What do you like best about the product?
For an acceptable cost, you are able to monitor in detail your SQL server. Good overview, easy to use, easy to configure.
I configured some alerts by e-mail, then I'm sure to be informed in case of deviation.

What do you dislike about the product?
For my project, I had to buy 2 licenses as I have redundant servers. It is not possible to monitor only the primary server.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simply monitoring the health of my SQL servers...
Now I can focus on other tasks as I know that I will be informed in case of deviation.

In less than two years, it has become our go-to monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
As a consultancy firm specialized in database administration, we’ve been using Redgate Monitor as our primary monitoring solution for nearly two years. During this time, it has proven to be a reliable, intuitive, and highly effective tool for managing and optimizing our clients DBMS environments.
The interface is clean, setup is straightforward, and the performance analysis and alerting features are among the most complete we’ve encountered. The historical data and detailed insights have significantly reduced the time required for root cause analysis and performance troubleshooting.
One of the key benefits we’ve experienced is the ability to get a comprehensive overview of all monitored servers while still being able to drill down into the specifics of individual databases and queries. This has made Redgate Monitor not only essential for day-to-day operations but also extremely valuable during initial assessments of new client environments.
In short, Redgate Monitor has become fully embedded in our processes and now plays a strategic role in the quality and efficiency of the services we provide. It’s become our go-to tool.

What do you dislike about the product?
While the feature set is rich and the value is undeniable, pricing may be a barrier for smaller environments or clients with tight budgets. Additionally, some advanced customizations require scripting or integration efforts that might not be immediately accessible to less experienced users. Nonetheless, the overall ROI remains high for teams that rely heavily on proactive database management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Redgate Monitor helps us quickly identify performance bottlenecks, track query behavior over time, and proactively detect issues before they impact our clients’ systems. This has drastically reduced troubleshooting time and improved the reliability of the environments we manage, allowing us to deliver more value with less effort.
Excellent Product - an indispensible single pane of glass for monitoring Database instances
What do you like best about the product?
It's ease of use, attractive and intuitive UI, the sheer breath of metrics that can be reported / alerted on ( and filtered out if not needed) , the estate menu (backups, disk space and so on) is also very handy.
What do you dislike about the product?
No negatives to report - this is a great product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves me a lot of time. The opportunity cost is greatly reduced. Allows me an overview of my estate and to drill-through on issues quickly. Points out potential issues early and enables me to monitor and administer my most important database instances proactively and without fuss.
Essential SQL Server Monitoring: Redgate is life saver
What do you like best about the product?
Its centralized and user-friendly web interface is what really strikes me. Whether a database is on-premises, virtualized, or in the cloud, having a single dashboard that offers a thorough overview of the entire database estate seems incredibly efficient.
Another noteworthy feature, in my opinion, is the proactive and intelligent alerting system. Providing the in-depth diagnostics required to promptly identify and address the underlying cause is just as important as alerting you to an issue. In my opinion, database administrators greatly benefit from the ability to shift from reactive "firefighting" to proactive problem-solving.

What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to list the main things I don't like about Redgate Monitor, it would be the price. Despite its strong features, this may make it a less accessible choice especially when I have only 5 instances and I have to pay for all of them , no volume discounting
The procedure for installing updates is another issue that comes up from time to time with my tech team, Although the product is generally reliable,my team has indicated that updates aren't always as smooth as one might expect and sometimes call for troubleshooting.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my opinion, Redgate Monitor offers a straightforward remedy for the widespread issue of reactive database management. It enables me to take the initiative rather than waiting for a client to complain about a system outage or poor application performance.
Its ability to quickly locate and fix performance bottlenecks is, in my opinion, its main advantage. I can rapidly identify the precise SQL queries that are generating excessive CPU usage, I/O, or blocking issues thanks to its real-time monitoring and deep-dive diagnostics. This quick realization is priceless. For example, I can quickly view the problematic query, its execution plan, and related wait statistics if a client mentions that a particular report is operating slowly. This enables me to go straight to the source and eliminate speculation.
