Powerful Analytics with Room for Improvement

  • December 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Tableau for user analytics, observing my customers' usage data and other analytics like custom reports for data analysis to make product decisions. It has comprehensive data analytics tools that help me easily visualize data and make informed decisions, as well as export the data to Excel or images. The smart user management with great user-based access control makes it easy for different personas to use reports. I like the advanced charts that help in complex data analysis. The editor mode lets us preview the analysis before publishing, and the data models help with most of the SQL crunching and data aspects, making it easy to analyze and prepare data models. I appreciate the time-saving aspect and ease of use with the drag-and-drop editor, which reduces TAT for analytics teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The aspect ratio of the charts in different screens is not adjusted correctly, so what's built on one screen fitting well doesn't look nice on smaller screens and different resolution screens. The charts have to be adjusted again to fit the screen sizes of the stakeholders. An auto-adjustment of these dashboards with respect to the screen sizes would help. Also, we have to manually run data models for our dashboards, and auto-run comes on higher plans, which makes us dedicate a resource to run these. In case of missing it, it results in no updating of the data. The initial setup of Tableau is of medium complexity and requires some knowledge of setting up database connections and securely accessing data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau for user analytics and custom reports. It provides comprehensive data analytics tools, visualizing data effortlessly to make informed decisions. The drag-and-drop editor saves time for analytics teams.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Tableau offers a lot of templates which are useful for creating dashboards and showcasing KPIs. This feature has helped me gain insights into CPU usage patterns, identifying peak times, and enabling us to reroute the workload efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of templates are paid. There should be some provision so that it can be used for personal use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau for dashboard creation to visualize data, which helps us monitor CPU usage and reroute work efficiently.

Intuitive Visualizations, But Needs Better Integration

  • December 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the UI is pretty easy and very simple. I find it very helpful that Tableau automatically suggests different types of visualizations, which I think is the best feature. The region-specific visualizations, like the world map, are also nice and make the tool more interesting for me. The automatic suggestions for visualizations based on sales or spend volumes are particularly useful because they simplify creating reports and dashboards. This automatic feature helps me a lot by making the process easier, especially when I have to analyze spend volumes by supplier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Oh, Tableau Desktop is a bit slow. That's what I feel. The integration with Microsoft apps could be improved. When I use Power BI, it's simple to launch through Teams or embed into my Excel apps, but that's not the case with Tableau. So if we can focus on a better integration, that will be very nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau helps me collect and collate data from Excel and ERP solutions, making it easy to create reports and dashboards. Its visualization suggestions simplify analyzing sales and spend volumes, automatically summarizing data, which makes my life easier.

Excellent for data storytelling — fast insights and great visuals.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau makes turning data into visuals super easy, even for people who aren’t hardcore data folks. The drag-and-drop dashboard builder is smooth, and the visuals look clean right out of the box. It’s great for quick insights and sharing reports with the team without needing to write complex queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes be slow when handling really large datasets, especially if the source isn’t well-optimized. Also, managing licenses and permissions can get a bit confusing in bigger organizations. A few things in the interface still feel like they could be made simpler.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau helps us visualize complex data and spot trends faster. Instead of digging through raw tables, we can see patterns instantly and make quicker business decisions. It’s also handy for creating dashboards that non-technical users can understand with zero explanation.

The drag-and-drop interface is really user-friendly, enabling quick creation of visuals that are both insightful and visually appealing. I also appreciate the interactive dashboards, which allow users to filter, drill down, and explore data dynamically, making presentations more engaging. Moreover, Tableau's ability to integrate with multiple data sources, like databases and cloud services, is fantastic and offers a lot of flexibility. Lastly, its speed and efficiency in creating reports and dashboards really stand out, making it easier for teams to respond swiftly to questions or trends.
What do you dislike about the product?
Here are some common areas where users feel Tableau could be improved: Steep Learning Curve – While Tableau is powerful, new users often need time and training to master its features, especially for advanced calculations, data blending, and dashboard design. Cost – Tableau can be expensive for smaller teams or organizations, particularly when scaling to multiple users with Tableau Server or Tableau Online. Performance with Large Datasets – Very large or complex datasets can sometimes slow down dashboards or require optimization to maintain responsiveness.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau turns large datasets into clear, interactive visuals, easing trend analysis. It speeds up reporting with near-real-time dashboards and enhances communication through visual insights, making it accessible even to non-technical stakeholders.
