Great Visualization tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which we can connect with any data source, like SQL, Microsoft Access file, or even a JSON file is very handy. I loved the way how we can create some dashboards just dragging and dropping and thus creating a story from the dataset.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that Tableau should add is creating complex SQL queries within Tableau and not just keep it limited to JOINS. Just as in Power BI, we can do more complex SQL queries similar funcationalities should be added within Tableau
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being working in a Healthcare Industry, we get to solve business problems related to healthcare data and predicting the flow of patients. We realized that using Tableau the charts, and visualizations are easy to create and thus we directly see the story instead of evaluating the data. Applying filters and directly able to see the required data is something which helps a lot while solving certain business problems
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This software which even if compare with other visualization tools is very much handy and of great use. The Tableau server serves the purpose of creating some cool dashboards and creating data stories of the datasets that we are having. Instead of just considering this as a visualization software, it is software, we can do a lot within itself and hence reduce the hassle of using any other products or software for other purposes.
Solid Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Salesforce is great because it is so customizable and versatile. I'm able to customize it to my needs to make myself more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Salesforce can run slow or have compatibility issues with other software. But it is pretty infrequent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Salesforce Analytics enables us to organize our sales data and make more informed decisions. A benefit Salesforce has provided is making the company more efficient.
Easy and excellent tool for visualization
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy tool to understand and use. It works on SQL so it is really easy to handle data. Plus calculated fields make it easier to drive analysis in an efficient way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, it is an excellent tool. But while adding calculated fields, i would suggest if they could add some common formulas. Like while creating population density by zip code. When there is zip code and population available in data set, and it would be helpful if you can have pre-defined calculated field made already!
Likewise there are more use-cases which could be really helpful while analysis.

I use tableau for visualization. I have created dashboard to keep track of all major parameters in my team.

Perfect BI tool for our needs
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is very powerful, and also intuitive. This means there can be a degree of self-serve within our business, to compliment the purpose-built reports by our Business Intelligence analyst.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some of the more bespoke needs, the functions may not be available or work as expected. You can usually manage a work-around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As real-time reporting, analysis and dashboards.

What do you like best about the product?
User friendly. it can create very nice graph and charts and map within a couple of clicks.

Complicated data sets joining might cause performance to slow down.
It's hard to tell and understand the join with tableau desktop
Currently, I am connecting to SQL server then after i am making the changes in Desktop, i publish the datasource to server. Additional Changes that i want to make to the datasource and republish sometime does not function correct (did not take the update).

Data cleansing and visualization for BI. Share the datasource and visualization via Tableau server helps with the data standardization and consistency

It's a great tool. if you want to launch it at enterprise level - leverage tableau Server. Tableau Desktop can get expensive. But to get started with license it's low cost of entry

On the fly BI tool with rich visualizations and Dashboard features
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau has changed the BI world a lot. It has brought in a software, using with business user can create dashboard & reports on the fly and can check what is there inside. It allows the user to read through the data and derive the insights without much technical analysis. First it can connect to any database (I know about 44 database it connects) and you can set the data, slice the data needed for current analysis and then you can do quick reporting. It provide multiple features, like different charts, graphs and tables and mathematical and statistical functions for analysis. Once you have create multiple visuals you can put them onto one dashboard or multiple dashboards into a story and present the same to business
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though it has rich features but it can support the Enterprise BI needs like business object or Cognos does. It does not provide all the feature for E L T (extraction, load and transform) which requires complex transactions. As data gets huge the graphs and charts become unreadable. also, this software is more useful to the business user for personal purpose than company wide reporting etc. The administration part of it needs a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Tableau for Visualization BI apart from having Business Objects for reporting. We have created a story for a given subject with all the related information to present to the user. It gives a quick glance on what is happening on the sales of drug for a pharma company that I worked. Migration from non-prod to prod is very easy (unlike other BI tools). Cost of the project reduces a lot with Tableau for BI projects

Need to bring it more to the people and make some more marking to increase the adaptability

What do you like best about the product?
It helps to analyze data to create insights that cannot be seen from the data. It helps to build a story for the data and make better business decisions for the stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Tableau that it is not open source. I mean it has trial version but after that we have to pay for it to use it. Atleast, they should've released a open-source version with less functionalities for public use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Any business problems can be solved. Anything problem that has complex data will need visualizations and this tool is best choice for that.
Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
I love that everything was intuitive and easy to figure out. When I first started using Tableau I didn't have a lot of experience with software like it. I was able to learn quickly and was able to create great visuals that made a difference in my presentation and projects. I like all of the different graph options and visuals.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't like that it would assume where you wanted to put certain data. If you wanted some data to be in a specific spot, you needed to drag it there instead of just clicking on it. There honestly wasn't that many things that I disliked about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to put together great visuals that helped strengthen my projects. I was bale to really persuade my viewers because I had information and data to back up what I was trying to say. I thought that the options of colors and types of graphs was strong.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tableau is super easy to use and really makes a difference. It is a great way to make use of data that you have. You can show others the data and have it actually make sense. It is easy to know where to put certain data to make a more effective graph or visual. There are great options on different types of graphs and unique ways to share that.
