What do you like best about the product?
The tool is fairly intuitive to get started.
Connecting to a data source is straightforward and simple. Whether that's a csv, access, sql server, oracle, or others.
You can have several data sources in the same workbook. Perhaps a main connection to a sql server database for transactional data, and a local csv which can be used as a lookup.
Tableau Desktop is great for data exploration, where you can get a feel for the data. Using it to build reports, and dashboards that can be used to create stories to convey a message that the data supports.
All of this is performed locally.
The ultimate goal is to publish the workbook that has been developed onto a server for the business to consumer and to gain the insight that you have uncovered.

What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing structure means there's a larger initial outlay than other products on the market.
However, the costs from year-2 onwards are a percentage of the initial year's fees.
This means that the longer the product is used, the lower the average cost per year is.
Support for the product is excellent.
This can come in the form of bespoke guidance from your account manager, or from other user responses to community posts, asking for help on a particular problem.
Tableau's learning portal is extensive, as every feature is covered, with examples of how to achieve certain reports, dashboards, or how to understand a new reporting feature, and where best to use this.

Tableau Desktop helps build great-looking reports and dashboards that support data "self-service".
This empowers a business user by giving them the tools, in the form of a dynamic reports, where they can browse the data, and trends intuitively. The standard functionality to be able to export data is present, so if the user wishes, they can export the data and perform more analysis outside of Tableau.

Tableau Desktop is a front runner along with Power BI as a tool for enterprise businesses who need to empower the business with self-serve reporting functionality.
This helps save time maintaining "static" that only provide one answer to one question.
Tableau reports and dashboards help answer the immediate question asked, and support followup questions as the user explores the data.

One of the best BI tools
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is designed in a beginner friendly way. It still has a lot to develop, but the product development team is responsive. When I had a problem, I couldn't find the feature I want on Tableau community, I sent an email to Tableau and a product manager followed up with me to understand the problem I had. That was really good customer experience to me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some visual features should be more flexible for users to control, esp those that have aesthetic values rather than analytical values.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating nice visuals than using traditional Excel or PowerPoint. I have used the ready made templates wihin Tableau a lot, which made creating basic visuals much faster.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how intuitive this program is. You can figure out how to master this program pretty quickly just by paying attention to what you are doing with it. If you know excel, you can jump right into this!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how switching between pro and public can be difficult. I have also encountered saving/file size issues in the past but it is not as common.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Tableau for data journalism and focus on building meaningful visuals to convey the story within our data. We have realized that Tableau has so many customize-able features, we dont need a graphic designer to make the charts aesthetically pleasing.

Offers interactive data visualization. I like the fact that student can use it for 1 year for free. Can handle the large amount of datasets. We can build a good POC dashboards

The only dislike is its a licensed software and charges a good amount of money.

I have got exposure to the data visualizations field. Creating dashboards. Custom charts,calculative fieds etc.

Mainly for students they can learn about data visualization and practice crating dashboard,they can enhance their knowledge in this tool. Since they are getting 1 year free use,

Exactly what I need to evaluate leads before calls.
What do you like best about the product?
My company works closely with salesforce and we have even done work for them. It is top of the line CRM analysis and I have not seen anything more innovative. The data helps me refer to exactly what brought them to my site and what to bring up on the call to engage them.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is helpful but we also use Google analytics so the only neutral thing I can say is they they are very similar. I do not like that I cannot use lightening because of the other offices not understanding it. A tutorial would be helpful for my other teams. I am making the most money out of my team using these tools so education
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The only problem is that the data in lightening and classic does not transfer if you leave notes. My team in the Philippines only uses classic so when I was using lightening they saw none of my notes and I had to re write them all. Visually salesforce lightening was stellar.

It is a program that will help you learn CRM and is great for beginners and specialists alike.

This product has the ability to slice and dice a wide variety of data sets and create dashboards that are visible by the public via a url. This is a vary capable data visualization tool

The product can at times be non-intuitive.
