Great Data Visiualization
What do you like best about the product?
The data visualization, especially using the heatmapping tool to identify the "clusters" of a specific audience within a particular geo is very effective in understanding how to localize campaigns and media mix when buying on a national level.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating the report--or getting the actual data to visualize is a bit more difficult than other similar platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Audience insights. Being able to understand who are audience is or where they are is how we use it. An added bonus is uncovering some additional consumption (or other) habits that you can leverage when planning/buying.

What do you like best about the product?
very simple and intuitive drag and drop interface with auto summarization that allows you to get results right away.
I like how in a single interface you can do crosstab and summary reports combined with list detailed reports and combine each of those into a dashboard and even dripp up and down through hierarchies

What do you dislike about the product?
the functionality is limited, it is not possible to build complex reports like joining data sets with different levels of granullarity and still get correct roll-ups.
U dont like the fact that is not possible to define different types of roll-ups for different dimensions like Time, like doing a average or last period roll-up over time dimension and aritmethic sum over other dimensions.
Not being able to export properly to excel is a big pain. All end users from any company were born with Excel and they will never give it away, it is the most comfortable tool for consumer type of user although DWH administrators do not like it. Excel is unavoidable and we should deal with and find a way to integrate it rather than exclude it from the tech stack.

Operational reporting and dashboards. End users are more capable of doing self-service reports without IT crowd intervention given the easy user interface. Report sharing through Table Web portal is very helfull and allows the user community to speak the same language
Recommendations to others considering the product:
although I think is going in the right direction, the lack of complex modeling is very painful
Easy GUI interface and very diverse in options and services

Map feature which allows analysis on geospatial data so easily

Coding part which is required sometime to make parameters and some functions which are not possible without coding

I create Geo spatial data and maps which my be useful for decision making of acquisitions for our company.

Ease of use, beautiful charts and graphics that are easy to manipulate

Sometimes data pull is slow which makes daily tracking hard to keep up with

Transparency among key business initiatives and metrics
It aggregates a ton of statistics to help make sure we performing up to par

That it doesn't update in real time for more real time use.

performance measurement, that I am doing well in some parts of the job and need to improve in others
Tableau...great visualizations, not so real time.

Like the visualizations, ability to see data in a visually pleasing manner.

Tableau is clunky, difficult to use and only allows you to see data for certain periods of time. ETL process needs to be real time for it to be effective.

Basically it's giving me the ability to see my data which helps me understand where I am in relation to my goals and sales numbers.
Great Dashboards for Visualization of My Pipeline/Quota
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is dynamic and offers the ability to build excellent visuals to see what is happening in my business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Without some background Tableau knowledge, it is difficult to create the visualization you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualization of my business, where I stand and where I need to be in order to hit my goals. Dashboards have also been created to show my expected compensation based on commission. Territory mapping has also been created for my organization in Tableau.

I like the ease of visualization with this product. It’s easily impressed colleges by turning data into actionable insights.

I wish that it was easier to live connect to data.

I use this software to compare dealer inventory, orders and sales vs other dealers or target/goal.
A World of Flexibility for the Analyst
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau desktop enables the analyst to manipulate the data in almost any method that could be conceived.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau desktop doesn't process huge amounts of data fast enough. This should be fixed to some extent with version 10.5 when it gets released.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its enabling us to have one source of truth for all reporting. It provides an easy solution for data visualization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get some training on how to use the tool. It has a lot of flexibility but it can be confusing to use at first.
