Robust data visualization platform.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau's ability to connect to different sources of data has impressed me most. By providing me with native connectors, optimized for different database types and the ability to connect to different file-based data sources like cube, PDFs and spreadsheets, Tableau makes it possible and straight-forward to extract critical insights at scale from data generated from our customers interactions with our services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau has limited offline capability . Also, Tableau is resource intensive and I do not find its data preparation capabilities to be robust enough , especially when I require extensive data cleaning and enrishment. Tableau's performance tend to fall behind that of standard data preparation tools in such cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My job role as a product marketing analyst, exposes me to large extensive datasets around market trends, customer behaviour and product performance. I rely on Tableau to efficiently analyze these datasets and extract valuable insights from them. The ability to extract quality insights from day to day generated data using Tableau, has enhanced the quality of decision making across my company.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Tableau is that it can be connected with almost all the datasources, thus we do not have to worry if the dataset will be compatible with Tabkeu or not.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there can be lag in showcasing the data when the datset is either large or from different datasources. Othere than this the overall experience had been wonderful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau helps to present the data in a more brilliant way that is more convenint for the users to narrate to the end users.

Salesforce CRM Analytics

What do you like best about the product?
I am using Salesforce CRM every day as one of our main tools with RingCentral to help customers and businesses. I can see my pipeline and manage my deals effectively. I can create a customized report and see all the data I need in a dashboard. I can also check all the customer information that I need as a Sales Account Executive. This is also the tool that we use to set up a new account or process a change order for the customer's plans and services. Another good thing about it is that it is integrated with all the other applications that we are using at work. It helps all communications between RingCentral and its customers be centralized. That's why I find it very helpful, easy, and manageable to use. Lastly, it has a guide and support if you need help with something that you don't know about.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like everything about Salesforce CRM!!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Salesforce CRM is one of the main tools that I am using as a Sales Account Executive with RingCentral. Without it, I will not be able to do my job and provide assistance and support to our clients and customers.

Tableau is the bees knees when it comes to creating gorgeous and beautiful interactive dashboards. I used it at my previous job, and became a whiz at it! The best way to describe it is like the most versatile visualization tool out there! It's like magic!

There is nothing I dislike about Tableau! I love everything about it! 😊
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau solved our issue of how to give leaders from all teams at EverQuote a place to view their P&Ls.

Mostly easy to use data visualisation.

  • October 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can very quickly and easily put together basic data visualisations. The ability to run on a live datasource connection allows for automation of even fairly complex reporting and the documentation and community is mostly helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
How tableau handles data aggregation and level of detail can be unintuitive, the lack of a FORMAT function makes some tasks more chalenging and how tableau blends data is still a bit unclear to me requiring an extra layer of validation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy and appealing data visualisation and automatically updating reports.

Easy integration with interactive storytelling capabilities but needs to improve data preparation features

  • October 06, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case of Tableau was in conjunction with Salesforce to enhance my data visualization and analysis capabilities.

Tableau empowers users to delve into their data deeply, effortlessly unlocking valuable insights and critical information. It's got a user-friendly interface and extensive visualization capabilities that allow me to create compelling reports and dashboards that help me make better decisions.

How has it helped my organization?

Tableau has greatly enhanced our organization's data-driven decision-making processes by enabling us to create visually compelling reports and dashboards.

This capability has led to better communication between teams. Despite some limitations associated with custom data connectors, Tableau has proven to be an invaluable tool for aggregating data from multiple sources, offering us a complete view of our operations.

This comprehensive perspective has allowed us to identify trends, make informed decisions, and optimize our strategies, ultimately leading to increased efficiency and competitiveness in our industry.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Tableau for our organization have been the interactive storytelling capabilities and easy integration with Salesforce. We can create visual descriptions of data, making complex information accessible and interesting to all sides. This feature enables us to effectively communicate data-driven insights.

In addition, our integration with Salesforce provides access to critical sales data in real-time, which facilitates quick decision-making and improves customer relationship management. Together, these features enable us to get the most out of our information assets, which helps us to develop informed actions and strategies.

What needs improvement?

Tableau is excellent at visualizing data, however, I think improving the data preparation features would be a great addition. Navigating through activities like cleansing, reshaping, and wrangling extensive or complicated datasets could prove challenging within the Tableau environment.

Also, the settings for working with complex datasets also need to be changed. In the next version, it would be good to add user-friendly resources for beginners, such as interactive tutorials and templates, to make Tableau even more accessible to a wider audience.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for more than three months.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used a range of solutions to find the best one. I haven't switched; I'm using them at the same time.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated QlikView.
