Enterprise-Grade Security Meets Media Production -- Finally
What do you like best about the product?
One of the most impressive zero-trust architectures for media workflows is at Riverside for a Cloud Security Engineer. Local-first recording model means content will never leave your device — audio/video are AES 256 encrypted at rest on endpoints until they are uploaded to our designated S3 buckets. Helped us to pass and save 300 hundreds of hours on vendor security reviews by utilizing the SOC 2 Type II & ISO 27001 Compliance. Especially the SCIM provisioning through Okta that allows us to enforce RBAC policies over 200+ webinar hosts. The immutable audit logs for all recording sessions (including participant join/leave time-stamps) have been a compliance requirement lifesaver. Both the Terraform provider to manage workspaces, as well as SigV4 authentication for API calls from a DevSecOps angle fits in well with our current AWS platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, we still see a gap here with the lack of customer-managed encryption keys (BYOK) for stored recordings and those most sensitive use cases. Although a client with attested boot measurements (to ensure client integrity) can be accomplished with the browser, the local recording is significantly less threat-prone. In addition, we have found a few small session token expiration windows in the mobile apps that can be addressed with custom IAM policies. The VPC peering support for private media transfers is still in beta, so we have been running temporary NAT gateways during large scale events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Eliminated 3rd-party media processing, a $85k/year risk avoidance in compliance overhead
Watermarked recordings + immutable logs: slashed 40% from the cost of discovered in legal discovery with (p.109) — Forensic Readiness
Secure Scaling — Automated provisioning to support 500+ concurrent secure sessions for earnings calls
Answers the DevSecOps Alignment: API is used to support our GitOps workflow for policy-as-code deployments.

A critical part of the enterprise Webinar Architecture that we forgot
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside answered our direct request — challenging the tech to speed up Delivery as in Studio Quality + Enterprise Scale (I liaised w Riverside as IT Manager responsible for our particular webinars Infra). Clean 4K/WAV files, clobbering the zoom working in the past we had been plagued with bandwidth limitation's but not anymore. Thanks to the REST API and webhook ecosystem, more specifically, we were able to automate our entire media pipeline from an integration perspective: recordings automatically ingest into our DAM after they have concluded, their life is managed by ServiceNow post-production ticket auto-generation when needed, and completed files are seamlessly pushed straight into our CMS without any manual burden. The synchronization with Active Directory (a new feature beginning last quarter) made it easier to manage users for over 300+ webinar hosts. The ISO track separation also saves a lot of recordings in hybrid events when the speakers' home internet fails.
What do you dislike about the product?
No Kubernetes Operator forces us to manage custom implementations for increasing recording infrastructure during peak times. The API is great, yet it can only take 60 requests/minute for the rate limiting so we need to be cautious when in some scenarios adding to a queue in our event-driven architecture. We've encountered issues with varying upload speeds when processing 50+ concurrent recordings - having an isolated throughput page would facilitate the prediction of bottlenecks so that proper adjustments could be made. There is no just-in-time provisioning in the SAML implementation and this leads to user management overhead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Infrastructure Efficiency - We saved $18k/year in cross cloud transcoding costs, by moving encoding to clients which also improves quality.
2. Reliability — 99.98% uptime for critical executive webinars (vs. 97.3% with our old stack)
3. In a sentence: SOC 2 Type II certification (checked the box for legal requirements on earnings call recordings)
4. Automation: Connected with our current CI/CD pipeline to extend branded webinar templates among regional groups

The Boardroom-Grade Platform for Mission-Critical Communications
What do you like best about the product?
