My main use case for Katalon Studio is automating test cases for both iOS and Android apps.
A specific example of a test case I automated with Katalon Studio is the lab test booking journey for our Tata 1mg Android and iOS apps, which help customers book lab tests and order medicines online.
The best features that Katalon Studio offers in my experience include reusability, which I find very valuable, and the XPath finders. The modification of test cases is very easy when compared to the traditional framework, which is the main advantage of Katalon Studio.
Reusability and the XPath finder have helped me significantly because there were cases with my current traditional frameworks where I struggled to find an XPath. In Katalon Studio, if you load the app, element finding becomes very easy. Additionally, if I want to change test cases, such as adding or removing any step, the process is straightforward.
The debugging process is also simpler. If any test cases fail using my current traditional framework, it was very difficult, whereas in Katalon Studio, I have debugged the failure test cases easily. With these features, I can save a lot of time using Katalon Studio compared to my current Java Selenium framework.
Katalon Studio has positively impacted my organization because I have noticed that I can save more than 50% of our time automating test cases. I measured this time saving by comparing the automation of cases in my current framework with automating the same cases through Katalon Studio using the record and playback method.
I have noticed a little lag while loading applications during my automation process with Katalon Studio, and I'm not sure if that is due to the free user restrictions, but I think this lag in application loading can be improved.
Katalon Studio sometimes restarts during automation, and as mentioned earlier, the app experiences lag, so those are the main areas that need improvement.

In that case, Katalon Studio is very effective and saves a lot of time compared to others such as Test Sigma or TestTrio. I have used Katalon Studio extensively for UI and API testing. Recently, I explored it further to transfer knowledge to a junior colleague, answering their questions and navigating through the tool due to my prior experience.
Katalon Studio is easier to use compared to SmartBear TestComplete. In Katalon, I can see the Groovy script and add a script immediately. The browser compatibility and self-healing capabilities are excellent, which helps keep the code updated. The object repository is a strong point, and I appreciate the ability to build custom keywords.
Extending the certification validity, especially after the trial period, would be beneficial. Providing clearer guidance during the trial period for certification and training modules would also help. It would allow users to build expertise and promote the product effectively.

It also allows automation on mobile, web, desktop, and API platforms. Although its object repository feature seems underdeveloped, its execution and integration capabilities are commendable.
I would like Katalon Studio to develop manual test case generation using AI capabilities, as other tools like those using OpenAI are already doing this. Also, enhancing its test management aspects and improving support levels with translators for non-English speakers would be beneficial.

We are using Katalon Studio for mobile application testing, web testing, browser testing, and API testing. We are also trying to evaluate the tool for this company with mobile applications using React.
It is good with iOS and Android. We are still trying to establish the React Native application with some features. It is not capturing some of the objects. However, it is good to record and playback in low code. That is one advantage.
It should be faster while executing, and there are some defects, like choosing the new device with the test case. Parallel execution is available, but not with the free version. The videos or training videos are not providing proper information on setup, and it should give more insights so everyone can understand.
