Tableau Desktop Review - Versatile and Intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is easy to figure out quickly. It is user-friendly and has a clean display. When creating dashboards, the user is able to drag and drop the data points they'd like to work with. Customizing the aesthetics of the dashboards is an easy process as well.
I've completed a number of different dashboards for projects in my organization, and in only a few months I can confidently say that I can use this software to complete what is requested of me very quickly. Whenever there is something I don't know how to do, I am able to turn to the many resources that Tableau provides for free online. I am able to access videos and discussions on all of the functionality that Tableau has. Often times, there are multiple ways to get to a given outcome and I appreciate that I can choose the functions I am most comfortable with.

What do you dislike about the product?
My only complaint would be that sometimes it takes a while to refresh, but that's probably because I am loading in so much data!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am transitioning all of the data from my department into Tableau so that it can be stored all in one place and visualized. I work for a public health organization that runs a helpline. Our organization collects data on the individuals that call for help. I am able to use tableau to analyze the caller demographic data. In doing this I am able to get data-driven answers to questions like "what areas of the state are most in need?", "are there certain populations that seem to be disproportionately impacted by this public health issue?", and "are there any trends in this caller data that would suggest we focus our resources on specific issues?".
Recommendations to others considering the product:
use the online tutorials - they are very helpful!
Power BI Data Visualisation tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, big support community online. Free tutorial at Tableau HQ in London occasionally. Good for those who like interactive dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's very hacky, especially trying to make calculated metrics work. You can't have different sets of measured values in the same sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating weekly reports (one dashboard of truth) allowing stakeholders to self-serve.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use, try with a free trial to see if it's right for you before deciding.
Great for quick analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to visualize complex data quickly
What do you dislike about the product?
not intuitive interface. It takes some time for the user to get familiar with how tableau works. Also the panel titles are sometimes confusing as they conflict with other softwares' titles, for example filter works differently in other predecessor data analytics softwares than Tableau.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analytics and evidence-based research
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watch the tutorials first and use a case study- I recommend skipping in-person workshops and use online tutorial videos to really understand tableau better. I have done that mistake and believe i couldve learned the 'right' way if i stuck to online instructions
Best Data Management and Visual tool
What do you like best about the product?
Best part of server is that it is accessible from anywhere right from ipad to the desktop , also at the same time it's security is awesome. The data becomes manageable and easy to read with the visual options. Stats can be seen in any device which are firm approved
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike . It's a great application except for its costly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data management needs, availablity of stats at major devices and easy presentation of facts using visual methods
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is one of the best data management tool available by far. Only problem is that it is expensive. Otherwise, with security perspective it's very good.
Great BI tool
What do you like best about the product?
Very user friendly.. especially for beginners. Great features
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as great as mstr even though mstr has long go live process
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for our reporting
Decent way to sort data
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the fact company informatics is in one place, it is just a matter of finding what you're looking for specifically
What do you dislike about the product?
the splicer option to better sort information is somewhat difficult to understand and utilize to get desired data (unless you're a somewhat skilled user)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Company data is all in one place, making information gathering easier
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Maybe incorporate a fun, interactive video at the start of using the application to give a rundown of the features and link for supplemental help/support
Used on a daily basis to keep in touch with my sales team
What do you like best about the product?
It is a great tool to store customer information, and keep track of sales
What do you dislike about the product?
It can seem crowded at times, the new version is more clear though
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The previous version was very different so still hard to navigate the new one
Life saving visualization tool!
What do you like best about the product?
Data connection is super simple. It is also very straight forward and user friendly. Options of visualizations and colors options are excellent. It allows me to view the data in a way that I want to see it, opposite to other well known software where you are mostly stuck with what their decisions. Their customer service and subject matter experts are awesome too! They respond to my inquires very promptly and also follow up with an email!
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have anything I dislike about Tableau. I'm not able to update it to the newer versions but that's because my company stopped paying for the newer licenses. But even with the old version, I create so beautiful charts and graphs and that still amazes people when viewing them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can do 3-d or multi dimensional charts and graphs which makes it easy for my stakeholders to view and understand the data and make data driven decisions. In the past I was using another software (the one that is installed in most of the machines) to create charts and graphs. Using tableau, I can create a single visual instead of 4 or 5 with the other product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Although the data connection is straightforward/simple, and it is easy to create/use its features, there is a learning curve and it needs training to understand its full capabilities. Once you do it, then there is literally no limit what you can visualize!
Business Intelligence Done Right!
What do you like best about the product?
There's been an ongoing debate for a while now with Tableau V.S. Power BI. I've used both and I must side with Tableau for two reasons.
1) Our team uses it in-house.
2) It's just better!
While not the easiest to learn, Tableau offers so much in terms of business intelligence for its users, that it makes it all worth it.
Its visualization tools are the best in the business, and its ability to cater to different business roles just makes it that much better.
The Tableau team keeps pushing frequent updates to improve it as tech advances. The support team is helpful!

What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau is not the easiest to learn as a BI software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualizations, report generation, data mining.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time initially to get familiar with the basic features by going overall a few tutorials.
Very good for real time analysis.
What do you like best about the product?
I could set up a backend data for it and it used to refresh automatically whenever there is change in data.
What do you dislike about the product?
We will need to log in to tableau everytime we use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real time analysis was made easy.
