lucidspark
What do you like best about the product?
I like the added ability to collaborate, to go along with the features of lucid that i enjoy
What do you dislike about the product?
It is frustrating asking a colleague to join me on a lucidspark document and hearing, "I don't have an account". It makes the process of onboarding it widely hard
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
chart making/collaboration around that
Good application for brainstorming and making issue trees
What do you like best about the product?
Clear visibility, easy to use application. I mainly use it to make overviews, issue trees and structures
What do you dislike about the product?
hard to export features, overview not always intuitive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
getting overview, untangling complex issues and visualising as such
Recommendations to others considering the product:
would recommend to make issue trees

Na
I am an organizer of tedx events and our brainstorming sessions would not be possible without LS.
What do you like best about the product?
I love that the whole group can work on it simultaneously.
What do you dislike about the product?
I missed more free boards... But this is not about disliking it...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Online brainstorming, as mentioned.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is very simple and professional to use.
Very versitile diagram tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy interface, easy to share with others, exports to PDF. For all the basic features it's free for individual users, which is great. It's incredibly intuitive - very little learning is required to use it "right out of the box". I work with many different types of clients, so I am very happy to have all the different features available in the tool because it allows me to use it for my variety of applications and customers' needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the "advanced" features are rather basic, but paying for them is actually quite expensive. There are a TON of features, too. Tons of capabilities. That's totally fine and great if you want a single tool to do many, many different things. However, sometimes simpler is better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My business partner and I have been drawing out the value stream for a customer we're working with. It's actually been fantastic for this. I use this for multiple programs, projects, and customers, for everything from business flows to software use cases, to money management. I've used it to model hardware, software, firmware, and business processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to explore your options before you choose LucidSpark. There are plenty of alternatives. LucidSpark is on the high end, both in terms of price and functionality. That's not necessarily a bad thing at all - Even the Free version is very full-featured. However, there are others that are more simple and may be more of what you're looking for (sometimes too many options is a bad thing).
Good tool for drawing and sharing diagrams
What do you like best about the product?
There are a lot of pre-defined icons and figures available. Easy to use for drawing anything I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the lines can get wobbly. Difficult to draw straight lines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are sharing code diagrams with colleagues. Easy to sketch and share ideas during remote work.
Lucidspark Review
What do you like best about the product?
Multiple ways to design your board. Collaboration/real-time updates. Autosaves content. Templates (though I would say some of the templates could use some upgrading).
What do you dislike about the product?
Since the borders are infinite, it can make it hard to find things on some larger board. Would be nice to see more info on what the different features do/how they can be used. It would also be nice to be able to lock out some features (ie - the drawing pens) that you don't want folks to use during collaboration. It would also be helpful to have the ability to add the person's name to their edits so that the board owner can see who contributed what to the board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to better collaborate while working from home. We use whiteboards a lot and being able to represent things visually in real-time has helped.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free version and make sure that it fits what your team needs. Take some time to have folks go in and experiment with what Lucidspark can do so that you don't spend meeting time learning the tool.
Process and Design Clarity!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the massive library of symbols and templates to work choose from (and get inspiration from)! We've been able to customize the shapes into our own library to ensure consistent use form person-to-person, project-to-project.This product has been amazing for our team and a great way to provide clarity around process and program design.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wasn't initial clear about the limitations of the "Educational" plan, and thought there would be more options before having to upgrade. There was a little bit of a learning curve having to figure out the symbol library and the ability to create my own symbols, but once I got it down it has been simple to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're mapping resources connections for migrant workers and designing a intake process to get them to the right place!
Lucidspark for System Design in Software Engineering
What do you like best about the product?
The tools available, along with the variety of templates, make Lucidspark very useful. So far, I have used it for System design documentation. Nonetheless, I can see the potentials for usage in my University work, for personal mind maps, flow charts. I think that the UI is very friendly, and it is pretty enjoyable to use the system in general.
Furthermore, the ability to share and collaborate makes the system very attractive. While other primary collaborative tools are based on word processors, Lucidspark provides a valuable alternative for technical collaborations, which are better expressed as diagrams and mind maps rather than textual information.

What do you dislike about the product?
In doing my System design documentations, I realized that there were not a lot of Database related diagrams that I could use. I ended up using some images which was suboptimal. It would be nice to have this in the system. Despite not being certain that this is one of the target applications of the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am making system design documentation and flow charts for my personal use.
The learning curve is minimal which was a key factor in deciding to use the system in the first place. Moreover, once I started using it i realized it had most tools that I would need for work-related activities as well as some academic documentation.
I believe that the price for the premium system is worth it since the tools packaged in the deal are quite useful and I would definitely encourage usage to friends running startups and companies in general.
