Steep learning curve, great product
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau allows you to do more with your data than any other platform
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is a bit steep, and you have to put in a lot of training hours to get the maximum benefits
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using Tableau Desktop to visualize survey data. I'm still in the discovery phase, but it's already opened up so many new levels of analysis and presentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Even though there's a learning curve, the training resources and one-on-one assistance is incredible. Take advantage of it!

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is faster than tableau desktop. Even if it comes at a cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
It definitely has fewer capabilities than tableau desktop.

I have not been using tableau for an extended period of time. At this time I do not have any dislikes.

Fantastic Software, User Friendly, but much more powerful after learning advanced skills
What do you like best about the product?
Simply said, Tableau presents data visualization in a way that is easier for new users to implement and outsiders to understand. You don't have to have a lot of skills to get started, in fact, someone with almost no experience could pick it up within a few hours of tinkering with it. On the flip side, for those who take the time to really learn it; learn the calculations, and what others have done, you can begin to do some great things with the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
To get into the more advanced calculations, there is a learning curve and it becomes a lot steeper when there are more specific tasks. I would say there are "limitations", but there almost always a way around them. In other words, if you want to do something specific, but can't figure it out, there's typically an alternate way to do it. Although you can complete, you ask, "Why couldn't it have just been done this way?".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There was not an easy way to visualize data. Sure, excel does do the trick, but when you're dealing with months and months of sales data over time for multiple campaigns you can't put all of that info in a single excel file. It simply doesn't work. Not to mention the added time to create graphs, charts, tables, etc. Tableau does it all in one. The benefit is doing more in less time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you manage large amounts of data and have to present that data to others, Tableau is the way to go. It makes it easy for you to manipulate the data in an attractive way. Then, for those who wish to view it can do so for free with the Tableau Reader.

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Tableau is how in depth it can go. I'm able to pull data from sources that I had no idea existed. It's quick and pretty easy to read. It also had great visual data, as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see organization done a little differently. Other than that, no complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Tableau has allowed me to monitor my team's status more closely than normal. The benefits have been data that I didn't know existed or that I could pull, which has helped my team become more efficient.

It shows reflective data in a neat way. Look great when put together nicely. It also looks professional for a presentation.

it can look messy if not used correctly. Its really just an overrated tool for comparing data..

Go for it. Absolutely intuitive and involving UI/ capabilities to depict complex of the data visually!

What do you like best about the product?
Organization and layout of the sales data.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot more columns than i need when downloading data into an excel spreadsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to provide partners with accurate sales data and help drive new sales opportunities.
Great Visuals but Tough to Use
What do you like best about the product?
It helps you see and understand large amounts of data. The dashboards are very visual and beat any other product I've used (i.e. Excel, etc.).
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to integrate with APIs and can take a long time to diagnose data issues. It's not SUPER intuitive and I like the drag & drop features, but these can be difficult to put together.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our business uses Tableau to generate insights on our customer data. It allows us to put together dashboards and reports that fit not only our needs but our advertisers and publishers as well. It's a crucial aspect of our business to be able to act on large amounts of data.