We utilize Riverside for all forms of our high stakes communications for both a Director and CXO. The boardroom-quality recordings provide instant credibility to investor updates, all-hands meetings and customer webinars that needed a production crew is now done by simply clicking one button. This is especially useful in cases when you are interviewing a teleconference earnings call etc. where clarity of voice separation matters the most since every word saved counts to build knowledge bases from quantitative data. From a governance standpoint, our audit requirements are met by the SOC 2 compliance and enterprise access controls, but we have also never encountered a scenario where one of our least technical directors cannot use Appear without IT support. The AI does executive summaries taking you 05 hours to digest the notes within a small part of key-stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
The live streaming functionality is impressive in videos, but it does not provide features that are full-functioning in real time such as poll and question moderation like those found in dedicated webinar platforms. More detailed viewer engagement data to measure content effectiveness could be provided by the analytics dashboard. It is further detailed that this enterprise cost doesn't scale well across all the subsidiaries to an acceptable level, but still justifies the investment for such mission-critical use cases as the quality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside tackles on a three-pronged strategic challenges: Firstly, It has uplifted our corporate communications calibre to the Fortune 500 plateaus — and that is already revealing itself in the improvement of-quality investment trends. In addition removing high-profile events and crashing platform (fail whale) are long gone thanks to the increased point of reliability this system was brought into perform. The third reason is that industrial content can now be immediately repurposed into shareholder updates, training materials and anything needed for a marketing campaign, helping us achieve unprecedented operational efficiency — we have cut our external production costs by 45% whilst actually increasing quality of output. While for C-level leaders who simply don't have the room for a miscue but do need to move, Riverside is exactly their nail-polish-meets-practicality proprietary finish.
Unprecedented Reliability — Enterprise Webinar Infrastructure
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside has provided the stability and quality even running dozens of events simultaneously — something we have struggled to attain through other platforms as well as developing customized modules for our country-specific rollout. — CTIO famously guiding over our digital event strategy This includes local recording architecture for broadcast-grade audio/video quality, which is vital for our global executive webinars (yes, even an APAC or a user in Timbuktu can join your meeting!) This has saved our a-- more times than I can count when guest connections have dropped, enabling us to retrieve flawless individual tracks. On the IT issue, SOC 2 compliance and role-based per missioning checks all of our security boxes, while fine grained controls for APIs/webbooks play well with our ManTech & CRM stacks. The real-time live streaming to YouTube/LinkedIn no longer requires us using their external encoders.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although they may not have as many enterprise requirements, they need some basic features that are not covered in the admin dashboard like single sing-on (SSO) user provisioning or more detailed usage analytics across departments. The quality of the recording is remarkable, but our media team would like a more collaborative editing workflow. We have seen some API rate limits as well here and there while bulk-managing webinar recordings across our global regions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside changed the game for our webinar operations in three ways: It fixed a quality compromise with traditional webinar platforms that we had to make, which represented some brand perception optical costs. The second is the reliable recording infrastructure has reduced our level 1 tech support incidents by 60% compared to our old platform. Riverside also saves us hundreds of hours annually, automatically repurposing content into marketing assets via integrations to grow our webinar ROI 3x as we scale our digital event portfolio — providing the enterprise-grade foundation we require but with a low barrier entry for non-technical teams.
How Riverside Transformed Our Product Demos and Education
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside has completely re-shaped the way my team and I communicate to buyers and internal stakeholders as a Sales Director in food distribution. The crisp screen capture allows us to create professional product demos — whether we are introducing new beverage lines or packaging innovations, the image will never be grainy or lagging. One of the perks of using 4K recording technology instead of Zoom recordings is CS captures every label and list clearly that offline retail buyers love and appreciate. The one-click social clips are great for showcasing seasonal promotions across LinkedIn, and the branding tools (custom watermarks, intros) make our videos look very professional. But the best part is that put simply, it's simple — so not even our most technically-challenged sales reps need to get IT involved in recording and sharing videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see the screen capture annotations (arrows, text overlays) built in rather than needing 3rd party tools. Bulkier video files (e.g., one-hour training) may experience longer than average processing times, but the output justifies waiting for it. We also wished screen sharing was available on the mobile app — this is something that field teams would want when they're recording at distributor depots.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Those static PDFs or the blurry Zoom recordings were for our buyer presentations in the pre-Riverside era. In fact, now we use interactive video demos that demonstrate products in action (think cocktail recipes utilizing our spirits or shelf-life tests with perishables). It has shaved off 30% of our sales cycle for strategic accounts. Lastly, Video Training Libraries have cut the onboarding time for new hires in half via replacing laborious SOPs. We have doubled our email engagement rates by being able to embed videos directly in CRM emails (thanks to Riverside integrations). Riverside gets it in terms of how to enable a traditional industry like food distribution to compete with its digital-native brands.
