Excellent Product With Massive Insight to Detail
What do you like best about the product?
Dynatrace has the wonderful capability of providing accurate and detailed alerts for our on call team and help desk. Its web portal as well as mobile app allow our end users easy accessibility from where ever they are working to monitor the health of our servers. Dynatrace does a fantastic job of delivering organized alerts and coupling them into easy to read problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no complaints about this product. Ever since its roll out, its help our team be extremely proactive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to minimize the time of an outage on any of our servers and while our team is remote there is plenty of ways to be alerted via the app and email alerts. Also Dynatrace allows us to be proactive in the sense that we are able to see past failures and predict future ones thereafter.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your company hosts web applications, Dynatrace is an excellent product to manage production nodes.
Easy implementation and quick results
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of setting up the dynatrace installation. You create an environment and from there you can install the agents. This will make sure everything is in the right environment. After setting up the environments you will see data instantly and you can start troubleshooting issue's or get information about what is happening in your environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some technologies you need extra configuration to get the best value out of it. You have out of the box monitoring but for some technologies you want some more indepth information. Luckely Dyantrace can provide you that but it will take some extra work.
The same is true for dashboarding, it is simple to setup a dashboard with the measurements you got but if you want something custom it will take some more time, but it is posible to get it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding the slow spot in the environment and drill down to code level to see what is causing the issue. We also use the dashboard feature so that we have real-time information about are environment. We have found and solved memory leaks, debug code in production, misconfigured servers.
We also installed it on our acceptance environment to do a check of the patches that are beeing developed to see if they will solve problems or that they just make things worse.

Try this product out, I'll be sure you will get value out of this product. I have used it multiple times and always find it usefull for troubleshooting production problems and monitoring production.
Very hard to use if you are not a system engineer

It's a tool with lots of possibilities and you can find a well amount of insights

It is very hard to use if you are not a system engineer. But with some help and a huge amount of practice the tool will be usable

Although I do not see the benefits yet, we try to use it to measure the customer satisfaction

Dynatrace is easy to learn, but hard to master. This means that absolutely anyone is able to work with Dynatrace and the possibilities are endless.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see some AppMon features making their way to Dynatrace. But you guys are working on that :)

I use Dynatrace for different customers and use it to manage KPI's, monitor environments and stress tests.

What dont I love this product this product is amazing, its easy to install and configure and once its up and running the results are stunning.
I not only telles you when you have issues it tells you why you are having issues so you can pin point precisley what remedy you need to take.
Its so easy to use and as mentioned earlier results speak for themselves.

Its hard to try and come up with something I odnt like about this product it really is that good.

Its llowing us to diagnose where our issues are before they become Incidents.

What do you like best about the product?
Dynatrace was easy to install on our infrastructure and once installed the results were instant. Great diagnostic monotoring tool which looking back wonder how we used to manage without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the early stages it detects that much it made setting up the alerts a littel tricky a little too much noise, once this fine tuning was completed no issues.

Great tool for alerting us to the fcat that we may be about to have an issue giving us time to put mearsures in place to resolve

What do you dislike about the product?
-Navigating back to pages I viewed previously. Sometimes I found it difficult finding the same page I found useful whilst going through a number of pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps with 24x7 monitoring to various applications across the estate. Whilst also giving a good level of detail of where the issues lie such as which transactions are failing, which web pages are causing the issues, what errors are being found etc. It has helped in providing a high level of detail to vendors for issues found. It has helped for investigation to open problems that require a certain level of proof before proceeding with changes that could help re-mediate the issues found on the system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your monitoring tools aren't up to scratch and you're unable to understand some of the issues you're finding on your system, get Dynatrace. You won't look back.
Great tool but needs navigation improvements
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is great for drilling down in the depths of issues within a JVM. But it can be hard to find out what the issues are in the first place. The linking of endpoints to endpoints is useful to show where the problems may exist and the loading on those services matches how you think the system is being used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to see what the issues are in the first place. Once you have found the issue you can drill into it but it is not always visible/ see-able in the first instance what your issue is. Navigation paths can be unclear. Hard to get back to the place you where before and then compare one set or snapshot with another snapshot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring and analysis of JVMs and related servers/ endpoints in our Middleware stack. Shows which servers are being used the most effectively and then how we can re-balance those. Allows understanding on the JVM thread, memory, CPU and IO usage per service within each of JVMs helping us to see and monitor, and when needed, correct the usage of the service on our platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find an existing error you know the root cause of and then trace that through the tool so that you can understand how it works and what it is trying to tell you. This both shows you an error you know and helps understand how the tool works.

Dynatrace provides many options - is very flexible - when it comes to creation of your own dashlets/dashoboards.

Pretty much nothing. You need to have budget to get it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Dynatrace to monitor health of our servers and apps. It works very well preventing issues (e.g. server CPU is reaching 90%). We attached agents to our applications and have alert/notifications when something is not right.
As well we use it to get statistics on the usage of our apps (e.g. web pages, amount of incoming messages etc).

If you are using Appmon for the last few years and have got a lot of customisations according to your business or applications, I feel it's worth waiting for some more time before migrating to Dynatrace as the dynatrace has a lot of features missing from Appmon.
