As a Data scientist To present the data story, Tableau Is the best tool available in the market

  • August 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
what i like the most is the eye catching visualizations, Easy to use and the best part is the story part.
I always used this tool for analytics and insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
the pricing is high as compared to power BI, and to be competitive in market Tableau has to think to reduce the cost. Because companies prefer Power BI because of licensing cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Major problem as already mentioned above is Story Telling and Applying analytical techniques to get insights from huge data, In which Tableau is playing major role by providing the data story platform and integration to all type of data sources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My consideration specially for telecom industry is to have POC on performance if you have huge base as on MSISDN level it might take more time.

Tableau - holy grain for visualisations

  • August 14, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about tableau is that it is so easy to learn and simple visualisations can be made by dragging dimensions and fact data to rows and columns.
Apart from this, Tableau has a lot of internal resources which are available to understand the concepts easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of times ‘show me’ feature can be misleading. It doesn’t always give you the best ideas for the data available. Compared to Qlikview, there isn’t a data modelling option available to completely transform the data as per your needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently doing a project on stock price predictions by unsupervised detections of candlestick patterns. I visualise the stock patterns as per my model in Tableau and it also helps me to forecast the data accurately. Also, the license is a bit expensive for startup organisations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a really good tool for beginners to learn and for advanced people to explore. The Tableau community is very strong so if there are any questions, you can go there asking for help. As a visualisation tool, its really good but the most important aspect is having a business understanding and then developing the data viz.

Tableau Desktop is an excellent visualization tool

  • August 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have become satisfied customer of Tableau, it has provided us ease to deal with our supply chain related tasks. Because supply chain itself is very demanding and time consuming activity in terms of finding the right source of supply across the world and then planning for order delivery is more hectic. Not only this but we faced great trouble in managing the receipt and tracking of data was also a complicated and time consuming tasks. But now it keeps much value because it is doing everything effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a very expensive tool for all setups. I think its pricing policy could be revised so that it will become a universal platform. Along with this after we installed this application, we really faced some issues in its fast operation. I think a good internet connection is its key source of operation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am capable of managing my complex factors and in real time. Tableau is helping me in optimizing inventory, streamlining transportation, and in managing the delivery time period. Now our team has the better idea advanced modeling and forecasting, which provides visual aspect and insight view of whole process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will recommend this tool. On the basis of its key features, which will help me to add to my business value, I can better collaborate with my sales and purchase department. I can also get much benefits from its mobile application.

Tableau is becoming the tool of choice for large and medium size enterprises who are making data visualization a priority. If you are working in a company which is working on Data so they must need a tool which can transform data in to graphs so that they can easily understand data pattern. Tableau is a data visualization tool which help us to give quick insights of large amount of data and gives you back interactive graphs, maps and others according to your need.

Easy to use : Tableau is easy to use and it is basically using drag and drop functionalities, which is easy to perform operations, with the help of drag and drop functionalities user can easily create a visualization in a minutes.

Handle Large amount of Data : Tableau can handle millions of rows of data with ease. You can easily process large amount of data and by making a visualization you can easily figure out the pattern in data. Different types of visualization can be created with a large amount of data without impacting the performance of the dashboards. Also, there is an option in Tableau where the user can make "live connection" to different data sources like sql etc.

This is the biggest issue with tableau. It's very expensive product to scale across a large organization. Compared to other BI tools. If you registered with Tableau they will provide you tableau public free of cost but Tableau public has some limitations . You can use it for personal practice or learning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recently , I have completed a project on COVID19 spread in the India. I designed a Bar graph, Map and horizontal Bar graph with the help of Tableau desktop which shows us the number of active patients, Number of recovered patients and Deaths in every state of India . With the help of these graphs user can easily see the spread of corona in India. You can check it on my linkedin account : https://www.linkedin.com/in/falah-anwar-khan-553176167/.

Tableau Dashboard has a great and fast reporting features that allows you to customise Dashboard specifically for a certain device such as a mobile phone or laptop. Power house on data visualization

  • July 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Learning curve for tableau is proportional to the level of what the user is trying to do. Basic visuals are quite simple do, powerful data analytics and calculation require a advance knowledge but once reach it's quite powerful. Adoption and benefit is instant to user once they see the power of their data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The traditional user employ self-teaching to advance on their knowledge. To which google and their public forums are your go-to resource. With recent changes on their website, a google search for a solution now hardly get you to the right post. Also Tableau encourage communities to help users, that can be really helpful, but sometime trigger uncomfortable difference of opinions between contributors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analytics, trend visualization. Tableau dashboard speaks a millions words bu just looking at it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Deployment coordination and socializing the tool with internal stakeholder is key to success. Data evangelist within the organization is key to adoption and implementation within the organization

Ease of use, clarity of the interface, close to error-free flow of work, simple and very versatile formula editor, especially great to have the FIXED way of aggregation, quick table calculations, geographical and calendar capabilities... and the list could be continues with many more advantages... simply a great BI tool to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that comes to my mind is the export to cross-tab (Excel) functionality. The speed of this is not very great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Good for Data Storage and Visualization

  • July 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about tableau is the sheer volume of data it can store and visualize. I can look at data for a company of 50,000+, or I can check metrics for a single employee.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau is not as simple as other tools to manipulate. Filtering data in particular requires a lot of specialized knowledge about table building.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Tableau for deep diving customer service metrics for many years. It helps create a centralized repository for many different KPIs and business metrics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are willing to spend the time tweaking with the filtering, this is a great tool for visualizing and manipulate large sets of data.

Tableau - A user friendly data visualization tool.

  • July 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is user friendly and easy to understand BI tool that is very helpful in data visualization with much ease. It save as lot of ti,e when it comes to data cleaning and uploading which takes forever using excel and database. This is considerably reduced a lot of time with providing a much cleaner data for analysis. You don't have to be an expert for using tableau. Any non technical person can create real time visualization easily within minutes without impacting the dashboard performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau for data visualization is a great tool but there are few cons in data analysis. Cost per license of tableau is very high and since it is not an open source tool not everybody can have access to it. BI capabilities of tableau are still not good as compared to other BI tool available in market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualizing huge data into reports. With the help of charts and dashboards it gives an easy insight on the growth or sales statistics of the required project. Big data visualization is easier as compared to the traditional Ms. Excel that was used earlier to generate reports. Huge files can be processed easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tableau is a great tool that gives insight on the data. It is important to explore every scenario with hands on practice like data blending, sorting, filtering, data cleaning, data visualization, stories, dashboard and many more features. If you're looking for your career in research or data visualization tableau is definitely a plus point. You just need to play with data.
