Tableau for visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is a wonderful resource for creating interactive and creative visuals. We often utilize the heat mapping and dashboard functions to display data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to find embedded data in already created dashboards. When trying to make edits on a visualization that you did not create, there are multiple different ways to create visuals using embedded spreadsheets or manually inputting data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau allow us to best display business intelligence results and share these results with clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tableau is like Microsoft Excel on steroids - it provides better graphics and options for uploading interactive and colorful files with embedded data in graphs, charts, and maps.

Playing with data, but only if it is batched data
What do you dislike about the product?
Multiple joins and publishing online, refreshing, is painful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
KPI tracking and operation dashboards. We realised we could use it for fraud detection
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is great at in-memory or extract datas. But when it comes to publishing, automated refreshing dashboards, it is real pain. Need to spend lots of time on it.
Great Tool to Visualize Your Data
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to learn even for someone without extensive knowledge in other visualization tools. Easy drag and drop type of tool that helps to summarize and visualize large amount of data with few clicks. You can generate an effective dashboard that enables users to view multiple charts and graphs at the same time easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still not capable to incorporate a lot of features and it is expensive to acquire license.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To build Dashboards.

The more you use, the more comfortable you get to the software.

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve just begun using Tableau, but I’m impressed with how intuitive the software is. The visualizations that can be created and manipulated by the end user provide a tremendous about of value when using data to tell a story.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time, the cost of the licenses is the only negative.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When providing data to a large audience, not everyone is trying to draw the same conclusion. By providing a fluid visualization, individuals can use the viz to draw their own conclusions rather than viewing a static report.

When it crashes after Editing an extract.

Showing my users how to answers questions with one dashboard rather than creating multiple reports.
Tableau helps my users to ask more questions and has them thinking more analytical rather than just report generation.
Tableau also changes business culture for my end users. I helps to set a culture where everyone is not dependent on reports that does not answers questions but rather a Dashboard that introduce solutions, curiosity and challenges for better solutions and resolutions.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that anyone in my org can view my dashboards and visualizations without needing the Desktop suite installed. it makes things fast and easy for them to be able to dive into the data..
What do you dislike about the product?
Its a little hard to get data out of Tableau Server into programs like Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using it to share business results and KPIs for a variety of consumer product sales and supply chain data.

Best visualization software for instant insights, highly customizable and shareable dashboards
What do you like best about the product?
Drag and drop, easy mapping built-in, can analyze as fast as you can think, for survey can pivot data quickly from wide to long dataset and then plot all questions WAY faster, table calculations, easily import any kind of data, easy to clean data. Can interact with the visualizations and create dashboards and stories easily
What do you dislike about the product?
That it costs more and that more people aren't using it yet to easily share things with them. I work a lot with partner organizations/governments in developing countries and they can't afford Tableau Desktop and Tableau Public is nice but you can't keep things as private and secure

Analyzing survey data, creating interactive dashboards and maps for public health/epidemiology dat
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is definitely the future. You no longer need to be a nerdy programmer to be savvy data analyst. I think more universities should start teaching data analysis and cleaning with Tableau right off the bat because it's visual and therefore you get instant visual feedback from filtering out certain rows. Then after one REALLY understands data, then it makes more sense to learn an older less visual software like SAS so you have better tuition about what SAS is doing.

Making large quantities of data easy to comprehend
Very easy to learn and use. Build industry standard eye catching visualization.
What do you like best about the product?
Flawless drag and drop capability followed by automatic chart selection based on the data. Its capability to aggregate data in the visualizations at different dimension level using LOD expressions. High speed data extract creation and faster vizs.
What do you dislike about the product?
No easy way for nested sorting based on the desired dimension level.

internal data KPIs. Fast and effective way of showing data anomalies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Creation of extracts from a data table of over a billion records in Google Big Query might be difficult. Multiple times it failed to created for me.
Apart from this, as long as the data table isn't that big, Tableau works great. Great tool when it comes to ad hoc programming and really a best way for users like me to easily surprise supervisors.
After the inclusion of Hyper, data extracts creation now are very fast.
