Effortless Identity and Device Management for Modern IT Teams

  • May 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud provides a centralized, cloud-based platform that simplifies how we manage identities, devices, and application access. As an IT admin, I’ve found it very easy to configure and manage, even across remote teams.

The Protect app's push notifications for MFA are a standout feature—way more convenient than manually entering OTPs every day. I also love the password manager browser extension, which securely stores and autofills credentials, improving both user experience and security.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area for improvement would be integrating the password manager extension with the application launcher, similar to the OKTA browser extension. Having a unified interface for app access and password management would streamline workflows even further.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud helps us centralize identity and access management.

With JumpCloud, we now have a single platform to:

1. Provision and manage user accounts across different systems and applications

2. Enforce MFA and secure login workflows with features like push notifications

3. Securely store, autofill and share passwords using the browser extension

This has significantly reduced administrative overhead, improved user experience, and strengthened our overall security posture.

MDM for our company

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to manage remote computers, it has remote the computer function for admins and easy to connect with azure.
What do you dislike about the product?
there is no option to sync the display name with azure ad. it only fetch the first and last name from JumpCloud.
It is better to have this function since there are some employees that prefer to be called differently from their legal name
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
since we have a lot of remote users, it is easy to deploy policies, install apps, leverage their access in the computer, and remote session, while the password recovery is on self-service.

What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud has changed the game for our IT department as a small business. We are able to receive information, manage systems and devices, disseminate necessary updates and fixes like never before. It's increased our efficiency and helped us know about issues before they happen.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our user count changes quite a bit, and I wish we could alter our needed user licenses when this happens, but the yearly renewal locks us in at a user minimum each year. That's the only inconvenience I have found.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helped us streamline and manage all things IT in a much more effective way as a small business.

A Game-Changer for Modern IT and Identity Management

  • May 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud has become an essential part of our IT stack. It simplifies identity and access management with a user-friendly UI, robust policy enforcement, and seamless device management. We’ve significantly improved our onboarding and off-boarding workflows through JumpCloud’s MDM, SSO, and user lifecycle features. The platform’s flexibility allows us to manage macOS, Windows, and Linux devices, apply conditional access, and enforce security controls—all from a single dashboard. Zero-touch deployment and integrations with tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, and Zoom have made remote support and compliance a breeze. Their customer support is also always a great help!
What do you dislike about the product?
While JumpCloud is incredibly powerful, some features like reporting and user activity logs could benefit from deeper granularity and better export options. Additionally, the learning curve for setting up advanced policies or SSO mappings can be a bit steep for first-time users. That said, the documentation is improving and their support team is always available to help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud has allowed us to consolidate multiple tools into one secure platform. We’ve eliminated the need for legacy Active Directory setups and significantly improved visibility and control over endpoints, users, and app access. It supports our compliance efforts and gives us peace of mind with its Zero Trust architecture. Onboarding now takes minutes instead of hours, and IT can scale securely without added complexity.

JumpCloud MDM and Directory solution

  • May 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is device agnostic and can handle most operating systems like Windows, Linux, and MacOS. It can also manage mobile devices. Our instance of JumpCloud is also acting as the directory service vs using something like Microsoft Entra. JumpCloud integrates well with a host of different reporting systems and the controls and dashboard are intuitive.

Integrations with Microsoft are great. You can choose to use JumpCloud for SAML and SSO or you can offload that to Microsoft. JumpCloud is cheaper than Intune and works OK as a directory service. If you're used to MS Entra, you'll be annoyed at small quirks of JumpCloud, but overall it works well and gives you more options if cost is an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud is not quite up to par with over the air provisioning for Windows devices. Unlike Intune, or other MDM solutions, Jumpcloud requires you to either use an imaging service with your device manufacture/vendor, or to include a USB storage device that needs to be plugged into the device when it is booted up to install the profile ppkg. It also is very inconsistent with using wifi during that initial configuration phase even if you've included the wifi credentials in the setup package, they recommend having an ethernet cable plugged in during the enrollment phase. This obviously present multiple problems as many laptops do not include an ethernet port by default. I've had success using a usb-c ethernet adapter to compensate. If the enrollment fails, it is a huge pain to recover, and resetting the windows device is the only fix that has been consistent.

JumpCloud sync process is not easy to force. When testing new software deployments or configuration changes, you often need to force a sync between the device and the MDM solution. Both Intune and JamfPro which I have extensive experience with have that feature while JumpCloud requires you to restart a service or reboot or wait. As the engineer testing, that's irritating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the age of remote work and the castle and moat security posture giving way to the cloud and work from anywhere. JumpCloud's MDM solution hits all the checkboxes. It's features are competitive although not as intuitive as Intune (for windows) but the cost makes it worth considering.

Wonderful

What do you like best about the product?
I like how JumpCloud simplifies user and device management across different systems, it’s especially handy for managing remote teams securely without needing a bunch of separate tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit complex to set up at first, especially for smaller teams or those new to directory platforms. Some features also feel limited unless you’re on a higher-tier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JC is solving the challenge of managing users, devices, and access across different platforms from one place. It’s helped streamline onboarding, improve security with centralized policies, and reduce the need for multiple tools—all of which saves time and keeps things more organized

JumpCloud simplifies IT operations by centralizing user and device management with a clean interface

  • May 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The unified directory and cross-platform device management are incredibly useful. I appreciate how easy it is to onboard users, enforce security policies, and integrate with cloud services like Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. The UI is modern and intuitive, making daily administration tasks efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced configurations require a bit of a learning curve, especially around conditional access and scripting for policies. Reporting capabilities are also somewhat limited compared to larger enterprise solutions, and mobile device management could use more features. Support response time varies depending on the plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud solves the challenge of managing user identities, devices, and access across multiple systems and cloud apps, all from one platform. It eliminates the need for on-prem Active Directory, which is especially valuable in hybrid or fully remote work environments. The platform makes it easy to enforce security policies like MFA, manage credentials, and deploy consistent settings across various devices. As a result, IT operations are more streamlined, user onboarding/offboarding is faster, and compliance is easier to maintain.

JumpCloud is a robust cloud directory platform with room for improvement and evidenced improvement

  • May 29, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to manage many different types of devices in one platform is amazing. The Password Manager is a great tool for our users as we have a lot of different departments needing a lot of different and continually changing passwords. Remote Assist is also phenomenal - we are spread across the country yet have our IT team in only one region. We can remotely manage entire other regions via JumpCloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud lacks compatibility with Google devices which is a bummer. We have a lot of Chromebooks that would be lovely to manage in JumpCloud. But also this may be a Google decision to keep users on Google Admin. JumpCloud also has some tedious, annoying features that would be nice if they were customizable to the user. For example, to reset a password you cannot use any of the past 3 passwords. We have pre-determined passwords for many devices, so we have to reset passwords 3 times to get them back to their original one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud recently rolled out a much better filtering system for Devices. That was a huge win to quickly search for specific devices. We manage many devices remotely so half the battle is finding the right device in order to perform the necessary changes.

Greatest tool

What do you like best about the product?
Device management at our fingertips has never been better or easier to implement. The mobile device onboarding is easy to integrate, and if there are ever any issues, we know their customer support has our back. There are many great features to list, but our most used is their password manager. It is our day-to-day tool for our customers' device management.
What do you dislike about the product?
When it comes to Apple backup, we sometimes struggle since there is no backup management for these devices. It is difficult to ensure these devices have a backup with JC. We often have to use a different tool to get backups done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping us manage our customers devices and passwords.
