What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough and proper tools to monitor the hardware of servers. Specially the ESXi servers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SSL certs issues, hardware issues, application issues.

Highly recommended to use as its easy to understand, to deploy, to configure, to use and to get support.

So, my customer says about not can to be possible to monitor in real time. Or same times not have template done. I not have questions dislike.

Keep doing what you're doing
It is a simple yet powerful tool for monitoring server and applications.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that Solarwinds had made many improvements over the past years and now they have alot of modules and products that complements each other. for SAM, it is a really powerfull tool for monitoring and knowing what is happening with the services/application. It leaves the guessing outfor us administrators. Really easy tool. You should try it now
What do you dislike about the product?
Well at first maybe you need to know a little bit more about what you want to monitor for the application part. but when you get the hand of it, its really simple and useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are monitoring our critical applications, like middleware, web services and crm. Before solarwinds SAM, we have a hard time troubleshooting when the applications went "Slow" or unavailable. Now with the insights of SAM, we can look for the root cause of the problems very quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should try solarwinds with a demo and reach out to a partner or solarwinds directly. They can do a PoC and algo help you look for the best products for you needs. Make sure you know what are your needs and let them know what are you pain points.

What do you like best about the product?
Versatility in monitoring with various out of the box components and the script based components.
Advanced monitoring using some of the customizable components mixed with dynamic and Advanced/SQL Alerting allow for any imaginable or experienced scenario to captured by SAM and properly alerted on.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much that you can not do with SAM. Most of my complaints or issues rally around UI and some minor functionality. Though where the out of the box measures fall short, there are many customizable options to fill the gap to obtain and provide the data and insight needed top properly run and manage multiple business critical applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Over the years I have used SAM for Notification of downed or stalled applications and machines. This has ranged from mechanical pharmaceutical dispensers to debit card printers at local branches. Faster remediation of both clinical and pharmacy applications and devices has prevented financial and total life loss on a regular basis. Alerting on debit card printer issues allowed a Card Service Provider to better communicate and re-mediate issues with printing new debit cards before it affected clients access to their own funds.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a few specific idea's of implementation when demoing. If you are unable to setup a POC provide these details to your sales rep and request a tuned demonstration based around your need.

You have all the information that you need in only one single point. Solarwinds have the agents that help you to understand what is happening on your servers and not only the bare metal you can go until the application.

What do you dislike about the product?
You need an agent for each software that you have, if you have a database on your server you will need and agen for the database, if you need monitoring networking you should install a other agent.
You have to buy all the package to get better information, because if only buy the SAM, them you will need to know how is your network so you will need the NPM, them you need to see is is the storage so you will need that package.

The initial issue for all server admin is the not visibility or undertand what is happening in the server, not only when you are troubleshooting but also in your daily activities. So now with solarwind SAM we have that visibility and the understanding of what is happening.

Include other solarwinds product to get more information, also install the agent in each server in order to get better information.
Great Unified IT Monitoring tool!
What do you like best about the product?
We use Orion performance monitor with net flow traffic analyze add on as well as the Virtualization Manager. I like the fact that you can add monitoring templates depending on the device that you want to monitor and also its great that you can create NOCs views with visual and audio alerts
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is a little bit expensive and upgrading from one version to another is not straight forward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managinng more than 500 hosts and this tools help a lot to monitor each interface and let us know when something is not right.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to monitor network devices don't forget to add the net flow analyzer add on.
SolarWinds SAM is so-so
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to monitor scheduled tasks. Our company performs a lot of automation through windows scheduled tasks and cronjobs, monitoring those task for failures allows the IT department to not be caught off guard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way the licensing scheme work out. Anytime you monitor something (a task, a service, a process, or daemon), it consumes a massive amount of licenses. And it doesn't even monitor IIS all that well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The monitoring of scheduled tasks and cronjobs in our server environment, have lowered the amount of times that IT is alerted that something is down. Now IT can catch the issue and resolve it, sometimes before the end user is even aware.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your sole job will be to deal with this product, then you may have the time to tweek it and get it running the way you want it. But for admins with other things to do, this product can be a little time consuming to get oriented the way you want it.
An excellent server management tool. Highly recommended.
What do you like best about the product?
SAM allows you the peace of mind, knowing your servers are performing well. It highlights potential issues and even application issues that could be affecting the end user; before they complain. With alerting, Microsoft integration, historical statistics and more, SAM is a must for any server administrator. The built in templates are a great time saver but can also be customised to fit your infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
The SAM module can be costly especially when you starting more and more devices. Set up takes time, especially per device. When you manage more than 20 servers, it can take time to tweak accordingly. There is a slight learning curve to get the most out of the software, but it's worth the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SAM allows us to keep downtime to a minimum and makes us more productive. It saves us so much time in the long run even if it takes a little while to get set up.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for great software to help you manage your server health and server applications, from Microsoft to Linux you need to seriously take a look at SAM. It helps us each day and helps us keep on top of maintenance and other mundane tasks.

Our company mostly uses it to monitor Windows services. But with Solarwinds' community, I was able to monitor much more items such as O365, files sizes, etc.
