Improving onboarding and collaboration has revealed bottlenecks and supports agile workshops

  • December 15, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Our main use case for Lucidchart is for internal collaboration, where we use it to brainstorm and ideate in Lucidspark and then formalize into chart flows. Additionally, it helps us ensure that data is transparent, which we can demonstrate through data models in the same environment. Lucidchart also helps us map business processes and outcomes, customer journeys, and organizational charts for leadership and cross-functional alignment.

When mapping business processes and outcomes with Lucidchart, I can walk you through a recent example from our current project. We use it to brainstorm and ideate on projects we receive from clients. Since we work in Agile, we ensure that during sprint planning, we collaborate well with stakeholders and the product owner. We conduct a significant amount of brainstorming using the ideate feature in Lucidspark and then formalize this into chart flows. This is how we ideate and map business processes and customer journeys.

In addition to our main use cases for Lucidchart, we also use it for design and technical architectures such as cloud data microservices and ERDs, which often connect to similar systems and records like Jira, Salesforce, or other solutions.

What is most valuable?

The best features Lucidchart offers include multiple capabilities I personally love, particularly with diagramming, which helps us with flowcharts, BPMN, ERD, UML, organizational charts, and other diagrams with a good size of data-linked shapes and some conditional formatting. That is the number one feature which I love. Additionally, Lucidchart provides us real-time multiuser collaboration, which helps us ensure that everything is tracked in real-time. Other options such as present indicators, comment sections, and visual activities such as voting and groupings are also really good features that help us facilitate workshops and decision journeys.

The real-time collaboration provided by Lucidchart impacts our workflow significantly. For instance, in sprint planning, we have a proper collaboration session where the product owner tells us what needs to be included in our upcoming sprint. During this, we ideate on the boards using the tool, allowing us to visualize what can be done. This functionality gives good visibility of the board, ensuring that whatever needs to be done is apparent. It offers a variety of inspection options, and once things are transparent on the boards, the team can work on it in a solid way. That is why we use this feature, and it is my personal favorite.

The integrations with Lucidchart are also really good, as we use Google Marketplace solutions such as Google Workspace and Microsoft products, all of which work together. We utilize Jira and Confluence support, which integrates well, along with GitHub for our repository. Additionally, we use Salesforce for our CRM, and it smoothly connects with Lean and more, allowing us to integrate in real-time.

Lucidchart has positively impacted our organization by enabling us to identify process bottlenecks and architecture issues earlier, which improves our project outcomes and reduces network load. The metrics related to process bottlenecks and architecture issues have improved significantly by 61%. The identification of these bottlenecks, along with improved project outcomes and reduced rework, has decreased by almost 30-40%. Furthermore, it has helped in better visual communication and has accelerated onboarding and executive alignment, especially for hiring managers.

Lucidchart has accelerated onboarding and executive alignment by providing better visual communication between executives and teams, which has created a transparent environment. This transparency leads to productive and collaborative sessions, which is a major benefit.

What needs improvement?

Regarding improvements for Lucidchart, I feel that it works overall. The primary area that could be improved is the learning curve. I think it still needs some additional introduction, such as introductory videos or training for new users, as this platform can be overwhelming for those coming from a non-tech background. More advanced training or introductions could really help newcomers. Aside from that, everything is working, and I do not have any problems.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Lucidchart is definitely a stable solution. We did not face any downtime, bugs, or glitches.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Lucidchart has good scalability. It provides a solid technical solution, and whenever we need to upscale or downscale, we can do so according to the tier pricing. You can choose any tier you want by moving to a higher plan, so scalability is not an issue. I believe it is definitely a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Lucidchart is really good. We had an interaction with the team about six months back regarding an update issue we were facing on one of our systems. We contacted them, and they resolved the issue within 45 minutes.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment from using Lucidchart, as we have saved a lot of time, and the collaboration among teams has increased significantly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

In terms of pricing, setup cost, and licensing, I feel that Lucidchart has provided us with good plans, as we have purchased it through AWS Marketplace. We got team plans that run around nine to ten USD per seat, helping us with custom features such as SAML, SSO, and security automation. When discussing pricing, it is quite favorable compared to competitors. Licensing and other aspects have been managed through AWS, which has been very transparent, and we have not encountered unexpected charges.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate other options before choosing Lucidchart, including Microsoft Visio, Google Drawings, draw.io, Gliffy, and XMind, among others. These evaluations helped us understand the basic use cases, and we found that Lucidchart has been exceptionally better compared to them, which is why we have chosen it.

