Unified access portal has simplified user migrations and centralized device and app management

  • December 05, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for JumpCloud is being an implementer, which means that the user wants to migrate from an on-premise server to a cloud, so they use JumpCloud.

A quick, specific example of how I use JumpCloud for a migration project is that the user has a backend Windows Active Directory, and they want to control all the users that use company devices, such as a laptop or cell phone, and have them be managed. So, I suggest they use JumpCloud. They migrate from Windows Active Directory to JumpCloud, and I help them with the process, such as integration and how to bind the user to the endpoint and the device, such as a cell phone.

If there is any new user onboarding, I made a script to automate that. If the new user comes, it should be automated to sync to JumpCloud from the Windows Active Directory.

What is most valuable?

Based on my experience, the best features JumpCloud offers include support for most operating systems for devices and handhelds, such as iPhone or Android. The feature that I use most is that the user has only one portal to access the applications, such as SSO applications like Google Workspace and the web applications that support SAML or OpenID.

I find myself using the single SSO for all the applications the most because it is much easier for me to log in to one user portal, and then I can have access to all applications.

JumpCloud has positively impacted my organization because we can work more efficiently by focusing on the one user portal to use the applications.

What needs improvement?

I think JumpCloud can be improved by enhancing their support because it takes so long to get feedback from them if I have a problem with a client to solve their problem.

I would like to add more about the needed improvements, perhaps a tutorial on how to use some new features, such as RADIUS, or use cases that show the best practice on how to solve some cases.

Customer support should be enhanced, especially the response time which should be much faster than it is now. I think it is slow.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for about three years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

JumpCloud is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of JumpCloud is good because the JumpCloud backend is supported by AWS, which is around the world.

How are customer service and support?

I think JumpCloud can be improved by enhancing their support because it takes so long to get feedback from them if I have a problem with a client to solve their problem.

I would appreciate more content about the needed improvements, perhaps a tutorial on how to use some new features, such as RADIUS, or use cases that show the best practice on how to solve some cases.

Customer support should be enhanced, especially the response time which should be much faster than it is now. I think it is slow.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution before JumpCloud; from the beginning, I used JumpCloud.

What was our ROI?

I have not seen a return on investment, and I cannot share relevant metrics because I am just an engineer.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that JumpCloud licensing is based on how many users they register in JumpCloud, and each user can have multiple devices, up to three devices.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options before choosing JumpCloud; there is no other option.

What other advice do I have?

JumpCloud is deployed in my organization as a public cloud.

I use Google Cloud as my cloud provider.

I would advise those looking into using JumpCloud that it can give you more visibility about your device, inventory, control of your application, and so on. I think it is many things in one platform. I rate this product an 8 out of 10.

Automation actually works with JumpCloud and I can finally go home

  • December 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The workflows just keep going on their own and not having to baby sit them has been a big time saver and even though I thought they would crash but they didn't. Support for JumpCloud actually contacts you for assistance (which is unusual as most organization's support teams are "ghost towns") and automates all the tedious tasks, so I never again have to click the same button over and over and over.
What do you dislike about the product?
It gets expensive fast and I hate how the user interface freezes up when I have too many windows open and makes me lose my mind. The initial building of the automation was intimidating at first because I thought it was going to be way more complicated than it was. I also dislike that the single sign on functionality between jumpcloud and okta has some serious issues and I find it annoying that it doesn't integrate better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're saving a whole work week each month and as it eliminates much of the nonsense in our saas apps, it helps us handle data loss prevention with advanced automation. Also onboarding new employees no longer is a manual nightmare can be easily automated.

