I just keep telling everyone this is THE platform for podcasters

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is so freaking intuitive and easy to navigate it blows me away that it can be THIS EASY to podcast. One of my favorite features is the 'mark clips' button or hitting 'M' on your keyboard when you're in the middle of a session, makes it so easy to come back to a certain spot, mark an epic quote someone stated that you know you'll want to extract later. Three other notable features that save so much time in podcast production of the podcast are the AI social clipping, AI show notes feature, and the ability to have ONE link to your studio to share with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly there isn't a feature in the platform I don't like. I know they are working on improving the interface for editing, and as that continues to be an area they improve, I know that in the future it'll be even easier to be able to completly handle editing podcast episodes fully, inside the platform which would be huge!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Firstly, it's a HUGE upgrade for so many podcasters that were using Zoom to record in. The fact that Riverside captures high quality audio, over the web, and backs up recordings live as they happen - eliminates poor quality recordings, dropped recordings and those are two of the biggest issues podcasters face when doing remote recordings with other people. Now with AI added as a feature, being able to pull show notes, transcription and social media clips with the touch of a button is HUGE for making promoting podcast episodes and repurposing them easier for podcasters.

Very very good for podcasters

What do you like best about the product?
intuitive platform, ease of recording and feature rich. The latest feature to get shownotes and magic clips is a big time saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
Editing can be improved. It is good for the first cut, but I still need to use another software to get a crisper edit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it is a one stop solution for podcasters. Feature rich and the output is superlative.

Worth the Risk

What do you like best about the product?
When starting podcasting, I was only aware of Zoom. After some failed recordings, I looked into other options. Riverside was the best. Although they had some hiccups, what I like best about Riverside is their willingness to grow and learn as a company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, nothing. They added all of my desires and fixed any issues like syncing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am not a video editor, so when they mastered the short form video creation, this was what sold me.

What do you like best about the product?
It requires almost no training because it's so intuitive!
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't add music to the recording, but there are other programs that can handle that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping us record from multiple locations and normalize the audio between all our different settings and different technology.

Excellent service that is delivering high quality and saving me so much time.

What do you like best about the product?
I've had a podcast in-house for seven years and it has typically taken 2 hours of edit time per show (granted, they are shorter than the typical podcast.) Riverside is not only doing a "double ender" something that I did on skype that was pretty tough to set up with those who didn't know what they were doing. But it also has powerful AI editing features and also helps me create TikTok videos easily and Facebook reels very easily from my shows. The transcripts are the best and it is wonderful. I appreciate how easy it is to use Riverside and I highly recommend it for podcasters. I even host my meetings in it as well. I had problem with a file on a Saturday and a chat agent responded immediately and was able to fix my problem (a file needed to be restored). I was back in and editing quickly. I highly recommend this service!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I'm waiting for is for the chapters to update when I edit the show. That said, I just take the titles and update the times manually and I'm still saving time, but I fully expect that will be added soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has sped my time for editing, and also improved the quality of the recordings by capturing on both sides. I'm also getting high quality video and audio. It is a great service!

The leader in audio/video podcast recording

  • March 01, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I first started using Riverside.fm for my own podcasts (& then recommending to dozens of clients) when they were the first tool I found for reliable audio AND video recording for remote podcasts that provided high quality recording, separate tracks for each speaker & an easy-to-use interface for hosts & guests.

Since then, I love how Riverside.fm has continued to be a reliable product & one that gets better with new innovations & updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had the occassional issue with audio/video sync, but (a) I'm not certain it wasn't my video setup to blame & (b) Riverside's support (as always) has been extremely quick & response to help with this issue when it did come up. They even re-synced my video & provided an updated file within a matter of hours in a recent situation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside allows me to start contnet creation with video-based interviews which powers a LOT of my content creation further downstream (including YouTube videos, audio podcast episodes, short-form videos for various social channels & repurposed text content from the interviews I record).

Everything I need for online podcasts

  • February 29, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The AI full screen is incredibly helpful. We know that the shots need to constantly change to maintain attention; switching between speakers with AI is really helpful in reducing editing time.

Background noise removal is also helpful and works really well.

We've never had any complaints from interviewees also in terms of ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
A couple of times when I've exported and gone back to edit, subtitles don't seem to appear. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or if I'm doing something wrong. We typically don't use subtitles so not a major issue for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Teams to record online podcasts before and the quality was terrible in comparison to Riverside.

12+ Months of Riverside and I'm still thrilled to be using it

  • February 28, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Here is a list of things that I love about Riverside.fm in no particular order:

• I love the asynchronous uploading that happens while you are recording.
• I love the fact that if my guest loses internet access, they can come back and upload the remaining video, and it isn't lost
• I love that I have a live view of my guests while recording, and it's uploading simultaneously
• Customer support has been swift when I've had questions
• I love being able to separate the various "studios" I use for separate programs/tasks I need. I have begun using Riveside to replace my Zoom meetings because I like it better.
• The first day we used it -- it was easy to add to our podcast workflow and implementation. We've used it weekly ever since that first day in January 2023.
• Cold storage on your recordings is GREAT, they archive your stuff, and whenever you want to download the files again, you can usually retrieve them within an hour or two. The speed at which they pull up archived files is pretty incredible.

I run a small podcast with a close friend, and Riverside has been the best platform we've used to date. We have never found a reason to find a different solution for our podcast.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quality of live video during recording is often times really blurry. Also, at least once during each recording, the video + audio freeze. This makes it hard to know where the person you're talking to has moved the conversation to and if they asked you a question but you missed it.

Occasionally, the recordings require an indeterminate amount of time to process. I have no clue why this is. Sometimes, the recordings are ready within minutes, and we recorded for over 1.5 hours. Sometimes, a short 10-minute recording will take 2 hours to process. I have no idea why this is.

The UI is janky sometimes. Often, my guests do not know where the buttons are on their end, and I have to walk them through it.

Some of the newer features they've released like editing, ai transcripts, social clips and more -- function very half-baked. I know eventually they will be really awesome but for right now my workflow still requires additional tools to make my podcast be the best it can be. However, I look forward to the day when I don't need additional tools and Riverside can do everything I need it to -- all in one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a place to record my podcast with great audio and video. In addition, I wanted to make sure that if my guests lost connection, we didn't have to start the whole podcast over. The async uploading while recording is really excellent.
