A very intuitive and easy-to-learn tool

  • June 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- It is a very easy and intuitive tool to use. Unlike PowerBI, it took less time to learn how to use the tool.
- The integration with external applications (in my case MySQL) was very simple.
- A lot of documentation both from Tableau's official page and from the community in various forums and video platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only disadvantage would be not having a free version of the program. Although it offers a 14-day free trial, it was not enough for me to learn everything this tool offers, and it is also not enough time to gain experience with the program if one wishes to excel in jobs where it is needed. Although it is an easy-to-use tool with several very practical functionalities, I could not afford the constant use of the application for financial reasons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The fact of presenting deliverables to management quickly and effectively.

What do you like best about the product?
It nearly has all the necessary functions to create any kind of visualizations.
It is easy to use and learning the basic requirements don't take a lot of time.
Powerful visualizations can be created using tableau
What do you dislike about the product?
I did come across few things that I felt were missing such as data cleaning.
A user would have to do all the data cleaning beforehand
When it comes to visualizations, even if some functionalites are missing there are always alternatives to achieve the same task in Tableau
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Creates powerful visualizations in short time which other wise would have taken hours to do in other softwares
2. Derives strong insights from these visualizations which was difficult by just looking at the data

I feel Tableau has been a necessacity for me being as it provides the best support for analytics

What do you like best about the product?
I think the UI elements and the ease of navigative the software puts Tableau in the first position. The amount of features provided to play with data and get into the depths of it to uncover statistical measures, forecasting etc is totally a game changer. Second, being a student, I really loved the fact that the company went above and beyond to provide free license for students for a year which really gets up to the game with this industrial forefront tool! It has made analystics implementation easy and it super portable as it can be integration with OLAP as well as OLTP operations including both local and cloud
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no concrete dowsnsides apart from the fact that it is a bit expensive for people who are looking to learn and not in an organization
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For a lot of academic projects, I was dealing with a lot of data-driven projects where I needed to come to a conclusion regarding measures, features etc. This was possible through Python as well. But, I feel Tableau provided more flexibility and room to understand and play with it as you like till it makes sense for your current problem statement.