What other advice do I have?

I chose five for my overall rating because I feel that Lucidchart delivers everything we imagined it would provide as a technical solution. I do not have any problems with usability, scalability, or support. Everything is working. Our teams are experienced members, so they do not need the technical or introductory support I mentioned for improvements. That does not apply to us. That is why I feel it is a five from me. Lucidchart is a good solution and deserves a five from my side. I would advise that if you are searching for a solid remote collaboration tool, you can definitely go for Lucidchart. It provides good technical problem-solving capabilities, and you can conduct a lot of brainstorming for teams. It is a dedicated solution that suits organizations of all sizes, so whether you are a small, medium, or enterprise-level tech, you can definitely consider Lucidchart. My overall rating for this product is 5 out of 5.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Since it’s cloud-based, teams can collaborate effortlessly from any location. Additionally, its smooth integration with widely used tools such as Slack and Google Drive helps enhance both productivity and team alignment.

One drawback of the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is that its advanced features can be intimidating for those new to the platform, requiring a significant investment of time to learn how to use it efficiently. Additionally, some integrations and premium functionalities are restricted to higher-tier subscription plans, which may create difficulties for smaller teams or users working with limited budgets.

Effortless Network Diagrams and Seamless Collaboration

  • December 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I found most helpful about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite was how simple it was to get started. I needed a tool for creating a network diagram that wasn't Visio, and Lucid made the process incredibly straightforward. As soon as I opened the application, I was able to begin mapping out my network design without needing to consult any guides or watch tutorial videos. Within 15 minutes, I had a rough draft ready, and after spending about an hour refining it, my network diagram was nearly complete. Sharing the diagram with others for feedback was seamless, and after making a few minor adjustments, I had a finished product that was easy to distribute. The whole experience couldn't have been more convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my experience, the most challenging aspect was simply locating Lucid online and being able to compare it with other available options. I spent more time searching for a suitable solution than I did actually implementing it. Perhaps the search terms I used made it more difficult, but in the end, I'm glad I discovered Lucid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was searching for a straightforward, user-friendly, and fast solution that wasn't Microsoft Visio. I needed a tool I could set up quickly, use to create a rough draft during a discussion, and then easily produce a finished diagram that clearly conveyed every aspect of my network design. Lucid met all of these requirements.

Easy Customization, Limited Export Options

  • December 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find it easy to create and update charts as the process changes. I really like how easy it is to customize and visualize processes. Unlike other programs that offer limited or structured options, Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite allows lots of freedom to build and craft as I go. The initial setup was also very easy, making the transition smooth from products like Canva, Word, and Adobe, as Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is much more fluid.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that there's no easy way to print or convert charts to a printable format like PDF or Word. It would be great to have an option other than taking screenshots, even if it was a paid feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find it easy to create and update charts as processes change. It offers great freedom to customize and visualize processes without the structured limitations of other programs.

Effortless Workflow Creation with an Intuitive Interface

  • December 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and great at creating strong visual workflows for our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free tier feels a bit too restrictive. Even though I haven't created anything unusually large, I find myself getting cut off from progressing fairly early in my projects. On top of that, there are some aspects of the UI that I think could be improved. For example, everything appears to have a rather low resolution at first, and the quality only increases when I export. I would really like to be able to take a clear screenshot to share with my team, but that's not possible with the current setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mapping out ideas and workflows as I plan new products and processes.

Effortless Idea Sharing and Collaboration, Instantly Visualized

  • December 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part is how quickly you can get ideas out of your head and into a clear visual that other people can actually work with. Real-time collaboration is smooth, templates make it easy to start fast, and it plays nicely with the tools teams already use (docs, wikis, project tools). It’s great for turning messy processes into something everyone can agree on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced features are a bit hidden until you learn the UI, and very large/complex diagrams can feel slower to edit. Pricing/seats can also get expensive as more teams want access, and permissions/sharing can take a minute to set correctly when you’re working across departments
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the “we’re aligned in the meeting but not after” problem by making workflows, org/process maps, and plans visible and shareable in one place. That reduces back-and-forth, cuts down on misunderstandings, and speeds up decision-making—especially when collaborating async or across regions. It’s helped me document processes faster, onboard people more easily, and keep stakeholders aligned.
