Powerful Visual Analytics for Cost and Vulnerability Insights
What do you like best about the product?
I really like Tableau’s powerful and intuitive filtering capabilities.
With multiple orgs, teams, and roles, it’s incredibly easy to drill down and view data that’s most relevant to your scope.
For example,
1. we can quickly identify AMIs older than lets say three months,
2. services performing below four 9s availability,
3. cloud components with high spend, or
4. containers running vulnerable Docker images, all with just a few filters.
And since these are something that you do quarter on quarter or year on year. These dashboards usage are very frequent and eliminate the cross team dependency .

What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, Tableau works great, but when handling very large datasets, the visualizations can become slow to load.
The user interface also has room for improvement in terms of responsiveness and modern design

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau helps us bring together multiple data sources to monitor both cost and reliability metrics in one place. We use it to track SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs across services, identify areas where availability falls below targets, and analyze spend patterns across orgs, teams, and roles. It also helps us quickly spot older AMIs, high-spend cloud components, or containers with vulnerabilities, all of which supports better decision-making and cost optimization.
A great application for Data Visualization.
What do you like best about the product?
What i like about tableau is its drag and drop interface which makes it great visualization tools for a non coder. Good for personal use
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to create a large variety of models easily
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the ability to sometimes go back in time. I think the application has some improvements to work on in terms of researching with live data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Researching past product performance, creating geographic data maps, easily merges data fields.
Great tool for reporting and visulaizations
What do you like best about the product?
The best I like about Tableau is it supports great number of connectors like databricks, salesforce, local files like excel , csv etc., It is really easy to get the tables joined, do the transformations directly on the datasets as well. The customer support is also really great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only thing I dislike about Tableau is the coding knowledge that is required to create calculated fields. A minimum coding knowledge is needed , but the visualization tools are really nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a data engineer, i work on great number of datasets and preparing reports and visualizations for the entire organization. Tableau makes the job really simple as half the dataset preparation , transformation and visualization is done on the tool itself.
Smart on data
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is my favorite tool for exploring and visualizing data. It makes it super easy to dive into clean datasets and find insights fast. I mostly use it to build dashboards and reusable templates for similar types of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, it’s not ideal for complex data preparation. It works best once the data is already structured and ready to analyze.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily for referring to data and analysis for my day-to-day work in sales and P&L.
One of the best BI and analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate about Tableau is its intuitive drag-and-drop visualization, which makes creating charts and graphs straightforward. I also value the wide range of data connectivity options it offers, allowing me to work with various data sources. Additionally, the interactive dashboards are great for collaboration, making it easier to share insights with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few aspects of Tableau that I find less appealing. First, the licensing and subscription costs are quite high, which can be a significant barrier for some users. Additionally, mastering the more advanced features comes with a steep learning curve, making it challenging for beginners to fully utilize the software. Lastly, when working with very large datasets, I have noticed performance issues that can hinder the overall experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool makes it much easier to interpret complex data by turning it into clear, easy-to-understand visualizations. It also helps speed up data-driven decision-making, allowing users to act quickly on insights. Additionally, it enhances collaboration by making it simple to share interactive dashboards with others.

What do you dislike about the product?
While the surface use of Tableau is quite easy but learning the depth and more advanced features could be really challenging. Like LOD expressions, complex table calculations and some specific data transformations requires some detailed learning. Also while working with Tableau, its licensing model also becomes a significant barrier, though for students and learners its free but when implementing it for the entire work team, it can be really messy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major problem Tableau solves is that it provides the detailed and data backed insights on the large datasets that could take alot time and gets easily integrated with multiple data sources, hence making it easier for the orgs to use and adapt.
Powerful and Intuitive Tool for Data Insights
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau excels in turning complex datasets into stunning, interactive visualizations with its drag-and-drop interface, making it accessible even for those without deep coding skills. The ability to blend data from multiple sources seamlessly and create dynamic dashboards has been a game-changer for my reporting needs, saving hours of manual work while providing clear, actionable insights. Its robust community support and regular updates keep it evolving with new features like enhanced AI-driven analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing can be steep for smaller teams or individual users, especially with subscription models that add up quickly for advanced features. There's also a learning curve for more intricate customizations, and performance can lag when handling extremely large datasets without optimization, requiring additional hardware or tweaks to maintain speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau tackles the issue of handling vast amounts of unstructured data by enabling rapid creation of interactive charts and maps, which has cut down our analysis time significantly and allowed for real-time monitoring of key metrics like customer engagement and inventory levels. It also resolves team silos through shared workspaces, fostering better cross-departmental insights that have enhanced our operational agility and reduced errors in budgeting by roughly 15%. This empowers us to make data-driven decisions swiftly, ultimately driving cost savings and innovation in our projects.
Tableau feedback as a user and developer
What do you like best about the product?
I used tableau for more than an year and have taken up it's certification too. The tool is super cool in terms of sources it can connect with and simplicity of widgets. In comparison with power bi, tableau has many inbuilt features and there is limited need of writing queries. It does not hang much.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since it is a paid service and not accessible to everyone for hands-on experience, many companies choose not to use it. This limitation makes it less appealing for widespread adoption.
