Intuitive tool, great for small teams
What do you like best about the product?
We use Riverside for podcast production and other internal interview processes. It's easy to learn, cheap, and has a nice UI. The transcription feature is especially useful. It's also quite straightforward for external guests, since they don't have to create an account to log into the recording room. Overall, a great option.
What do you dislike about the product?
The AI clip suggestions are sometimes a little random and could be refined a little. Video subtitling is decent but the editing workflow needs to be improved. It would also be great if it integrated with Safari (currently only supports Chrome and Edge).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It eases up our podcast & video production.
Took our podcast abilities to a whole new level.
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity to not just edit, but create shorts and long form podcast. The built in features really allow anyone to create a top tier show with a professional touch.
What do you dislike about the product?
There a newer AI feature that can help customize certain needs but can be tricky to ask the proper question to get the intended result. However, there have been improvements since it was first introduced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The AI function has so much potential and has gotten better since released. Would love to see the team allow for more customization with content grabs and request. At time the Co Creator feature doesn't produce what is requested but will say it has. For instance, if you request a thumbnail or snippet of a certain part of the discussion, it will produce it but not be related to the original request.
A Steady Workhorse to Create Quality Marketing Content
What do you like best about the product?
My marketing team, as DMMs, were using Riverside mostly to record and edit podcast episodes and video testimonials with clients. The one standout, however, is the high-quality separate audio tracks it records for each participant. This, in turn, makes editing the audio super-easy; if one guest’s microphone sucks it doesn’t ruin the whole thing. I can tidy it or delete entirely and it won’t affect other tracks. Ease of use for our guests is also a huge plus—the only thing they have to do is click on a link and connect, which cuts down on no-shows and IT support issues for us. The transcription feature is good enough that we can just about immediately pull quotes for social media and blog posts, saving us heaps of time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside solves our largest problem: how to wring professional-sounding audio out of remote guests who are not broadcast professionals. Previously, we’d sometimes send compressed, messy audio from Zoom calls that was hard to clean up and did not sound professional. Now, we’re getting the kind of audio that, without exception, sounds as if everyone was in the same studio together and it has raised our brand’s level of perceived quality. It has simplified our workflow for all of content production. We can shoot a client testimonial and have an audio file, video file and functioning transcript - that can be repurposed into countless marketing assets on our website within 60 minutes. This efficiency enables my small team to punch above our weight and stay on a steady content calendar.
Top-Tier Recording Quality and Easy Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside delivers consistently high-quality video and audio. Sharing raw files with my editor is seamless. The built-in editing tools are intuitive and make it easy to clean up recordings quickly when I need to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional guest setup issues create minor delays, and it’s easy to forget to stay on the platform until uploads are confirmed. We’ve never lost files, but it can be stressful until everything shows complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside solves the problem of poor-quality remote recordings. Unlike Zoom, it delivers studio-grade audio and video that make my interviews and content look professional. This helps me stand out, build credibility with my audience, and save time on post-production because the raw files are already so clean.
A Reliable Workhorse for Producing High-Quality Marketing Content
What do you like best about the product?
My team (Digital Marketing Manager) uses Riverside primarily to record and edit podcast episodes and video testimonials with clients. The standout is the solid separate audio tracks it records for each of the participants. This makes audio editing child's play; one faulty guest microphone isn't going to destroy the entire recording. It's easy to clean up, or I can take it all out without bumming the other tracks. The guest experience is also a huge benefit - they just click a link and join (which translates to fewer no-shows and tech support nightmares for us). The transcription functionality provides enough accuracy that we can pull quotes for social media posts and blog articles quickly-It's saved us a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The in-house editing tools are helpful for quick fixes, but for our final polish, we almost always export the files out into specialized software. The interface is less intuitive when it comes to clipping and creating short-form video content than dedicated platforms. The transcription can be good, but still needs an attentive proofing for industry jargon or names. I also find the pricing plans a bit inflexible for what we need - I wish there were more flexibility around functionality features at the core recording and transcription level without needing all the top tier extras.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside solves our number one problem: getting broadcast-quality audio out of remote guests who are not audiophiles. Previously we’d receive compressed, messy audio from Zoom calls and it was challenging to clean this up and make it sound professional. Now, our brand's perceived quality is higher, because we always sound like everyone was in one studio together. It’s been a game-changer for our entire content production process. Within one hour, we can capture a client testimonial and have a clean audio file, with video and a live transcript that you could then take and turn into 20 different marketing assets. This is also what allows my small team (it’s just me and one other person) to punch above our weight and keep ourselves on a content schedule that makes sense.