The Perfect Platform for DIY
What do you like best about the product?
All of the features are amazing. The teleprompter, the auto-editing, the magic episodes and clip creation for what I call the attention economy. Its easy to use and frankly pretty intuitive. I have been really enjoying the platform and have been able to edit podcasts without being an editor or having that background.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the magic episode clips are too focused on the guest whereas I want to showcase my face and my own question before their answer, as I'm personally using it as a tool to showcase both the guest and myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me to launch a podcast for my own business development efforts and its benefitting me because I don't need the help of an external editor.
Game Change- the confidence I didn’t know I needed
What do you like best about the product?
The ease! You can either upload a video or record directly right in Riverside amazing total game changer
What do you dislike about the product?
Could be just me cause I’m still a rookie with Riverside, but for a woman we like to be able to have filters and so I haven’t been able to locate appropriate filters to apply before recording
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Honestly, Riverside’s been a game changer for me. It gave me the confidence. I didn’t know I was missing. It has shown me some stuff as a brand new podcast or and someone who is spotlighting creators out there things that I didn’t even know I needed or should do
Great and getting greater
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use, but I just love that they’re constantly adding features and finding ways to improve the product. I also like how they offer education sessions to help creators learn how to improve.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to be honest. I think the AI edits could be a little more crisp in cutting out gaps or filler words. When they cut it can sometimes create an unnatural restart, but that’s really it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They streamline the process to make it more efficient, yet thorough.
Professional, Reliable, and Built for Storytelling at Scale
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside has become an indispensable tool for producing both high-quality case studies and live webinars. What stands out most is the studio-grade recording quality combined with ease of use — even for guests with no technical background. It’s helped us create polished, high-impact content that feels broadcast-ready without needing a full production team.
The multi-track recording, local file backup, and speaker view customization have all contributed to a smoother editing process post-recording. Their UI is intuitive, onboarding new users is frictionless, and the platform just works — no glitches, no surprises. We’ve been able to scale our storytelling initiatives with consistency and confidence.

What do you dislike about the product?
While the core functionality is rock solid, a few UX elements still feel like they’re catching up. The backend layout can be slightly overwhelming for first-time admins managing multiple shows or users. We’d also love tighter integrations with tools like Notion or Zapier for faster content handoff workflows post-recording.
That said, these are small trade-offs compared to the massive upside Riverside delivers in terms of quality and reliability.
That said, these are small trade-offs compared to the massive upside Riverside delivers in terms of quality and reliability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside solves two key problems for us: content quality at scale and ease of remote collaboration. As a team running case study interviews and institutional webinars, we need to capture professional-grade audio and video without a full production crew or studio. Riverside enables that seamlessly.
Its ability to record locally and upload in real-time ensures we never lose quality due to internet issues. We’re able to turn around polished content quickly — which supports our marketing, sales enablement, and executive communication goals. It’s allowed us to amplify thought leadership and client voices without friction, all while keeping production in-house.

Amazing platform for non-tech-savvy podcasters.
What do you like best about the product?
It practically does the work for you. Just enter the studio, invite your guest(s) and start recording. The magic audio feature takes out all of your annoying "umm"s and pauses, making you sound like an actual professional. The show notes are done for you instantly. The magic clips are ready to go on social media. It's invaluable, really.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm still figuring out all the features, but that's on me, not Riverside. I think there's probably a lot more I could do if I just explored more, or had more time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Editing -- taking the time to do that myself. Along with marketing, really. Because the magic clips pretty much provide half of that battle.
