Network monitoring at it's finest.

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the amount of information if provides you. Examples would be the bandwidth utilization for each interface or the cpu loads.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main view can become quite cluttered if you are setting up multiple sections for monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps with making sure networks at each location are constantly up and running and also whether or not the hardware or software we are using, works for our needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Organization of each section is key as the interface for viewing can get quite cluttered .

Proactive System and Application Monitoring

What do you like best about the product?
Ease to deploy the monitoring templates (SAM) to multiple servers and create alerts of. The application comes with many out of the box templates which give you many options to monitor. Also custom reports can be created for those components.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the OOB templates, for instance, App /insight, do not give you the option to remove specific components. The SAM module does not include any APM capabilities for monitoring your application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proactive system monitoring and reporting. Historical Data and live reporting
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good Product for monitoring Server and Application. It is not a APM product. SolarWinds does have their own APM tools if needed.

I like the single pane of glass consolidation
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes have to click through a lot to get to relevant info.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves time over having to use multiple consoles/tools

What do you like best about the product?
The in depth analysis of SolarWinds is far superior to other products on the market today. Easily collaborates and centralizes other add-on features such as NetFlow Analyzer, Server Monitor, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost of the licensing model makes this an expensive solution
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to fully monitor local and remote sites with the platform. Receive immediate alerts when devices or sites are down or inaccessible.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be prepared for the licensing costs. Also determine if you require the other add-ons that Orion provides (NetFlow Analyzer, etc)

What do you like best about the product?
It's ability to locate issues within a VM environment
What do you dislike about the product?
It's reporting feature is not user friendly

It's able to detect issues faster than just regular monitoring or waiting for email alerts
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This program does what it says it will do but it does have some work that's needs to be done as far as user interface and usability

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the monitoring and sending of notifications and alerts via email. This keeps me on top of issues in my environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The complexity for configuring alerts at times can be difficult.

What do you like best about the product?
Powerful and intuitive network monitor, so you can start solving problems right away. Out-of-the box network monitoring scales to handle all the growth your organization can throw at you, today and tomorrow.

Cost effective monitoring tool

What do you like best about the product?
Solarwinds has always been a leader in monitoring and management solutions. What I like best are:

1) Easy to use interface
2) Proactive alerting via emails and sms
3) API integration with other 3rd party monitoring tools
What do you dislike about the product?
1) Cost is a bit high. Might be a bit on the expensive side for IT shops with a budget

2) Support could be a little more helpful when issues arise
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to proactively monitor and manage our infrastructure is key to our success. Sam has allowed us to utilize the tool to gain this advantage. Not only are we able to solve our issue of being reactive but we'd also able to use the analytics from their reports to gain better insight on the performance of our infrastructure and achieve improved capacity planning and automation of certain processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a proper evaluation before implementing the tool, as with any other solution you might consider. Analyze there pros and cons to see if it fits in line with your specifications and meet your expectations in an remote monitoring and management tool.