Comprehensive Access and Device Management with Easy Integration

  • December 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate JumpCloud's ability to integrate with a multitude of third-party applications, which significantly assists us in managing user access effortlessly. The setup process is quite straightforward, making it easy for us to integrate various tools. I find the remote access feature particularly valuable as it allows us to remotely manage devices without the need for additional third-party tools. This has simplified our operations since we no longer require separate software to perform remote tasks. Additionally, the patch management functionality is incredibly helpful, enabling us to handle updates and patches directly from JumpCloud, which was previously handled by another platform. The comprehensive nature of JumpCloud allows us to manage our active directory, user access, and devices all in one place, eliminating the need for multiple applications. This makes the platform very efficient for our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it inconvenient that with JumpCloud, I can't run multiple commands simultaneously to several devices. Currently, if I want to execute more than one command across multiple devices, I have to run each command separately, which is time-consuming. It would be much better if I could select a list of devices and apply multiple commands to them all at once. Additionally, the reporting feature is lacking in terms of customization. I often struggle to find report types that suit my specific needs, and having more custom reporting options would be beneficial.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud for seamless user access management and device management, streamlining the onboarding and offboarding processes. Its SSO and integration capabilities enhance user experience, while remote access and patch management boost our operational efficiency.

Smooth solution for user management

  • November 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like JumpCloud most about the ease with which users are managed on our platforms. I use it a lot, so the usability is quite beneficial. It has features sufficient enough to deal with identity, devices and simple security checks. We connected it to Google Workspace and Slack to have new accounts synced. Once it was implemented, it simply became part of our workflow and saved us time per week.
What do you dislike about the product?
The issue with this is most concerning to me because I find it difficult to experiment with policies due to the fact that some of the settings are fixed. I am in the platform all the time, and restrictions are felt very quickly. There are parts that appear to have been half-constructed. Customer support is not always quick, but reliable, and it slows down some of our rollouts. It increases the length of projects which are supposed to be faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to JumpCloud, access was handled haphazardly across apps but now we can handle it in just a single stream of consciousness. I spend a lot of time in it and it is easy to use. Associating it with Google Workspace made our onboarding processes more streamlined. The features assist in minimizing minor problems that consumed time in the past. It has made our daily task at work a lot easier.

Seamless Onboarding and Robust Integration

  • November 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how JumpCloud integrates with many applications, which makes the onboarding process seamless. We have been able to integrate it with our HR application, Google Workspace, and various third-party applications, which significantly eases our processes. The seamless integration facilitates synchronization of users from Google Workspace to JumpCloud, ensuring efficient management of our cloud directory. This ability to manage devices, user endpoints, and integrate smoothly streamlines our operations. Moreover, JumpCloud's comprehensive documentation made the initial setup process very easy for our team, as we could simply follow it to get everything configured properly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm currently looking for identity governance features in JumpCloud, but they are not available. Specifically, I need RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) metrics to clearly see which users have access to specific applications and understand their roles within each system. This feature would greatly enhance our ability to manage identities and roles within our organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud to manage user endpoints and streamline onboarding and access revocation. Its integration with HR applications makes the onboarding process seamless.

Comprehensive IT Management with Stellar Support

  • November 25, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how broad and versatile JumpCloud is, as it offers a comprehensive suite of features including MDM, password management, patch management, software management, and SaaS management. The platform functions as a one-stop shop for my IT infrastructure needs, making it possible to consolidate various functionalities without having to purchase multiple different products. This integration supports a seamless IT backbone and automates tasks like on and offboarding, greatly enhancing efficiency when departmental changes require different access levels. I love that JumpCloud includes asset management, which I am planning to implement soon. The ease of setup for many features that do not require coding or technical knowledge is particularly beneficial, and I value the dependable support for more technical tasks such as application integration or script deployment. The onboarding and setup process was also streamlined thanks to support from JumpCloud's success manager, who helped plan and facilitate the implementation process. Lastly, JumpCloud eliminated the need for additional licenses by including functionalities like a password manager, offering cost savings and simplicity.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that some features in JumpCloud are not fully fleshed out and could use improvement. Specifically, the software catalog could be enhanced. Currently, it is limited in terms of the number of apps it includes, and there isn't an easy way for me, as an administrator, to add apps that my organization uses and would like to see in the catalog.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud to streamline IT infrastructure, automating onboarding and department transitions, eliminating the need for multiple products, and reducing costs while maintaining flexibility with broad capabilities.
