Triumphs in Tableau
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau makes it easy to be a data analyst. It’s fairly user friendly and the visuals are very clean and easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau has its quirks and it can be frustrating trying to achieve a specific task that I have in mind. It will require a specific sequence or verbiage to make it happen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get questions and requests from management and Tableau allows me to quickly and efficiently provide answers and visual representations.

I think it’s a great product and makes my life easier when uncovering insights within the data I work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I have to go out and research various workarounds because it doesn’t do exactly what I wanted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting the data at the fingertips of my stakeholders- from execs to customer service.

Visualization is the best part. And it is easy to learn for beginners.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some of the more complex financial analysis, it is still challenging to get it all done in Tableau.

Data extracts, data comparison, quick analysis.

The applicability and ease with which I can use it for my role. I work at a small non profit and I love being able to scale my data.

The learning curve for design is harder.

How easy it is to turn big data into insights and the customization available.
What do you dislike about the product?
If exact dates are required in the view you have to click twice, once to convert to exact date and again to convert to discrete. Level of detail calculations are challenging to work with. Lastly, the limitations presented by blending when trying to create calculated fields. Certain calculations are invalid when using fields from various sources.

How intuitive some of the mechanics are and how powerful the tools are.

Sometimes small changes mess the entire viz up

What do you like best about the product?
I love the creative aspect to tableau. It’s wonderful to have a creative outlet in a data growing world
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not take into account the day to day average user.
- Minimal server display instead of spelling out buttons (icon vs text)
- no download to csv yet!
- no subscription with csv
- no “reset button” the developer can embed into the dash so the user doesn’t have to search for the icon on server
I have to spend additional time making my dashboards more accessible so that everyone is capable of usage

Ease of use , highly customizable, intuitive and robust

It’s expensive and licensing cost is not affordable for all organizations

Not perfect, but super useful

Tableau is the best way I know of to visualize data insights. It’s easy to use and you can do just about anything with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Salesforce owns Tableau, so everything is a sales pitch. They focus more on “new” AI capabilities than just making it more user friendly.
