Tableau provides what is necessary
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that Tableau provides the visuals of KPIs and they are easy for anyone to understand
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be a little tough juggling all of the Excel files that are needed in the first step

Providing great visuals of key metrics and they look great

Many different types of data displays and visualizations. Easy to use design once dashboard are developed. Fast processing engine when running input data and easy to connect to SAS for data upload. Easy to share with users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to learn for a beginner. For a nontechnical analyst this will require training to create dashboard. .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Display trends, heat map to identify sales trend for our products and drivers of changes.

Our data lives in multiple places, so Tableau helps us to combine that data in one place to gain better insight through all kinds of charts and views.

Tableau is a powerful tool, but can be confusing for beginners because, although there are so many features that can be leveraged, they can't all be learned until spending a lot of time within the product becoming a power user or reading through Tableau support resources.

Tableau helps us to compile multiple data sources and use them to see a more holistic view of our data.

I wish there were more hover-over options to explain what each tab/button means.

We are trying to objectively see our performance metrics such as average time per project per person.

Take 15-20 minutes to learn what every tab/button does.

I like that it's live and real time data.

If you aren't familiar with json it'll take some time to get use to.

What do you like best about the product?
it has the most powerful build in capabilities. also it allows some level of customization and work around. so far i think tableau's visualization is the best, so as its analytics functionality

still have some constrains. i know that people now can submit their request and people would vote. but i was hoping this taking people's request process can be faster

Tableau - A tool for Data Visualization
What do you like best about the product?
It helps us to visualize and understand data. Helps in business analysis, predict market trends. Caters to the needs of an organization. Can be integrated with different kinds of data sources like excel, csv, different kinds of databases like Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle. The latest version of tableau allows data from different sources to be accessed at the same time from different sources and create cross data joins. This helps in the analytics tremendously. Custom geographic locations can also be created using latest version of tableau.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need some understanding of statistics to use this software, cannot retrieve previous versions of the same file created. So, version management is a problem. Left joins cannot be created during data loading. These need to be created separately using blends. Dashboard interface is not easy to use. It's difficult to adjust and place the different sheets in dashboard while working on a laptop. takes up a lot of memory. High license cost. The data cleansing features of tableau needs to be improvised. It understands data only in certain predefined format. Loading and refreshing data is slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business Intelligence tool: Analyze sales, predict business trends, analyze profits/loss, analyze ROI. The enterprise data analysis has helped in making decisions and improve business.

Use tableau if you don't want to code. You can analyze the data in charts, bar graphs, pie diagrams form. This kind of visualization helps the marketing team to study the data.
Excellent Data Visualization and Analytics Server
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau Server is easy to implement in a Global Corporation in just few months. This is a very user friendly web based application so all users do not require any training. An analyst or data scientist can publish a report on the server, the users logon into the server from internet explorer or a mobile device and directly see the Dashboards in very trendy way! It’s a 3 steps process which allowed our Fortune 500 corporation to deliver quickly Dashboards and Predictive analytics to 5,000+ users in a click!
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau Server is not yet a real large scale enterprise tool, lack of compatibility with different browser versions, you can’t create sub-folders to a project which is pain point. The permissions options are also not the best way to manage security. But overall, the tool is so easy and user friendly that you forget most of the pain points and just wait for the next realease bringing every two months amazing new functionalities!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our Corporation is using Teradata with Cognos and Oracle e-Business Suite with Oracle BI. Tableau allowed our Corporation to provide quick access to amazing visualisions to a large number of users without have to involve developers, IT or scale our environment. We realized cost savings on network, infrastructure, developers and analysts. We also were able to limit the support using the Elite Support team from Tableau.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tableau Server is easy to implement. If you are implementing it in the Cloud, ensure to have the network connection ready before or everything is going to be painful to implement in parallel with too many dependencies. The tool is excellent and the adoption is fast, be ready to scale up!
