What do you like best about the product?
Super easy and user friendly way to quickly analyze vast data sets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to drill into underlying raw data (requires server access).

Quickly analyze large data sets to identify trends, outliers, and/or anomalies.

Great tool for quick data visualization

Easy to learn for a beginner and allows lots of options for advanced users as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the more advanced features are not very intuitive. Better documentation required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualization of financial data to analyze patterns and anomalies with the aim of driving business growth.

Undergo Tableau training sessions to make full use of Tableau features.

Tableau joins are not that great if there several tables with a lot of filters.

It's often hard to connect different data sources and some connections are weak (Google Analytics, Marketo). You also can't connect to a table and then to another table, the middle has to be the main source

Color scheme options are limited to boring schemes.

Watch the given tutorial video(s) although they are lengthy. There is a lot you can do with tableau.
Great way to visualize data
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is amazing and the way we visualize data there is very convenient and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very limited amount of statistical features provided
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualization and analyzing data
Robust system with a minimalistic interface
What do you like best about the product?
It allows us to access our data using a variety of parameters to get at the specific data points that we need. It is the most robust system that we use. Plus, the "Dictionary" function is particularly helpful when looking for an obscure report or onboarding new team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quick time-out on the product (both from within each report - as the report will default back to original settings - and from an account automatic log-out) is counter-productive when trying to multi-task. The interface isn't particularly attractive, and it can sometimes be confusing to navigate. A less Tableau-responsible issue is that our data isn't updated in real time (there is a +1 day delay on all of our data between our internal database and Tableau).

Internal reporting, this is how we access our internal order data from our subscription service.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a good system if your business fits within one industry category (example, ecommerce only). If you have multiple sectors of your business, then you might need this in addition to another reporting feature depending on how you can tie your order system into Tableau.
Easy Platform for Sharing Tableau Dashboards
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to publish dashboards from Tableau desktop to Tableau Server in order to share them with users throughout my company. Tableau Server allows user access to be customized so people can view exactly what is relevant to them. Users can also download reports and dashboards for offline use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau Server can be slow at times depending on the internet connection. It is also somewhat glitchy at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau Server allows us to share dashboards and reports to users throughout the organization. It is easy to access via an internet connection and can be accessed using a computer or mobile device.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a lot of people that will be viewing Tableau dashboards this is a cost effective and easy way to do it. It is a much better option than emailing large Tableau files to each user.

The simplicity and ease in which I can maneuver my data & how interactive it is.

Sometimes it’s a little “techy” and can feel over my head, but I’m learning the format.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Year over year and month over month comparisons between data sets and analytics breakdowns.
Data Insights for Sales
What do you like best about the product?
I like the customized reports the system makes into easy to use slide decks. I also like the level of depth into the data the system goes. We really like using it to dig into customer success and creating case studies for prospects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on the report pulled, it can be very slow to load. Occasionally the reports are not easy to manipulate and need to be set up by an administrator.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it in sales heavily. The software allows us to demonstrate value of our services to our customers.

Make sure you have a strong set of data and take time to set up the most relevant reports.