Riverside has been a great tool for our new podcast!
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside is great because it is easy to use. You can schedule, record, and edit with no master skills required. It has great built in AI and has made recording and editing out podcasts so much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Riverside does not have many features that I dislike. Sometimes our guests have trouble getting their technology side set up because it does require a lot of resources but it is also a recording tool so to be expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside has given us an easy platform to do our podcasts from start to finish. Providing scheduling, recording, editing, smart tools to make clips, descriptions, and titles as well.
Riverside is an amazing platform for podcasters
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is constantly providing updates with innovative and creative tools. I love how it provides suggestions on the file edits and shorts. Another great feature is the live cloud recording. I had in multiple occasions guests which did not have the best connection and during the recording the audio was broken and inconsistent. However, when I downloaded the entire conversation to start editing it, the whole talk was there, with no noise or interruptions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more available options for background tracks and audio effects on lower payment packages, as some of these features were already available for free in the legacy Anchor platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside solves many of my editing time issues, allows to edit conversations seamlessly and provides an easy way to integrate my own tracks and effects into the file. Not to mention that the whole suite (record - edit - fine tune - save) being in one place is absolutely awesome.
The one and only site I use for my podcast needs
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can do everything I need for my podcast to get it ready to publish. I record every episode in it, I edit those episodes from the recordings, create all the ancillary pieces required (show notes, transcripts etc.) to get as broad of a reach as possible, and if I used Spotify to publish, Incould publish from it. It’s great!
What do you dislike about the product?
The price can be a little daunting, but getting a deal on Black Friday helped me pull the trigger on the Pro version. I used the free version for over two years with no problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wrote Riverside, I was using three or four different programs to create a podcast episode. Now, I only need to use Riverside.
Remote Recording Done Right
What do you like best about the product?
What I like about Riverside is is that people who are not tech-savvy feel comfortable there. In a world of ever-increasing remote recordings, it's essential for producers and creators of shows to have tools in their hands that bring down the temperature when it comes to blinking-red-light-syndrome. I find that Riverside feels calm, clearly laid out, and really caters the user experience to the specific user - meaning that guests aren't overwhelmed with buttons and knobs they don't need to worry about, while Hosts and Producers have all the control in the world in a simple to use fashion. I trust Riverside with my business. They are the gold standard for how remote recordings should be done.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I were picky for the work I'm trying to accomplish, I would have Riverside focus less on AI editing solutions and put all their chips in on making the export process for FCPX and Adobe Suite as seamless as possible. It takes so much effort for me to sync the individual video files with individual raw audio files and then to sync those final files together in a multicam clip to edit. I would love that process to be simpler for me as a user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside is helping me solve the problem of how do I record a 2+ person podcast while everyone is in different locations. It's benefitting me because I can work remotely and produce a show which provides income for me.
Riverside - intuitive but powerful
What do you like best about the product?
I use Riverside for a variety of things, several times a week. Its USP is capturing video and audio in the maximum quality, which is ideal for remote podcasting. When I am working with a guest, the fact that Riverside is easy to use for them is crucial. I also use Riverside for other functions. I record a lot of short educational video, and I find it easier to work directly in Riverside than to shoot onto a card and then import to edit in Premier, for instance. The reason for this is the text based editing is incredibly intuitive and - above all - fast! Whenever I've had a problem, which has been rarely over the 2 years that I've been using it, the customer support has been good, and my issue has been resolved. Another really handy feature is that I can handover to colleagues in other companies by exporting projects directly from Riverside to Premier Pro, so it works seamlessly with their workflow, even if they are not Riverside users. It's been easy for me to adopt, and it hasn't led to any disruption with the folks I work with outside my own small company. I want to give a shout out to to the Creator Academy - the webinars have helped me to 'elevate my game' - not just technically, but also with things like scripting. The YouTube how-tos are also exemplary. This support makes it easy to learn, and not just at the beginning, but on an ongoing basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not many downsides that I can think of. Some of the AI features are great - like magic audio or AI producer, but others, like the animations seem unnecessary. Easy to ignore these though. Files get backed up after a period of time, something like 6 or 8 months, and moved into cold storage - it can take a day or so to get these restored. That has occasionally held me up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If Riverside did not exist, the video quality of my remote podcasts would suffer. It's USP is capturing great quality remotely from guests where I can't control the environment. The AI tools that can ameliorate a less than ideal setup are a big part of this too. But beyond that, it has made my video workflow faster, and less complex.
