The user interface It is not very easy to use and sometimes it can be a bit slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

One of the best visualization tool so far.

One thing i don't like is it is very hard to connect to SAS software has i use SAS tool to prepare data, and i need to use ODBC drivers to connect and sometimes in my organization it is not allowed to connect using ODBC drivers and lats thing it is very expensive tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to create reports, dashboards and prepare story line out it. Benefits are i can easily move from one tab to another tab easily and can create lot of filters in a chat and automate lot of stuff. I use server version to publish my report to buisness.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to work on large datasets and wanted to automate your reports and dashboard then this it the tool. They have lot of features and options that are not available in other visualization tools which I have used are oracle DVD, Crystal reports, Excel, SAS, power BI .
A very useful tool - but maybe outsource the report creation
What do you like best about the product?
We have a lot of sales who can't or don't like to pull data for themselves. Tableau is a great option to push data to a large amount of people in a user friendly way. There is also a ton of flexibility in the capabilities of the reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau reports take some skill to create - no everyone has the time to hone these skills. We outsourced the report creating to a vendor and have been very happy with what they've created
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sales Reporting and Quota comparisons. We will most likely expand into other areas of the business. It has been good for saving time.
EDI Inventory Quality Associate

The visual aspect of Tableau is great, I love using the dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't feel like different types of reports are organized easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use tableau to organize data to then target suppliers who are creating a negative inventory experience for our customers.
Great user interface. Tableau is the next big thing
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is great. Very easy to use. Tableau lets you make charts and dashboards quickly. These things used to take so much time in powerpoint and other tools. There are so many features that no one I know can say that he has a complete grip of everything that Tableau can do. We can also use Zip-terr files to plot maps.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing much dislike really. They also have a public desktop version for free use.
It can improve on the data import part though. The version with used had a bit of a complex system of importing data

Business intelligence.
We created analysis charts of sample distribution for a pharma client. Plotted the locations of the physicians on the US Maps.

A definite go-to tool. Tableau desktop helps in making much more elaborate, end to end analyses without much clutter.
Tableau is a good program

I like that I can pull reports based on my specific needs. It is a great program to help me analyze my business from different viewpoints.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that sometimes the server is down or pulls inaccurate information. Sometimes the information from Tableau and my internal business system differ.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau to pull sales reports and find opportunities for my business.
Great for visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is great for visualizing analytic-ready data. It's helpful for the end users to be able to interact with the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of work needs to happen before the dataset ever gets put into Tableau. Tableau is strictly for visuals, not anything else.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ways to automate monthly reports so all we need to do is upload to Tableau Server every month. It saves so much time once you put in the work up front.
Fantastic Software, User Friendly, but much more powerful after learning advanced skills
What do you like best about the product?
Simply said, Tableau presents data visualization in a way that is easier for new users to implement and outsiders to understand. You don't have to have a lot of skills to get started, in fact, someone with almost no experience could pick it up within a few hours of tinkering with it. On the flip side, for those who take the time to really learn it; learn the calculations, and what others have done, you can begin to do some great things with the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
To get into the more advanced calculations, there is a learning curve and it becomes a lot steeper when there are more specific tasks. I would say there are "limitations", but there almost always a way around them. In other words, if you want to do something specific, but can't figure it out, there's typically an alternate way to do it. Although you can complete, you ask, "Why couldn't it have just been done this way?".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There was not an easy way to visualize data. Sure, excel does do the trick, but when you're dealing with months and months of sales data over time for multiple campaigns you can't put all of that info in a single excel file. It simply doesn't work. Not to mention the added time to create graphs, charts, tables, etc. Tableau does it all in one. The benefit is doing more in less time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you manage large amounts of data and have to present that data to others, Tableau is the way to go. It makes it easy for you to manipulate the data in an attractive way. Then, for those who wish to view it can do so for free with the Tableau Reader.
Staying efficient with Tableau
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Tableau is how in depth it can go. I'm able to pull data from sources that I had no idea existed. It's quick and pretty easy to read. It also had great visual data, as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see organization done a little differently. Other than that, no complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Tableau has allowed me to monitor my team's status more closely than normal. The benefits have been data that I didn't know existed or that I could pull, which has helped my team become more efficient.
