What do you like best about the product?
Katalon is the easiest and fastest Test Automation platform to onboard new QA Engineers. It also doesn't require backend engineering experience. Most Front-End Developers can be introduced to Katalon and be writing well written tests within 2 - 4 weeks. Because of this, we have adopted Katalon as our standard automation QA testing platform accross all our family of companies, which includes 7 companies to date.
The Katalon managed selenium libraries allow for QA Engineers to focus on expanding test coverage, and not the backend QA code.
You can also expand the Katalon code base with your own "Custom Keywords", which allows you to continue to grow as a QA Engineer.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Record feature is basically useless. It's just a gimick to get non-developers interested. But soon as you use this on slightly dynamic AUT, this feature writes bad test objects.
Using an AI coding tool like Cursor is much better when wanting easy object creation.

What do you like best about the product?
Katalon Studio is easy to set up and ideal for both beginners and experienced testers. Its integration with TestOps helps track results and reports efficiently. The built-in keywords and no-code/low-code options save a lot of time. Katalon’s frequent updates and responsive support team are a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
While powerful, Katalon can be resource-heavy on low-end machines. Debugging custom keywords can be tricky at times, and updating plugins sometimes causes unexpected issues. A built-in smart wait feature for dynamic elements would also improve test stability across various web applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Katalon helps streamline both manual and automated testing by providing an all-in-one platform with built-in tools for scripting, test management, and reporting. It eliminates the need to maintain separate custom frameworks, saving us time and effort. We’ve reduced repetitive manual testing by integrating Katalon with Jenkins and Excel for end-to-end automation across teams. This has increased test coverage, improved release confidence, and made our overall QA process faster and more reliable.
