Valuable for real-time decisions; takes more time to build up a useful dashboard than you'd think
What do you like best about the product?
I like that once you have designed an effective dashboard, you don't need coding abilities to make data-informed decisions because the visualization software is responsive and insightful. You can play with numerous scenarios while at your desk and get some data-driven insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't particularly appreciate how few people understand how much work is required to create a genuinely valuable dashboard. It's laborious, iterative, and time-consuming to get an available draft up. Most people don't understand the amount of labor. It helps to have a champion in management at your back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm primarily using it for lead generation and prospecting. We can use this software to decide who is (statistically) worth pursuing. We can find little insights about our most valuable customers that we might have overlooked.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend you are:
a) championed by a management team who understands how much time it's going to take to iterate your way into a tool that flows well with your broader work processes,
b) be ready to accept that you're going to have to find your own time to invest because it will take more than people think

What do you like best about the product?
Basically, Tableau makes things that would be difficult very easy to accomplish. It allows you to create compelling visualizations that are far more impactful than a standard spreadsheet. This is the tool to use if you want to convey complex and detailed information in an easy to understand, yet detailed way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Tableau makes easy things like formatting oddly more complicated than it needs to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Tableau to convey the performance for our overall fundraising team,our dashboards allow us to create and share insights that we've never been able to in the past and we know that these insights are relied upon and readily consumed.

What do you like best about the product?
In my opinion nothing is as good at creating intuitive and useful visualizations of huge data sets. It can do an awful lot with very little input from the user and just has an organic feel to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is pretty complicated, though that is probably unavoidable. I also can sometimes struggle finding a specific report in the myriad of prebuilt ones in the company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's important to be able to see trends and insights from large data sets in a way that numbers alone cannot do. Tableau makes it easier to see what the real impacts are and where our weakpoints are.

It does take some getting used to but with a little practice you'll start to see your data more clearly than ever

What do you like best about the product?
I found the customer support very prepared and very helpful, even in the case of video calls to better understand the problem and propose possible solutions. I find this platform very useful to quickly understand some data insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it slightly difficult to understand how to manage spaces, the fact for example that to insert text you need to insert a container is not very agile. Also, there are some cool features, such as the ability to enter your organization's color palette, which are only possible in the desktop version, it would be interesting to have them in the mobile version as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The usefulness of the tool lies in the fact that it is possible to show my team or potential customers the data in an easily understandable way, so that after my first analysis, for them the message that the data brings with it is immediately understood.

The costing is a big factor, through which we are unable to procure many licenses of Tableau. Plus the data needs first to be standardise before linking with Tableau.

Data Analytics: Since our organisation had wide variety of Data with just excel to be used and create graph it would be becoming quite challenging for us to take proper decisions.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau, in its purest form, is a drag-and-drop, real-time way to build insights out of datasets small and large. The tool is agile enough to connect to any data source and intuitively blend based on selected relationships.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you're impatient like I am, Tableau's performance takes a hit when identifying values for filters for discrete, categorical variables. Once initially scanned, the performance increases significantly.

Our group is tasked with insights from a mountain of data, and Tableau offers an effective bridge between researchers and internal customers. Data tools are quickly built and deployed based on user-specific needs.

The one thing i dislike is percentile calcs. You need all the data to use percentile calcs and that is not even an issue it is how it should be done. But many people get messed up

It provides us insights to our business and tells us through charts where we stand in terms of our business strategies. It provides easy understanding to management when it comes to numbers
