Initial thoughts on Tableau
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve just begun using Tableau, but I’m impressed with how intuitive the software is. The visualizations that can be created and manipulated by the end user provide a tremendous about of value when using data to tell a story.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time, the cost of the licenses is the only negative.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When providing data to a large audience, not everyone is trying to draw the same conclusion. By providing a fluid visualization, individuals can use the viz to draw their own conclusions rather than viewing a static report.
Great way to share and collaborate analytics
What do you like best about the product?
I love that anyone in my org can view my dashboards and visualizations without needing the Desktop suite installed. it makes things fast and easy for them to be able to dive into the data..
What do you dislike about the product?
Its a little hard to get data out of Tableau Server into programs like Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using it to share business results and KPIs for a variety of consumer product sales and supply chain data.

Its a great tool that can help step up usage of Tableau at your company!

What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is little higher and is difficult to get approvals from higher management.
We have to ensure that the formatting is proper else the visualizations go haywire

The way filters work! Some times it’s very difficult to see which filters are applied and so on

Built a lot of dashboards for various healthcare quality management audits to go through the various processes and visualise the different aspects of a QMS

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that it is easy to use and learn. Very effective tool to present data.

I do not have anything that i dislike about it so far.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is changing the game with its state of the art reporting software. Being able to connect to our CRM, marketing automation and even uploading excel documents, Tableau provides a slick interface that provides a great user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a little ramp up period in the beginning where you may need to go through some training in order to fully understand all the capabilities of the software. Luckily, Tableau has an immense amount of trainings and resources available to help!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to report on data sets and provide reports to our executives that help drive how we do business as well as the most profitable areas for growth.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's super powerful but be prepared to take time and really dig into all that the software has to offer.

User friendly tool. Could do so much with bI tools like tableau

I wish it has etl in the suite of products that it offers

I have created so many useful visualizations, which can’t be created in any of the BI Tools

It is one of self explanatory tools available in the market, could do wonders if you know how to use it.
Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
Tabelau is incredibly easy to use, for all skill levels. It’s a very productive tool and hosts many functions for all needs

Nothing in particular stands out. More use with the software may provide some insight on this though

Tableau is incredibly efficient for modeling data and picking up trends
Great high powered Data Viz system
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is an industry leading software package, and for multi-user use, the Tableau Server is the backbone that makes it all work. On a daily basis I login to our Tableau Server and use reports we have built to show our base line metrics. Being able to have automatically refreshed data at my finger tips is a real blessing compared to the old OLAP pivot table days.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a non-profit the Licensing fee for the Tableau server can price out some of the most helpful uses. We have had multiple occasions where we have been unable to justify the cost for a server license for someone, which is never what users want to hear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing reporting and Data via the Tableau server has cut out time that was previously wasted to create and then maintain reporting that was not always visually consistent. It gives everyone the exact same data to look at, instead of people using other tools to pull the data separately, which is and always will be a huge issue.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Connect with the Tableau beta testing process, that way you can see what is on the horizon. Then you can plan ahead and upgrade your Tableau Server as needed when the updates become available.

What do you like best about the product?
It makes life so easy for end users without much of Technical knowledge
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot do data preparation and the back-end work, need to rely on technical team or other data prepping tools like alteryx
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Preparation of storyboards and dashboards for sales and marketing data to analyze the revenue yearly, monthly and quarterly along with the sales and revenue in particular regions and sectors

Tableau is gearing up with hyper and Maestro so hang on to Tableau . It will get better soon
