Easy to use, difficult to master
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of installation and implementation, and the sheer depth and insight that Dynatrace can provide to supported services and technologies.
What do you dislike about the product?
The steep learning curve, how long it can take to find what you're looking for sometimes, and the severely lacking dashboard capabilities and tools. Dynatrace is doing a lot in terms of intangible benefits - culture change, more responsibility, greater visibility. But I find myself actively having to push users to use the tool, having to teach them how to use it myself, and having to evangelise the benefits it can provide before most people actually buy into it all and start seeing benefits themselves for using the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our largest problems are cultural - very much a "chuck it over the wall" mentality with several groups in our organisation. Dynatrace helps us bring down that wall piece by piece, letting our production support teams show software developers real tangible data concerning their apps in production. Developers are getting more insight into how their changes are impacting the customer and are starting to care more about how their code performs outside of our lower environments.

Deep Dive into problem and root cause analysis. Easy to train users to resolve issues.

No dislikes but do wish had features to install on unix \ aix and exadata

Our company has utilized dynatrace for over a year and save roughly 14000 man hours of finger pointing!

What do you like best about the product?
The Davis AI gives us the ability to work on more meaningful work, rather than chasing down problem after problem. It also has drastically reduced our MTTR as well
What do you dislike about the product?
We feel that some of the pricing models should be adjusted. Both the custom metrics and synthetic monitoring (On-prem only checks) are quite high. For example - When we are doing Synthetic checks witin our own Datacenter, we should not be charged the same as when doing checks using Dynatrace datacenters around the world.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Incresed application performance. Decreased MTTR when problems come up. Determining Root cause analysis has been so much faster and more accurate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start small. Start using Dynatrace as a POC or on a smaller system (with real traffic). Seeing the tool work in your environment is like magic. You don't get the same feeling by seeing test data or screenshots, but your data being analyzed by Davis, then reporting a problem and determining the Root cause within minutes is amazing.

It is able to discover issues we would have never found with our previous tools.

It is so feature rich that taking advantage of all of them has been a challenge.

Been using it from last 3 months. not found one yet. I am sure i will found some soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduce the incidents for our customer facing applications. Resolve the issues before they hit the customers. I would like to know the issues before my customer calls me.

There is no auto-discovery of batch applications and creating custom services is a bit clunky.

Finding scalability concerns and root cause analysis. The visibility Dynatrace provides allows us to make better decisions when deploying apps and configuring infrastructure.

Ease of use is crucial. Dynatrace provides smooth scaling and insightful information quickly.

They have limited release notes and sometimes do not accurately inform their customers about updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a large infrastructure within GCP and need to identify network traffic between our instances as well as ensuring 99.9% uptime.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure you have a structured migration plan and fully utilize the vast amount of features offered by Dynatrace CMC. Integrations can generate lots of noise initially but after resolutions are in place Dynatrace operates very well.
