Complicated but once learned it's great
What do you like best about the product?
It can transform data into something interactive and is visually stunning. I wish I am better at it, but I went to a conference and the design and what you can do with it, is great for trying to present data to another party.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not the easiest to learn for beginners. Learning Tableau can still be a challenge. It's hard to transform the data you want into something stunning as a beginner, in my opinion. I see beautiful charts and graphs, but I feel like you have to really learn and spend a lot of time to get to that level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau is great for making charts to present to another party who isn't into the data as you are.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau makes it easily viewable so you can see how you are performing with your sales goals. It does a great job of showing you how you are projecting to meet your goal or not. The daily emails are great as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are overnight failures with the product where you can not access data the next morning. This makes it hard to figure out each day if it's accurate or not, but does usually get fixed quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This solves many reporting issues for internal stakeholders. We are able to share data between teams and see how close we are to making goals. There are many reports you can view through this tool as well.

It is easy to use and interactive. You can create multiple reports, can use different nd multiple data sources and schedule your reports as well as other users can sign up for subscription and get reports in their email
What do you dislike about the product?
More learning material should be provided for a user so that they can use the tool more effectively. It also could have a student or developer version where people could learn how to use it before getting an enterprise version
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My office work requires me to create reports and views in the dashboard and monitor it. Tableau desktop helps me monitor the reports, create new ones and make sure the management has right access to it

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is an excellent bridge to ingest raw data and convert it into a story. Our firm leverages tableau to showcase real time information to our Partners. Migrating to tableau has reduce Partner calls and increased their satisfaction in our communication time.

Our firm uses tableau to generate real-time reports from sales reports, operational break, etc.
Great tool to consume business figures for production.

I best like the level of customization capable with this tool.

The configuring of the data presentation can be a bit complicated and difficult.

Understanding production levels and efficacy are problems being solved. Knowing where improvements can be made is what is realized.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Request assistance in configuring the interface or be sure to do tutorials for this purpose. It will save you much needed time in the end.

The software can be slow at times and can cause issues with your work. It would be safe to have a tableau public account to save the work in the cloud.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to link the Tableau server to our company's data analytics platform.

At first, I found the available training/tutorials to be somewhat weak. I was mostly self-trained/trained internally.

We are visualizing data reports that we did not have an easy way to turn into graphs and visual reports before.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is User friendly and drag and drop the data, and tableau creates the chart for you. It's very useful to understand the trends. Tableau provides so many charts options to visualize the data. The processing is fast so you can manage large data set in tableau.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are from a non-technical background, so tableau is complex to learn if we compare it to Power BI.
Tableau is more expensive, and you can not create a custom visual in tableau.
You have to invest some time in training if you want to use it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I created reports for the finance team in tableau. We have reports in excel, and its very complex to use and understand, so we created reports in tableau. Tableau is user-friendly and everyone can easily analyze the information.

The Tableau community is great for learning and I appreciate that many recent features came at the request of users.
What do you dislike about the product?
While many different things are possible in Tableau, the solution or method is sometimes very hacky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau Desktop is our main tool for producing dashboards and reports for our analysis. It's quicker and easier than many other options and combining it with Tableau Server allows us to easily share properly permissioned reports.
Powerful in the right hands
What do you like best about the product?
We recently onboarded new talent with full Tableau experience, and the change has been remarkable in terms of the value the tool brings. In the right hands, it is giving us new levels of insights and visualisation than ever before. It seems to offer the flexibility we need in terms of formatting and data sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
It remains a tool with a steep learning curve, where proper skill sets truly matter. I wouldn't recommend it for the uninitiated, and it requires a full data brief in order to not get lost down all of the options available. When working in the online version it can also be quite slow, something we're working on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Tableau to generate reports on data sets that are external to other tools we use, or where those tools have insufficient reporting capabilities. It has become a keystone of our reporting portfolio, and with the right analyst it is now providing us with beautiful reports for clients and internal purposes alike.
