All your UML Diagrams in one place

  • October 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Hub of creating all the UML (Unified Modelling Language) Diagrams, Networking Diagrams, ER Diagrams, Flowcharts, Business Organizational Charts, Venn Diagrams, templates for iOS & Android etc at one place is what is the basic use of Lucid-chart. It has excellent set of components which allows to combine them in a beautiful way to achieve great output as a set of large number of charts & diagrams. It's ability to denote the text annotations and various fonts and styling options is also useful. It has good integration facility with various applications like Google Drives, GSuite, Github etc. We can even export the diagrams in various file types
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is quite un-easy to connect the two objects using the association because the placement of the objects can be an obstruction for a linear line to be drawn as the software gives a sketch on a graph paper. Diagrams sometimes can be a bit different in output when exported as a pdf or image
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All the business charts and UML diagrams can be now easily drawn with the help of Lucid-chart. They can be collaboratively made or made individually and exported as a PDF, documents, image including a transparent PNG image with custom dpi settings which is great as it helps to optimize it to fit in various business requirements and provides optimized productivity. The integration capabilities with GSuite & Github allows easy collaboration and sharing across various business partners.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The software is recommended for all who want to work with UML (Unified Modelling Language) Diagrams, Networking Diagrams, Organizational Charts, templates for iOS & Android and are working on System Analysis & Design; especially the systems analyst will find this software of much usage in their professional business work. The software developers will get a lot of help through the use of this software as it gives a better picture of the thoughts. It is free for personal usage with a set of limited features and full features can be purchased for a small amount. Similarly, good pricing options are available for teams and to suit enterprise requirements.

A great solution for businesses which can also become better.

What do you like best about the product?
For both beginners and professionals, I feel that lucid charts provide a great number of templates for all different purposes. Not only ranging from coding or programming diagram tools for flow charts and data flow diagrams. However, there are templates for many more purposes other than programming. Business, economics, science, you name it, there is a template for that. Hence, the range is wider than Lucidchart's competitors. It has all the essential tools and templates. It does not dissapoint in that aspect.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lucidchart offers editing options that anyone would expect including shapes import, text & object alignment, and object size adjustment. However the drag and drop used to bring new shapes to the canvas is something I am not that fond of to be honest. Also the biggest weakness of lucidchart against competitors is the price point. It is expensive, especially for an individual who occasionally uses it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using lucid charts for computer coding and programming. Lucid charts really provide me with the professional templates I need to create program designs easily and conveniently. It makes the process of getting flowcharts especially easy and saves me a lot of times for diagrams like data flow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good choice if you have money to spend on it or if your organization is funding it. However the cheapest or even free competitors are not too bad either. Hence I dont know, check what requirements you have and choose accordingly.

Makes creating workflows a breeze

  • October 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Using Lucidchart is pretty simple, I especially enjoy the templates they have to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes selecting multiple objects to edit is challenging, and creating an arrow from one object to the next can be a little clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been creating marketing email workflows, Lucidchart makes it easy to digitize thoughts into action.

Easy to collaborate

  • October 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We frequently create diagrams that require multiple users to collaborate. With LucidChart, we can all work from the same source diagram, and make updates as necessary. This means we are always accessing the most up-to-date diagram, and don't have multiple copies of the same diagram in various stages of updates.

We can also export the diagrams as a PNG if we need to attach to our documentation, embed in an email, or add to a PowerPoint presentation.

We can also import our existing Visio diagrams so we can actively combat the issue with locally-saved source material.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the lines DO NOT want to make a straight connection and we have to increase the resolution in order to manipulate the line.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to avoid losing source material when someone leaves the company because the material is cloud-accessible. Any diagrams not shared with a larger audience are automatically transferred to the individual's manager in a single folder when they are removed from our licensure.

Great visualization of complex processes / dependencies

  • September 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating, and displaying, dependencies and processes that would, otherwise, be incredibly difficult to convey.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very small complaint but, I don't like the 'Enter' key exiting you out of text editing mode. Shift+Enter is required to add a new line when editing text. Again, small complaint but when making lots of edits quickly, it counts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to convey complex processes very quickly, which is beneficial for my decision-making as well as helping others understand the processes too.

Great low close visio dupe

  • September 25, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like all the objects and styles of charting available to me. The free version is good but the paid version, for such a low cost, is worth it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to visualize scale on the sheets. Sometimes you finish a graph and realize you were zoomed in and its tiny. Also hard to share your work unless you get everyone working in the product. Downloading to PDF is the work around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building process flows and org structures and floor plans all in one tool.

What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found a feature that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting process flows

Best solution for Software Engineering

  • September 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been doing various works related to software engineering for the University of Girona, and I can say that this product is very modulated and adapted for all of the diagrams that I needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the web application or de mobile application freeze and I have to close and reopen the diagram.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All related with my Computer engineer works.

Feels like I can diagram anything

  • September 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The templates and shape libraries get you started quickly; you can jump in an diagram anything even right in the middle of a meeting.
The quick ability to link items together and how it prompts for the next flowchart items - awesome. The UI wireframing is powerful. Basically to me it is the perfect compromise between something that is a powerful diagramming tool AND a great wireframe/mockup tool
What do you dislike about the product?
Minor things I dislike is the inability to hide the "Related Items" marketing box in the main view since I love using folders so much. Also some of the default styles are a little too rounded for my liking. I'm sure I could dig a little deeper into that.
It would be nice if it kept my default setting for not using the Line connections when I'm working on UI wireframes and mockups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this for wireframes, mockups, sometimes I'm doing hacked together graphic designs or graphics mocks. I'll use it for flow charts of course.
The main benefit is speed.
Organizing my shapes and templates I can create better wireframes faster.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dig into the templates you'll see so many great examples already pre built in there to really give you an idea of what capabilities it has. You may find the data linking a little intimidating but just for straight up quick diagrams this is awesome. And learn your keyboard shortcuts! My favorite is actually holding down space bar to drag the canvas around with my mouse.
