Visualize everything and anything
What do you like best about the product?
This platform has changed the way data used to flow from an analysts work desk to that of the audience. With simple visualizations, filters, dashboards it has made visualization easy and accessible to millions of people around the globe.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest disadvantage for this platform is that once you make your visualization public everyone has an access to it. they can download and manipulate it. Though it helps the community grown but the security issue that comes up becomes a major concern for some companies with sensitive data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using this platform to analyse data , exploratory data analysis, formulate visualizations and make presentations to clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Clean the data first, since Tableau cannot read a lot of formats. If you data is not clean the tool cannot do much. Also one you are inside the tool have a flow of what you want to do ready so that the tons of options do not confuse or mislead you.

Great software to gather data and upload to CSV for client-share.
What do you dislike about the product?
Loading speeds for larger raw data can lack consistency and have longer loading speeds than other softwares.

Data collection and redistribution.

What do you like best about the product?
Desktop allows users to the possibility to view dashboards without having to download or refresh extracts. It is a super easy tool that anyone can simply follow links or star their favorites and it will take them right to the dashboard they want.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is an edit on screen but, users with a high access level might see this option and think it is harmless. However, they are actually editing the dashboard. Possibly more insight into what that truly means would be very helpful!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualization for the entire organization. This tool gives people from expert analysis to executives the opportunity to have reports at their fingertips. A tool that every organization should utilize!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The company is always rolling out new versions which are wonderful! I would highly suggest getting a team of analysts and a BI team for support so this tool can be rolled out company-wide.

I like that the software can run big data and the software is very friendly to use

it`s hard to correct and edit the data after uploaded from the source does not work with windows shortcuts

What do you like best about the product?
The charts that you can create from Tableau are very pleasing to the eye and the UI is very appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the functions are still limited compared to the likes of R, which has inferior UI but more functionality

We used Tableau to organize data trends in eye catching charts for presentation to clients

Great tool to ease Office
What do you like best about the product?
I was sick of opening half a dozen windows and programs to pull leads, track sales and calls, and compare growth. Now it’s all done in one location and is customizable to your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had a bit of issues with filtering lists to target certain key factors but I’m sure that’s an easy fix I just need to look!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidation means saving time! When I have less places to look I have more time to call!
Very easy to communicate
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about this is the fact that it's easy to share dashboard throughout the workplace. We put our dashboards for doctors and other providers to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I guess this is more from our end, but it takes a long time to upgrade to the latest version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just to be able to share info across the spectrum. many times, doctors and providers don't get to see the level of detail in data that we do. Tableau server allows us to do that.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is extremely intuitive and allows anyone from the analyst level to the C-Suite level to develop meaningful insights from data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the calculations and formulas that are available to a user in Excel are either unavailable or must be formatted differently in Tableau. This takes some getting used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have drastically streamlined the amount it takes to complete a data request, resulting in increased awareness of trends and the ability to make business decisions in a timely manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Familiarizing your audience with the graphical/user interface of Tableau Server is key. The more comfortable they are with the look and feel, the more willing they will be to trust your analysis and use the product regularly.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau Server is a helpful platform through which you can publish workbooks (dashboards) to share with others, and depending on permissions, they can download as well. It also lets you link to workbooks if you want another website/page to feature your data visualization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Any edits that are made to a workbook must be saved and re-uploaded, I haven't been able to edit in Tableau Server's site which means you can end up with many copies of a dashboard..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau allows us to share our visualizations/dashboards with clients and receive feedback on our work, while letting them utilize what we've built, without them being able to make edits or change anything.
