No experience necessary, easy to use, beautiful UI
What do you like best about the product?
You don't need any previous experience to use Riverside. It's really clear to use, allowing for high quality recordings, with all your content easily accessible in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
One negative point is the test recording is always very short 0.1 seconds so it never actually captures the speech. The test functionality counts down and then asks you to say something but whenever I have reviewed the test recording, it is always 0.1-0.3 seconds of video captured before anyone speaks which is frustrating.
Also, I would love to see more of the functionality of Descript where you can edit it easily by the transcript. Whilst you do get a transcript in Riverside, I haven't seen the functionality of being able to immediately remove filler words or remove the text and have the corresponding video disappear. Being able to customise the arrangement of the videos would be great.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to record high quality podcast and video episodes. Zoom quality is not as good and dows not allow for you to separate the video and audio tracks, giving you flexiblity in post production.
It is very easy to navigate and stream.
What do you like best about the product?
How easy the navigating part is.
Streaming is made very easy.
Editing is enjoyable, and I like how you can make short vids from the full clip.

The only downside is the live chat it is hard to explain your problem to the AI.

It helps me edit, film, and post my podcast on multiple different platforms.
Does a good job of getting the job done
What do you like best about the product?
Feels more professional than using Zoom. Nice interface and it's easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had more features for editing, but that's asking for a lot. It already makes it easy to create clips. And it's easy to export and edit externally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a platform that would reliably record high-quality podcasts. The way it records video locally helps ensure that the final product looks good. And I've never had a situation where it crashed or anything.
No other way to get great footage from anyone anywhere
What do you like best about the product?
I work with different meditation teachers of all different backgrounds and locations. You never know what kind of equipment they may have or how tech-savvy they may be. I like that with Riverside, all they need to know is how to use their browser, and I can rest assured that I'm getting the highest quality recording without giving them an hour-long tutorial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it seems like my clip markers aren't saved, so I don't rely on it too heavily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It cuts down on the tutorials I would usually have to give to our teachers, and it cuts down on file transfer. That's the most important thing for us, that our teachers can easily record with us from anywhere, no matter what their level of expertise. They just need to focus on the teaching, or the interview.

I'm a technophobe & had this figured out straight away - it's super intuitive & simple.

Haven't found any...except how to get back to videos in library from studio??
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm writing a book of women's stories. Interviewing the women & getting an instant transcript + video is brilliant! It's also easy for the women to use
The easiest, best quality audio and video on a platform from beginning to end.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I get high quality 4K version of the video with high-quality audio that the final product will be broadcast quality.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue I have is that as a paying customer I sometime have trouble removing the watermark but that is a small thing.

We have used other products before but the quality of video is always poor. With Riverside the video quality is clear and professional. A great image and great audio always lead to a great product.
Unreliable
What do you like best about the product?
Not much. On the surface, it seemed like a game-changing product. But in reality, it was all window dressing. Poor quality output, so we switched to a competitor for our podcast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quality & reliability issues were constant. Not worth the headache -- can't figure out why there are so many great reviews here. Everyone I asked had the same or similar awful experiences with Riverside as I have.

I wanted so bad for it to solve my Podcasting problems, but it has fallen short time and time again. Moving on to something better and more reliable for my podcast and video needs.
Amateur podcaster and loving it
What do you like best about the product?
Even as an amateur podcaster, I wanted to guarantee the best sound quality, so I followed a tip from a professional and started my project with Riverside. I had some issues with the first recording, but the backup tool saved me, and everything went well afterward. Very easy to edit and transcript. Will recommend it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The testing record tool is a little mysterious to use. Had trouble with the first recording that wasn't saved, but the backup went ok.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm recording some interviews for a content project about female friendships. The interviews will appear on social media and a podcast I'm editing. The tool solve the problem of recording in high quality even with bad internet and facilitate the editing for social media.

- Intuitive user interface with just the right features for recording, incl. easy echo cancellation controls for host and guest
- Flawless when it comes to sharing link with guests and getting them to join the platform - never had an issue reported by guests, and in the only one case where audio was unreliable, the guest joined thorugh the mobile app
- Very easy to share the recorded files with an audio production team
- Super intuitive button to record highlight clips from the discussion while I 'm interviewing

It's my go-to platfrom for inviting guests, recording the podcast, and working with the audio engineer to process the clips
Super High-Quality and Versatile Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I'm legally blind, and with my low vision, there are just lots of parts to creating a video podcast that are difficult for me. Riverside streamlines a lot of those processes. Super grateful for this tool!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more versatile options for switching between my video and presentation sharing à la StreamYard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I plan to launch my podcast in both audio and video formats. Furthermore, though I'm starting solo, I hope to eventually conduct interviews. As I said in my initial reaction, I'm legally blind, and so having all these capabilities in one place is really helpful.
