Root Cause Analysis made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Finding root cause for problems has taken time off of troubleshooting and helped lower our Mean time to resolution on operations issues

The gui is a little hard to learn where things are. Its a very big application but I think that will just get easier with use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application issues and infrastructure contention issues are being found that we didnt know we had.

Journey with Dynatrace as a new Customer
What do you like best about the product?
The trained skilled resource pool of Dynatrace and the robust capability to monitor systems developed in a wide range of technology. Our company uses both cloud based systems and On-prem systems. Dynatrace is providing the capability to monitor both cloud and on-prem systems. It also improved our capability to find root cause of the issues more effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are still in deployment phase of Dynatrace. One recommendation would be to provide more documentation of integration with other monitoring tools in case Dynatrace can not provide all of the capabilities we are looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company did not have an integrated monitoring system for our critical applications. We were depending on various tools to monitor the systems. Dynatrace is providing integrated monitoring capabilities. We noticed that our troubleshooting and root cause finding capabilities improved significantly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to deep drive into the root cause of the issue you are facing day to day, Dynatrace is the tool to go. Please make sure you train you internal resources before implementing Dynatrace. Dynatrace has many capabilities. A trained resource pool will give you better return of investment.

What do you like best about the product?
the ability to see end to end transactions. super !I also really appreciate the fact that we can decompile code and go see developpers with something visual about issues. We can also share between operations, dev and also something we always forget , manager. With dynatrace we also avoid a lot of huge waroom like we used to have in the good old days . Those war room was taking precious time from my companies and where people being paid a lot of money was searching logs and logs and logs for issues . With dynatrace we can pinpoint to the exact problem in just a few click which is super duper great . I like the fact that more and more people in my organisation are using the tool which make the transfer of information easy . With th enew one agent , we also see all the information ( processes , services and such) with only a single installation . This installation is so easy that we were able to automate it . Really a nice product that I recommend !
What do you dislike about the product?
it is expensive. You need to be a part of a large enteprise to be able to use that product which make people from small company not able to use it . The rest is really likable I would say . If we would be able to get better prices , they could get more company to use the tool.

All the prod issue with user and browser are being solved with dynatrace .... great product ! I recommend it to anybody who wants to see insight in your application

Dynatrace helps with ease of troubleshooting incidents
What do you like best about the product?
I like the one click ability to see dependent services and how they might be impacted during an incident. Seeing dependencies and their flows, while also suggesting a root cause, helps speed up troubleshooting certain scenarios a lot. We have had several situations where a typical troubleshooting scenario would have taken several hours with multiple teams to isolate a specific root cause, only after clearing multiple other potential root causes one by one. With Dynatrace, we've had situations where we were able to get a clear arrow towards the true root cause. Given its accuracy, we've had the development teams learn to trust the accuracy of the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the user interface can be a little disjointed and difficult for new users to pick up easily. I think this is somewhat related to the wealth of features that Dynatrace offers - the current split of features can be a little overwhelming without formal training. It isn't impossible to pick up on the fly, but to really navigate the features can really take some time and handholding. Noted, this doesnt apply to all of the features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have identified root causes in applications more quickly, which help reduce the amount of time allocated to any particular incident. Weaknesses in certain dependencies upstream or downstream have also been easier to identify, which helps spur conversations with the developers and other related teams.
This tool has also freed up some time to allow our ops teams to focus more on automating other aspects of our platform.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a full fledged trial and see how itll work in the most optimal state in your environment. Be mindful of the budget you are working with, as the best functionality comes with an all-in with the tool when integration. Using it as a piece meal solution works, but it definitely is lacking.

Understanding End to End bottlenecks has always been an issue in troubleshooting end user complaints. Dynatrace not only provides full transaction tracing, but the ability to replay a customer's journey, allowing for quick fault isolation.

The ability to quickly identify and narrow down to the exact areas of issues. The tool has helped us identify various performance bottlenecks with the application. We were able to trace to the exact piece of code that was causing the maximum performance issues. We were also able to identify the issues with the application when used with various browsers. The pure path analysis is very helpful. The real user monitoring and session replays are essential to identifying the problem areas. The reporting done by business insights team is helpful each month.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the tool capabilities can be extended to include network monitoring as well. This will allow end to end analysis and will reduce lot of time going back and forth between application, data center and networking teams

Only infra monitoring is very costly compared to other tools in the market.

Solved multiple application related issues and provided great info to different Teams.

The software is very intuitive. I don't have to waste time trying to find correlations between events. I spend more time fixing issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. I have never seen software do so much out of the box.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software allows us to detect slowness that isn't related to infrastructure, but rather related to poorly written queries. We have far fewer P1 calls with entities who are not responsible for remediation because we have a better idea of where the problem manifested.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It was said that the IT team will not grow, but the number of applications will grow exponentially. This software will enable you to grow and survive.
