfy those inconsistencies. This is a problem when juggling multiple projects with hundreds of employees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily use Costpoint for timekeeping and invoicing. The invoicing capability help tremendously to make my invoicing process more efficient.

I think it is a very user friendly ERP system. I have been using CP for 20 yrs.

The newest version is so amazing I cannot think of anything I dont like

Useful System for Managing Government Contracts and Grants in a Nonprofit Setting
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Costpoint is how it brings together contract, financial, and compliance information in one system. I manage a large portfolio of government and private grants and contracts, and Costpoint helps ensure that project managers, finance, and compliance are all working from the same data. The system makes it easier to stay on top of contract modifications, billing terms, and funding limits, and the audit trail features are especially helpful when working with federal awards. I also rely heavily on the Business Intelligence module so that I am able to run customized reports, which has been key to tracking spending, burn rates, and projections across multiple contracts.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve had with Costpoint is navigating the reporting fields outside of the BI module. The field names can be overly technical or counterintuitive, and unless you're in the system daily, it’s not easy to remember which fields to pull for specific reports. If it weren’t for the BI module, which simplifies reporting and lets me build visuals more intuitively, I’d probably struggle more with extracting the data I need. I understand the system is built for depth and compliance, but the user interface for reporting could be more user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Costpoint helps solve the challenge of keeping financial information organized and accessible across a complex portfolio of contracts and grants. I work closely with project managers, and having a centralized system where we can track budgets, spending, and remaining funds in real time has made a big difference. It helps ensure that project teams stay within budget and understand their financial standing without needing to dig through spreadsheets or request reports from accounting. This is especially important with government-funded work, where compliance and documentation are critical.

Project budget tracking is very accommodating

How complex it is. For those with complex needs this may be the best route.

There are so many fields that aren't used and makes the screens confusing. Mostly when trying to generate reports.

Time keeping and invoicing. It allows the invoicing accurate to what we put in for time expenses.

What do you like best about the product?
Since the new update, Deltek is more of a user friendly database. The new feature that will allow quick entry expense will be extremely beneficial for the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am still in the process of learning Deltek and so far with the new upgrades, it has changed my viewpoint with the system. I do not have anything that o currently dislike about Deltek.

Allowing the company to be able to do budget entry from start to finish.
