Tableau - Data Visulalization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau allows my team to more easily visualize data across multiple sources. It is an incredible resource not only for viewing our own data, but sharing with clients. With multiple data sources across numerous platforms, Tableau has allowed us to create a one stop shop for all of our data needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be more intuitive. If you are not a trained Tableau user it can be difficult to cut and change the data as needed. This proves difficult with sharing data views with clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With multiple data sources across numerous platforms, Tableau has allowed us to create a one stop shop for all of our data needs. We use tableau for both internal data read outs for optimization of media as well as sharing data with clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A strong coding/data analytics team is needed when porting multiple sources of data into Tableau.
Wonderful program
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create concise and easy to understand presentations with our data is invaluable to our work. Tableau's user interface is extremely easy to understand and it produces great easy to understand visuals.
What do you dislike about the product?
The program could be a little bit easier to understand without knowledge of excel/ data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for client facing presentations and have had no issues with wonderful feedback from clients about our presentations
Leaves something to be desired
What do you like best about the product?
It does pull data together to display in graphical format. It looks like it has some potential to be a powerful tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not very intuitive. The data is organized in a very messy way. There's too much information all in one place and it's difficult to organize it or sort it. I understand that we can create new and different formats for displaying the data, but it's not easy or intuitive to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized database with production performance and a common location for all sites to display their data. Anyone from anywhere in the world can review the production data in any location.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I get what Tableau is attempting to present as a solution and it seems like it has capability to be powerful, but it looks like a lot of effort has been put in to making it powerful and not very intuitive. It's not easy to see the data and it's not laid out in a way that's easy to understand. Reports can be customized, but it's not quick or easy and it's not intuitive.

I can connect directly to Salesforce data with Tableau
What do you dislike about the product?
Unable to cut and paste graphs into presentations as easily as you can in Salesforce dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing dashboards across company and not just with one department.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tableau is great because you can connect your data to it from almost any type of software.

It is a quick and easy way to see how we are doing on reaching our admissions goals

That our version only refreshes every 24 hours.

tracking goals, letting multiple people know about where we are with admissions goals.
Great for data visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau allows me to take a large collection of data, and turns them into great visualizations. The design is pretty intuitive. I love that the product is well built out and mature--there are great communities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as easy to learn--it requires a significant training phase for successful deployments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for a company with many and large sets, Tableau was a little hard to learn at first, but it helped me visualize trends with the data and make educated decisions on the product. I would have not been able to do this with excel. q
Great data visualization software
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoyed how the software allowed me to create pivot tables on steroids. I could show all of my business needs visually instead of using a second rate pivot table.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve was rather steep to master.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to explain a paragraph's worth of data in one simple chart

It is difficult to master at first, but keep toying with it or take a class and you will be able to fully harness the power of Tableau.
Bring your data to life
What do you like best about the product?
Anticipates the format of your data file to easily create and manipulate reports. Easy to learn the application. I was able to teach myself using the help material within the product and through trial and error.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting text fonts. It would be nice if you could right-click on the text you want to change and have the format options available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to see daily trends to keep a close eye on operations.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau gives you a lot of flexibility to create graphs and dashboards to visualize your data
What do you dislike about the product?
Parsing your data to get exactly what you would like to graph/visualize is not as easy as other tools such as Microsoft Power BI

Analyzing data, creating graphs, creating reports

What do you like best about the product?
Product is intuitive and performance is excellent. Keep in mind that in-memory process is local to desktop. When running server-side there will be some sacrifice in to performance, but increase in data and information security.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau targets visualization discovery and analytic. Business unit mistaken this visualization as reporting. Product trails behind in enterprise reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sales clients are wanting real-time visualization manufacturing progress and production.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Due to Tableau license structure, put more thought into you solution architecture. This will ease administration.
