What do you like best about the product?
Riverside.FM has honestly been a game-changer for me. It combines all the core features I need with some really impressive extras that just make everything easier. Editing video and audio used to feel like such a slow, expensive process—but with Riverside, it’s quick, simple, and actually profitable, especially for freelancers, agencies, or solo creators like myself.

Poor recording quality over the internet

Fast Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Whenever there is a problem, glitch, or user error, the response time of the support team is incredible and the problem is always fixed. That may sound like a given but it’s not so common. Riverside gets it done for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do find the platform a little unpredictable. I make mistakes, aka user error, and there are things that are not as intuitive as I would like. There have been some problems that simply occurred and make no sense to me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The quality of recording (audio and video) is much better than Zoom for podcast and YouTube content creation. The editing functions save me lots of time and money with third party editors.
Quick to learn the system!
What do you like best about the product?
After trying a few other online recording platforms, I was happy when I found Riverside.fm to be an easy platform for me as a video podcast host. Most of my guests have been able to access the platform, and the recording quality has been great! I love being able to separate the audio track for each participant and have been able to clean up background noise easily by isolating where the noise was coming from and cleaning that track.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only concern with using Riverside.fm has been a glitch that shows up from time to time during an interview where my guest's feed will freeze while they're speaking. I know the final video doesn't have the frozen frames since the recording is of higher quality, but it is very distracting for those who are trying to record a conversation when one person seems to disappear for a few moments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The addition of offering a transcript file of the recording has saved me time in being able to do a paper edit before I work on final edits of my interviews. The transcript allows me to see in print where I can cut larger sections from the interview and allows me to focus on the finer points once I get to the editing process.

What do you like best about the product?
Fantastic recording quality and so easy to set up pod recording / none of my guests have issues joining. Love that there's nothing for them to download. Biggest thing is I can trust it will record properly and with good quality, for audio and video. Transcription is spot on (except for some Spanish accents). Love the test record feature - you can check all is working through a quick recording with your guests before you start, without leaving the app. Love that it lets me edit transcript with words, and I like the AI features for removing 'ums' and stuff like that. The support is excellent and they always solve my problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Editing the transcript can be quite slow - it only works for small edits because you need a lot of patience with it - but it's WAY better than editing on another platform without the words - eg Capcut takes way longer. Might just be my computer - macbook air m1, using Chrome browser. But each click has a few seconds wait, after the first several edits. That said, the AI transcription is very good so you really only need minor edits (I do science podcasts so it's mainly the science jargon, and non english speakers sometimes it's not as accurate for). Not enough of a problem to make me switch to a new platform; I am sure this will soon improve. Also I haven't been able to make the greenscreen thing work - I use a green screen in the recording studio I use, but on Riverside it always keeps a halo of green around my head, so it's sort of unuseable. Not a big deal but wish I could use this feature.

Transcribing my podcast, letting me edit my audio/visual podcast, storing/backing up my recording files. Enables me to easily host a podcast as a complete beginner.

What do you like best about the product?
Riverside.fm is very intuitive to use. The layout is very easy to navigate and makes starting your podcast so simple. I do not have a background in recording, but Riverside.fm handles all the techincal elements of recording and editing a podcast so easy. Once I got all my brand elements uploaded I can quickly go from recording to posting my latest podcast in no time. I use the service once a week and I love it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features that would be nice to have. For example, when watching a video during a podcast recording, the sound of the video is super loud on the guests headset and there is currently no way to lower the volume. I'm sure there are other thigns that might need tweaking, but I haven't run into any other issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside.fm basically gives you a full functioning recording studio on their platform. I have a very simple set up and it just makes it all work.
A true professional resource
What do you like best about the product?
I am super impressed by the support and the incredible training resources Riverside.FM offers. The quality of the product I can produce would not have been easy or even possible in such a short time with any of the other applications and studios I investigated. Thanks to the great Riverside Team.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I feel Riverside's wealth of product tools and the reasonable/low cost to users if a blessing. I do not have an unlimited budget, and Riverside has made it possible for me to create my content on a tight budget without sacrificing quality.
Riverside has been the perfect platform for me as a brand new podcaster!
What do you like best about the product?
I have enjoyed how easy it is for someone with very little experience in editing and podcasting. My startup time was very quick, and I feel like I'm competent with very little time under my belt.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point, I don't have anything I dislike. I'm still learning all the bells and whistles that are at my disposal.

My biggest issue is having no real knowledge in the space. I went from program to program, and the barriers to entry were huge. Riverside made things incredibly easy and straightforward for me.
Easy clips for those of us who are not video editors
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very simple tool to use for a marketer like me to make video clips without much trouble. It's fairly easy to get started and begin using.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the organization of the clips could be better. It can get really messy with projects vs recordings with individual people vs the magic clips made from the longer videos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Video editing is not usually this easy. Magic clips don't always get it right, but they can give a very good starting point for edited clips.
Riverside is easy to use, great for YouTube videos, and Video Clips for your website.
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Riverside is the amount of training offered and the fact that it is really easy to learn. The implementation is easy, and customer support is awesome! I use Riverside at least 4x a week. I can edit, clip, and improve the audio and visuals of the video. I also like the fact that I do not have to download anything. I can go to Riverside and start producing my videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found anything I dislike about Riverside yet. However, there are some features I have not used, so I can only share my experiences with the features I am familiar with.

It is incredibly easy to use. It was exactly what I needed for shooting a podcast and cutting clips when I was done. I love the AI features as well making editing super efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know that there is anything I "dislike" about Riverside. I'm sure there would be features that I'd like to see added but nothing is missing right now.
