What do you like best about the product?
The software has the benefit of being able to work with practically any database and being simple to use simply dragging and dropping to build an interactive graphic that expresses the required format.
What do you dislike about the product?
when it comes to machine learning projects, We cannot use Tableau for the data cleaning part. we have to use another way or software for our data cleaning and pre-processing part. Only we can use cleaner data set for analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using this Tableau Desktop software for my machine learning projects and data analytics. It helps me to create a proper visualization dashboard which can more understandable for the customers
Tableau Desktop - All your data needs
What do you like best about the product?
What I like the best about Tableau is how easy it is to use and how many brilliant features it has to offer. You can visualize and customize your data to present it. Tons of easy-to-use features present can help you visualize your data. Tableau Desktop can make you fall in love with data and the pleasing charts, dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not everything is perfect, even though Tableau offers a variety of robust features, sometimes it can be pretty slow. With huge datasets, sometimes it can take a long time to load your datasets. That's the reason people prefer other BI tools over Tableau sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently using Tableau Desktop to learn about data visualization and making reports. I have worked with Excel and Power BI, but Tableau Desktop has turned out to be much easier to understand. Not only that, a beginner can learn everything they have to about data, by just starting using Tableau, it's very intuitive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My advice to anyone considering Tableau Desktop is, it's a great application for BI, it's really intuitive and beautiful. It has a lot to offer. Another great thing about it is that it's free for students, so they can learn about data visualization.
Tableau is very expensive, and competitors are catching up quickly
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is clearly very powerful. It can visualise huge amounts of data quickly and can connect to a number of different data sources
Visualisations look good (on the whole) and with sufficient training, analysts can create useful dashboards with relative ease

What do you dislike about the product?
There are many things I dislike about Tableau. I shall try to be brief.
1 - Broken data connectors. Some critical data connectors are broken - and have been for some time. If a Google Sheet contains a pivot table, Tableau cannot connect to it. This has been a known issue for years and shows no sign of being fixed
2 - Random crashes. I have lost count of the number of times that mid dashboard build, suddenly, *poof!* Tableau Desktop just disappears. Reopen and no auto-save, not even a "Sorry we crashed" message
3 - Huge learning curve. Whilst you can make basic visualisations pretty easily (if you can do a pivot table you can do a viz) to do anything more complex requires a lot of learning. Don't even get me started on how difficult it is to lay out a dashboard
4 - A system built on workarounds. There are so many things you want to do in Tableau that are possible in other software packages that are impossible to do "out of the box" with Tableau. So many of the official knowledge base guides say "not supported, but here's this workaround to have the same effect"
And on the licensing structure specifically:
6 - For a data-driven organisation, a viewer licence is basically pointless unless you have a huge bank of highly proficient analysts churning out perfect dashboards that need no further alterations or adjustments by the end user. This necessitates everyone to either have no licence or an Explorer licence
7 - Explorer licences are expensive - and for a smaller company, prohibitively so. The jump from the features Viewers have access to vs Explorers is huge. Most of the time, our Explorers just want to add a new field or filter, yet we have to pay the full cost of an Explorer licence to use 5% of the features. There should be a "Viewer+" or "Editor" that is more expensive that Viewer, but allows for simple and small modifications to dashboards.
8 - Discounts are time limited. Don't be fooled by the 25% reduction in licence cost when you sign the contract! They only last for 1 year and then all discounts get removed once you're locked in
Overall, if you're able to, I would recommend a free alternative like Metabase. The stupidly high cost of Tableau just isn't worth it and cheaper alternatives are getting better all the time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to democratise our data to the business to empower end-users to answer their own questions without relying on Analytics to answer them for them
Tableau Desktop with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
The integration and data import are seamless. It gets refreshed very quickly as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that it does not store username and password, I have to enter them every time I want to refresh that data source
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can connect multiple data sources right now in addition to Smartsheet and trying to visualize data for the better performance analytics
Tableau Review By a Six Sigma Consultant
What do you like best about the product?
I have used Excel all my life . Once I came across tableau software, I started using it.During the initial days the tool had so many drawbacks. Despite that , I used tableau for Data visualisation, Dashboard creation, publishing interactive dashboards, Data analysis on complex data
What do you dislike about the product?
The list of things that I wish Tableu paid more attention is that, Latency issues, Slowness , Tool crashes frequently when the data is heavy. The user interface can also be worked out a little bit. Power BI has a comprehensive UI than Tableu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analysis
Dashboards creation
Interactive data visualisation
Data Connected from various sources
The tool can attract more users if it can solve the latency and slowness

It's really easy to use for any person with basic data viz knowledge. The flexibility to create custom views, the control users have on the view while creating dashboards and stories.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is costly compared to other BI alternatives and doesn't provide that level of data modification options when we compare it to the likes of Microsoft Power BI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am mostly solving business-related problems for my organizations, where I show them their client & customer segment, categories where they are lacking and what improvement they need.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best BI app for visualization with high performance, if money is not an issue.
Tableau Review by a Software developer
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau Software was one of the most commonly used BI tools in our company next to Power BI. Tableau helped us to visually represent the data which is retrieved from more than one source. The tool also helped us in publishing the data in the form of a dashboard to multiple users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is used to get hanged when the size of the data is huge. Tableau should think about redesigning the User Interface. The user interface is very outdated when compared to Power BI. If the user interface is easy to use, then the number of Users who will prefer this tool will also go higher
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Analysis
Dashboard Preparation
Visual representation of data
Interactive dashboards
Decisions are taken with the help of the data
Accessible by multiple users at the same time

Tableau Desktop Review
What do you like best about the product?
It is an easy-to-use BI Tool that allows a non-IT user to start creating dashboards. Further, as an experienced BI Developer, I like the flexibility to create custom views and the flexibility of using sets and parameters.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is slightly more costly compared to the other BI Apps like PowerBI or Data Studio these are much cheaper and provide additional functionality eg: power query.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I make huge amounts of data into simple digestible charts that are easy to understand for the business users and clients who need to make business decisions based on the data.
