This tool is a high-speed and responsive tool with a drag & drop feature which makes your work very easy. There is a whole list of data sources that you can connect with to read the data.

Product support is limited. There is some issue with Tableau getting integrated with Github. Some options are tricky to use and data load time is bit on slow side which can be improved.

Tell Your Data Story

  • November 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau Desktop provides access to the full capability of the software than the online server version. In Tableau Desktop, you can import data from multiple sources, create data field relationships, create calculated fields, generate tables, charts, graphs, and other visualizations. When connected to a data source, all table, charts, graphs, and visualizations update too so updates become automatic.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike about the software other than the inability to import data from unique and proprietary sources. Also, one downside to using the desktop version is that when dealing with huge datasets, software commands run much slower.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau Desktop makes it easier to automate your data as it should be presented to business leaders, managers, and decision-makers to inform their business knowledge and decisions.

I am analyzing competitors for social media marketing

Data integration with other tools like SAP Business Intelligence and SAP ERP is easy and convenient.

Tableau is a great tool to use, but sometimes data blending, i.e., combining data from different sources, becomes a little bulky. Also, the pricing of Tableau is a little costlier in comparison to the options available in the market.

Best Data Visualization tool with interactive dashboards & integration with different data sources

  • November 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Easier integration with most of the data sources available, which helps in automating the reports and creating great visuals
2. Entitlements and data governance policies that help in securely maintaining and reporting client data and controlling user-level permissions
3. Tableau Viz of the day is one of the best platforms in showcasing unique and interactive dashboards with different use cases encouraging people to collaborate and share different ideas
4. Excellent support from Tableau user community and great articles on knowledge base, which helps in troubleshooting the queries
5. Customizations of views is another great option that comes handy while creating dashboards
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Tableau from many years offers limited standard views like a bar, scattered, and line plots which can be further improved by adding new plot designs to the palette
2. Tableau dashboards sometimes have performance issues, particularly while connecting to databases or reading from a data dump, which slows down the interaction with the dashboard, this can be fixed by changing the internal search options to get the dashboard up to speed even with extensive data
3. Even though we do have Tableau public, but it has limited features, and pricing can be improved to help mid and small level organizations adopt this tool
4. Not a one-point solution for all the work as it can only be used as an endpoint to showcase the job but lacks in data preparation and transforming skills
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inaccurate and less efficient reporting through excel macros and manual works, which is prone to human errors and involves a lot of FTE, and is dependent on FTE. By using Tableau, we can automate the existing dashboards and reports and move them to server, thereby removing the manual dependency and is less prone to errors with interactive visualizations

Tableau Desktop great capacity for BI

  • November 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used Tableau to create dashboards, as I have used it to analyze data of this type. I have used Tableau Prep, as well as publishing on Tableau Server, among others. I like its ease of use and the great capacity to process a vast amount of information without consuming too many resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to perform some kind of pre-filtering work similar to QlikView, since in Tableau it first loads into memory and then allows filtering. Being able to edit the load from a source and filter it beforehand is something I would like to do. However, the tool is capable of quickly loading a lot of information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analysis, I have worked with Tableau to create dashboards, with restricted access for certain users, segmenting information, creating drill downs through various data hierarchies.
