Build your reports in a quick and simple way
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau offers multiple connexions to different datasources that will add more flexibility to your data analysis. Tableau also offers a collection of different data visualisations that can be easily customised. You can make your dashboard / reports interactive by using parameters and custom dimensions that will allow users to push input and use dimensions / filters for more insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
The live connexion to the datasources do not scale with the size of the dataset consumed. If you use live connexions on your database directly it might make it slower and less performant.
Another point to consider is that Tableau do not allow pushing values or charts using text fields, the only way to have numbers and charts pushed to the dashboard is through sheets.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick analysis and insights guaranteed. We use tableau desktop for analysis mainly and adhoc reports. With the use of tableau server, the tool helps our decision making as a company by providing a set of reports and dashboard that are critical to the business.

The 14 day trial and the student options when one need them
What do you dislike about the product?
Steep price, but unlike other software options at least there is something for you for the money, if you make money with tableau at least it shows nice graphs and visualizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using it for my MSc thesis to check the visualisation options developed in my own python code.

Basic graphics made with an easy drag and drop interface.

Not super user friendly when data “pills” need to be modified.

Data visualizations, allows me to sync and update a dashboard automatically which I enjoy.

I like being able to visualize all of the data based on customers, sales, costs, etc. It really helps us figure out what is working best and/or what needs to change.

It seems a tad difficult to get specific graphs for specific data, but once you figure it out it's fine.

We are taking all of our internal data and improving our marketing techniques by figuring out what is working best for us.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of adding multiple data sets. The "pill format" and the relatively quick computing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to move around multiple worksheets at a time (in a dashboard). Can't copy and paste worksheets in a dashboard.

The types of inflexible graphics. They are of better quality and I can rest assured knowing that your data and analysis are accurate and governed and protected.

Outstanding tool for data Visualization and Analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau Desktop is the premier software which comes to your mind when we talk about presenting the data in an eye-catching visual manner and then do the analysis on that data to recognize trends and patterns. The tools offered by Tableau is top-notch for visualization and preparing your data in a graph, chart, map or any other supported format which you like. The dashboard offered by Tableau combines a lot of information into a single screen because of which we are able to read and understand the vast amount of information in a very little time and do the Analysis in a much accurate and timely manner.
Another favourite feature of mine is the ability to support almost any data source or database whether it is Excel, CSV, MQSQL etc. It can also ingest data from multiple sources at the same time, in its latest version which is a huge help in terms of gathering the data simultaneously and then joining them together to get meaningful information.
The Show me feature is another winner from tableau because it suggests you different graphical form based on the type of data which you input. They may not always be accurate but still preety good. The ability to import huge datasets into a single palce and then to predicitie analysis based on them has helped us to prevent many frauds and breaches by recognizing them early.;

What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest issue with Tableau Desktop is that it does not have Tableau Prep included in the base price because most of the time, we need to clean the data before we can feed the data to the Tableau system. The cost is already pretty steep and then to buy these utilities separately is asking for too much from the customer pocket.
The learning curve associated with Tableau is also quite steep if you want to make the full use of advanced features and do the editing in certain parts of the graphs or charts. If you coming over from Excel then there is definitely going to be steep learning curve for you.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau Desktop has been everything we wished for and much more. Earlier we working on Excel and once we migrated to the this, we were blown away with the features, performance and execution time which it offered even for huge datasets. Now just with a few clicks, we get the raw data in an appealing and interactive format which we can present to the higher management and to our clients as well where they can provide their feedback and then remap according to all the inputs.
Our business has grown exponentially and the clients are also much more happier with the dashboard being presented to them and the risk management has never been better.

This is by far the most advanced and promising BI tools with eye-catching visulas and awesome stroy telling features in the latest version combined with the performance which it delivers even when interacting with very large datasets.
