iJAMA is a great tool for the requirement management .

What do you like best about the product?
-User interface is easy to use
-REST API
-Trace views
-Round trip is a great feature
What do you dislike about the product?
some features which other tools have such as :

- Licensing can not be selected before user login into the system. for example, if a user is to review items, the user should be able to log in as a Collaborator for that specific login. or collaborators should be able to edit relationships but this is only possible for the creator

- tracking of a reported defect/issue is not visible to the person who has reported it.
- creating a new template/report is too complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-single source of information
-A better collaboration between different teams
-Reusability of the items between different projects
-Creating a requirement / test library that reduce engineering time
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is user friendly and easy to use

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jama Connect is much better than DOORS.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The traceability that Jama offers and a good review platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too many things going on in the user interface for a new user. Too many places to write comments and not consolidated in the end to find them in one place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting rid of the old word document ways of working. Have a much better review process for cross-team work. Revision of work is better maintained
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend the tool for Requirements management

What do you like best about the product?
Direct relation on the same window between tree view and detailed view. Text editor is user friendly. Document import is easy t use
What do you dislike about the product?
Export template modelling is too complex, combined with poor supporting information to build our own template. Data export not always usefull without manual re-work
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
mainly the traceability between several items, and clustering of information in the same environement

A slightly more modern tool for requirement management

  • April 21, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The tool is very easy to access and being cloud-based, requires no setup.
Jama has very good in-tool editing features.
It has a very stable experience and I experienced almost no bugs.
I also appreciated the solid customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jama is not very good at scaling for different types of systems.
The native data reporting tools are also fairly limited.
The interface can feel a bit overwhelming for new users, while at the same time many aspects feel unfinished.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Jama we are:
- replacing traditional paperwork
- showing traceability between items
- enabling easy and trackable reuse of requirements
- managing tests

So far, we see a good improvement in transparency of who owns what in terms of Requirement Management and in fine-tuning the requirements process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jama is great if you have a small to medium business with a limited number of product types.

Good

What do you like best about the product?
- I can easily create traceability between requirements and test cases.
- Review functionality is good.
- Customer service is good. I think I have a very good sales rep.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Cloud version does not have the flexibility to stay at a certain version.
- Jama connect does not have the LDAPS functionality (Replicated has it, but Jama does not). Seems like that is a low priority for them. I am kind of disappointed since it is a security-related functionality.
- When I submit a support ticket, the first tire engineer always asks some template questions. Some of them are already entered at the ticket submission. I feel it is redundant.
- Test Run is not integrated well with test cases.
- Long time ago, I had a sales rep who was just trying to push a new service and kept asking questions about what he was interested in. He was not interested in what I needed. (Luckily, I no longer have him.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Traceability between requirements and test cases

I've been satisfied with Jama for years.

What do you like best about the product?
Everything just works. The administrative tools are flexible and allow configuration to match our team's workflow. It has highly configurable reports to allow us to export data for use in our document control system.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to be able to test reports without going through support staff, but they have a very quick turnaround so it's not too much of an inconvenience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jama to track marketing and system requirements as well as test cases, test execution, and risk mitigation. It's a very flexible system that allows us to keep all of our software documentation in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When we were looking, they offered us a long trial period, so try it and see if it works for you.

Jama is simple, all inclusive, and continually evolving!

What do you like best about the product?
I like the freedom to store my documentation, requirements, risks, tests, and defects all in the same place. This, combined with Jama's great tools for review and collaboration, make Jama an ideal tool to use for large teams and cross-functional activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only two misses that I really feel an impact from in Jama so far. I think the testing tool could really use some bolstering. Maybe look to tools like Quality Center and implement some of the more complex testing tool options. Another smaller piece centers around Change Requests. Jama allows for users to associate scope items with a change request, which is very helpful. But then, after linking, there is no way to query items based on their association with a change request. This makes it difficult to gather scope for a release where the release is composed of multiple change requests worth of scope. I think this could be a very simple, yet elegant, fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cross-functional collaboration is at an all-time high for teams at our company that are using Jama. Being part 11 compliant means that our content never needs to leave Jama and that is very helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
On top of being a great working tool, this product is easy to transition into, and it also gives great APIs if you're ever forced to move to another tool or transition data.

Great tool for recording requirements and proving audit trail for any changes made

  • November 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use; easy to set up reviews and track changes to requirements; like the option to export requirements into Word or Excel; worked well for a big team like ours-easy to manage the licences
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting when you export is not good; Highlighting a requirement in a review, do not allow reviewers or approvers to go straight to that requirement; Searching in a review by Unique ID needs to be improved-currently is not available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility of requirements to the whole of the BA team
Transparency-project team and stakeholders could be added even outside of the organisation;
Its a one-stop shop for business requirements in our organization;
Easy to pick project requirements even when the project was paused;
Providing audit trail of changes to the requirements to anyone that want to see that
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the features of the tool to see if it fit your business needs
